They were busy the past 4 weeks with another obligation

I guess not many started reading the book I put up until today

Because there was a bug that did not allow not partners in

Today will be the last session where we will discuss Bad Mantles here on WhatsApp

But I will be putting together a complete series to be preached from the pulpit, which will cover the subject in more detail.

And then there will be enough material for a full book.

Right now the book only has just over 30 pages which is not enough to publish as a book

It is based purely on our weekly chats here

Once the full subject is preached the official book will be published, and it will not be available to those who are not partners or students

But the current abridged version from the WhatsApp chats will remain free to the public

From there we will be moving on to additional subjects still related to the use of mantles in ministry

As always, I have to live these before I can teach them, so as I live them I present them to you

Some of the things that we will look at next in relation to mantles is the use of two main implements associated with mantles

These are the symbols the Lord used of a sword and a key

They speak of power and authority

I am going to be changing some of my ministry activities and emphasis as the Lord is bringing us to a new era here at GBM

For a long while now I have stopped preaching from the pulpit and presented most of our ministry in the form of WhatsApp chats and blogs containing video, audio and transcripts

So these are all been shorter teachings and for everyone at all levels

However, we are still essentially a training ministry, and the schools are again coming to life

We are getting new student applications for the Apostolic School, and we will soon start covering apostolic subjects

But now in this group, because it is for everyone

We have another chat each Saturday now that is going well where we are ministering at a higher level

And we are currently working with the prophetic ministry and how to get revelation in visions and dreams

This current group is open to everyone who registers for fellowship with GBM

The higher level training is only available to paying students

So we are doing this group on Mondays and the school group on Saturdays, to allow folks in the USA to also join us

I have produced over the past 24 years teaching materials largely by preaching into camera and these have become the foundation of our school programs

But the Lord does not remain stagnant and He continues to give up new revelation on many of the original subjects

Including this whole new series on mantles

So I will be getting back to producing materials this way again

And then what I present in our WhatsApp chats and also in our weekly blogs will be based on established teachings

But with additional teaching to make it more available to all believers

So we are going to be pretty busy again here and I need to get as much done while I still can

The Lord has told me to plan 5 years ahead and pour out as much as I can in that time

After that I will reach my eighties and hopefully I can step back a bit and hand things over to others

Last week we looked at again another kind of cord that holds bad mantles in place.

And we considered the cords that are formed which lead us to believe certain things.

Usually what we believe is based on two main influences in our lives

The first is the input we have received in the form of teaching and instruction

This includes mentorship and perhaps even spiritual parenting

As a result of what you heard and received from preachers and teachers, you formed a system of belief

And this system of beliefs can often limit or restrict you in going forward in your spiritual life

For example, if you were taught that healing is not for today, you will have difficulty trusting God for healing

The same applies to how you view prosperity and good relationships

Sorry just to backtrack to the books I mentioned

Getting back to bad mantles

you may be trusting the Lord for blessing in your life

Or wanting to move forward in ministry and manifesting the power of God

But your belief system may be limiting you from reaching your full potential

God works through faith, and faith and belief go together

So if you have difficulty believing for something, either because you were taught wrongly or because you had bad experiences in these

Then you will not come to the place where you are able to fully trust the Lord for these things

So sometimes it may be good to go over the things you believe and establish why you believe these things

Did you see and get a revelation in the Word on these or did you just accept them because of a man or woman of God whom you admire, who teaches them

s

I have changed my views on many things through the years

And some things that I fervently preached against at one time in the past, I had to change my views

For example I was subjected to a lot of negative teachings against the Word of Faith Movement

They were portrayed as a Prosperity Cult teaching false doctrine

I believed what I heard taught, but did not really know exactly what the Word of Faith taught

But my finances were a mess and I was really find it hard to believe that God could prosper me

And the Lord began to speak to me, and told me, “Go and read the teachings of Kenneth Hagin and see what they teach

There is something there that can benefit you

I can still remember one day I was riding along in the car with my family, heading home from the shops

And suddenly I made a decision in my heart

I turned the car around and headed for the bookshop where they sold all of Hagin’s books.

My wife asked me, “What are you doing?

