Returning To Tapping Your Inner Resources

The Lord keeps bringing me back to what He considers the essential teachings I should give. This is to keep identifying the resources that are within you and learning how to release those resources to build the life you desire.

If we truly walked in the spirit and allowed what He gave us to flow out, we would succeed in everything we do. There would be no problems in health, wealth, or relationships.

But still, nobody fully grasps what is involved in releasing the inner resources. So we need to return to the basics. So far, I produced three books on this subject, but there is more to be covered.

I have been introducing the subject of mantles, but few have really grasped how they work. In my book, The Essential Mantles, I tried to bring it all together, showing how the Holy Spirit and God work through mantles. I have also tried to explain how Satan works to block the outflow and function of these mantles.

But then the Lord began to reveal some things to me, specifically the way Satan works. This has now become the next book in the series. I want to introduce this subject to you in this chapter.

Demons and Deliverance

It will help you to understand more about how to overcome the works of the enemy in your life. Those who emphasize deliverance ministry tend to see this in a one-sided way. To them, it is simply a matter of being delivered from the power of demons in your life.

Unfortunately, it is not that simple. Demons cannot do anything until they are given permission. Most of the time that permission is given through sinful behavior. You cannot cast out sinful behavior or the flesh.

Demons cannot simply take hold of us without our permission. And if we try to cast them out or tell them to go when they have been given a legal right to be there, then no deliverance will take place.

The only person who can tell a demon to leave you is you. Not someone from the outside who has greater authority. I know that authority that I have enabled me to overcome personal attack from Lucifer himself, as well as his hierarchy.

But that does not mean I can command every demon to leave someone else who is in bondage. Now, the works of darkness embrace everything that is not the blessing of the Lord. This includes sickness, poverty, conflicts in relationships, and bad habits.

We tend to categorize demons that must be dealt with in deliverance. But if you caught a cold and someone tried to cast demons out of you, would you accept this? Would you not be offended at the suggestion that you are in demonic bondage?

You would be shocked if you realized how much of what you consider natural ability comes from a demon power. If you look inside every person and see the demonic powers that are at work, you would be shocked. But that is because we see it as little demons inside of people.

Operation of Mantles

But Satan works in a much more subtle and powerful way. And it is so subtle that we do not even identify it. We make the same mistake when it comes to the power of God. We know there are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, but God does not work only through one gift at a time.

The power of God is manifested in the form of a mantle of anointing. That mantle combines the effects of several different gifts of the spirit, authority, and different modes of operation. This can look very different in different people who are anointed.

If you check the history of God's generals, you will see unique manifestations in many of them. They carried a mantle, which was held in place by several different gifts of the spirit.

Imagine that a mantle needs cords to tie it in place. Like the buttons on our modern clothes. These different cords are added at different times, sometimes from impartations or spiritual experiences that the person goes through.

Nobody rose up full-blown in the final power or mantle that they became famous for. It developed over time, and as their calling became more clear, and they reached out to the Lord, He added things to them.

Impartation of Mantles

Today, we want everything to be instant. “I would like you to impart your mantle to me, which took you years to develop, so that I can function like you do overnight.”

We think some folks just had it lucky. But each one had to go through some intense experiences to get to where they were. We don't want to do the work and pay the price for it.

But today, God wants every believer to rise up in power. And it all depends on your core desires and the price you are prepared to pay. But once that mantle has formed around you and is held in place by the specific cords God used, then it is yours to use.

But sometimes we do not recognize the mantles we have, because we want what others have. This is not the main subject I want to teach now. It is just an introduction to what I want to show you.

Mantles of the Enemy

In the same way God works through people using mantles, the enemy also uses mantles. The mantles he adds are designed to block the flow and function of God’s mantles.

I have shown you that we all have one mantle that will provide all the power we need. I call it the mantle of power. You can activate it at any time and then use it to release the power of God from within to flow outwards.

It can flow into your body to bring health, into the world to bring wealth, and into people to produce relationships. If you learn to activate this mantle daily and release its power, you will see the results in your life.

But we wait for God to do this, and when He doesn’t, we are disappointed. The Scriptures are clear that YOU must decide what will happen on this earth. You have been given the power and authority to bind or prevent evil, and you have been given the authority and power to release or initiate blessing.

What happens if you try to do this and it does not work? What if you try to release healing power into your body and it remains diseased? What if you try to release it into your finances and you remain in lack? Because something is blocking the power from flowing out.

You see Satan has his own mantle which he puts over your mantle of power

and it is designed to neutralize the mantle of power and make it ineffective.

Blocking By Bad Mantles

When you try to release your power using faith, hope, and love and it does not work, it means something is blocking it. What is blocking it is a bad mantle. Where did this bad mantle come from? And then, what is holding it in place once it has come?

What holds it in place is the same kind of thing that holds your good mantle. There are cords there. When the sickness in your body is there because of a bad mantle, medicine does not help, and prayer for healing does not help.

So before you can experience the healing you desire, you need to identify that there is a bad mantle there. You need to identify the cords that are holding it in place.

Only once those cords have been cut can you get rid of this bad mantle

You could yank on it as hard as you can. And command it to leave per deliverance mode as much as you like. It will laugh in your face.

The first time a symptom arises of the condition you are suffering from is probably when the first cord is put in place. Over time, other experiences and interactions with both people and the spiritual realm may add more cords.

Now, years later, you stand with this ongoing problem, and you just cannot win over it. That is why it is not enough to pray and ask for healing alone, and it is also not enough to just command it to leave.

If the person opened a door to the enemy in the past, this cord still exists. It could come from family generations. It could come with association with someone who is in bondage. It could come from believing the lies the enemy put in your head. But eventually, it has become yours.

Now, to break free, you need to identify the links - the cords that are holding it in place. Then, with the Lord’s help, using both the Spirit and the Word and submitting to the Holy Spirit within you, deal with areas of the flesh.

You can eventually loosen the hold of this bad mantle, and the symptoms will begin to subside. Your body will be released to heal itself, and the power from your spirit within will flow out into your body.

This applies also to financial problems. If your life has been one of bad luck with money, look for the cords. If you have never developed good relationships or could never find a spouse, look for the links. Often, they run in families.

Once you cut the ties and loosen the hold of that bad mantle, your experiences begin to change. And as you learn to activate your mantle of power and release it daily, you will see a turnabout in your circumstances.

It is hard work, and we often just want the easy way. Someone must wave a wand and make it happen. But it took time to arrive and take hold, and it may take time to cut it loose and get rid of it.

Many of these things we inherit from our parents. This is why we must all leave home without being influenced by our parents. However, you will see immediate effects as you identify each cord and cut it.

So, as you go into the days ahead, stop and make your plans, then work on releasing the power from within. Start looking to the Lord to identify bad mantles that are blocking you.

As you work towards this each day, you will begin to see your life turn around for good and blessing.