I said, “I am going to go and buy some of Kenneth Hagin’s books”

She said, “But I thought you did not believe that stuff\"

I said, “I don’t , but the Lord is telling me to go read them”

I remember my last time of ministry when we first left Zimbabwe to move down to South AFrica

I was assistant pastor in the church and it was my last chance to preach there

My senior pastor told me, “Les feel free to preach anything you want>”

So I attacked a teaching that I had been subjected to by a bunch of flaky prophetic women in the church

They called in Inner Healing, and in my mind I felt that was nothing more than Christian Psychology

Sad so say, I so desperately needed some healing bad experiences in my life, but I would not admit such a ministry existed

Until one day a brother in the Lord show flowed well in the gifts of the Spirit, prayed with me an something happened deep inside me

He told me, “Les the Lord has taken a weakness out of you and put a strength in its place”

I did not know what he was talking about, but in a matter of time I realized that the effects of many of the hurts I had experiened had suddenly disappeared

The Lord did a dirty on me - He went and inner healed me

So now I had to change my view on inner healing and look at it more serioulsy

I am sharing these with you so that you can understand some of what you may face in dealing with your current system of beliefs

So never discount the important of what you believe

Always be ready to give up some of the things you always believed if a better understanding comes to you

Some things I will never give up or let go of

Because I learned them in the crucible of experience and through revelation from the Lord

They bring me stability in my spiritual life and enable me to believe God for so much more

So I hope you understand now how important it is to know without a doubt what the Word teaches and what God wants you to believe

It can be a cord holding you back by keeping you attached to a bad mantle

The next kind of belief comes when you believe the things that people say about you or to you

Rejection is one of the most painful experiences in life

And when you try to give out in innocence what burns inside of you

and people reject it

This can leave a scar and produce a strong cord that holds you back in the future

It affects the way you see yourself

And the moment you begin to see yourself as something smaller than God made you to be

you stop trying to do things you wanted to do

You may have started out with great enthusiasm

Believing you can do this

And you gave it your best shot

But instead of hitting the target, you got shot down instead

Now you are afraid to try again

And your life is controlled by fear

you will rather not try again and fail and be rejected

So you give up trying

and you come to the conclusion that this just is not for you

you may even try to hide behind a doctrine that says, “God has chosen what ministry you will do, and clearly this is not it”

Other people seem to flourish in this

I just comes naturally to them

but for you, it just will not ever happen

After perhaps trying several times and failed, you produce a new kind of cord to a bad mantle, an this is the last kind of cord I will be addressing

NOw some of this may have started in childhood or in the home

Perhaps a parent or sibling told you that you were stupid

People makes comments like, “Hey don’t give up your day job yet”

Eventually you are so weary and afraid of facing any more of this, that you take a step that will lead to a bondage for the rest of your life

You come to the place where you think

“I just do not want to do this any more”

“I just do not want to try and fail again”

And then it comes a stronger choice

Where you say something like, “I will never ever try to do this again”

We have a term for this

It is called an Inner Vow

Here is a Scripture that seems to describe this experience

Proverbs 6:2 You are trapped by the words coming from your mouth; you have been captured by the words coming from your mouth. [GBMV]

Some of the most common experiences of an inner vow are when a child may say something like:

“I will never ever be like my father”

“I will never ever be like my mother”

In making such a vow you are not only stepping into dangerous territory, but you have actually bound the hands of the Lord in your life

I remember hearing from my Dad how when he will still in his youth he was so active for the Lord

That when the church had no pastor, he virtually carried out all the duties of a pastor freely

And he was really good at it

But then someone came in officially as the pastor

And they pushed him out without so much as a thank you

From that time my Dad made a vow, “I will never ever become a Pastor or go into ministry”

Yet he could do everything that a pastor did and really well

But he resorted to ministering only to kids and became a Sunday School superintendent

When I began to feel the call of God on my life, I got all excited and shared my passion with him

And he said to me, “You are mad, forget about ever going into ministry”

This is the power of an inner vow, and it robbed my Dad of so much that God could have done in his life

I had to cut that cord with him because it was starting to show in my life and ministry too

It is very difficult to rise up in ministry when you have faced a lot of rejection in life

And yet rejection is one of the main experiences of those called to higher office

So if you have really been wanting to move on in the Lord and in ministry

But you keep finding yourself reaching a plateau

It might just be that somewhere along the way you made and inner vow

It could have happened so long ago that you have forgotten about it

But it is still lying there as a strong cord deep inside, and that cord is holding in place a bad mantle that is blocking the power of God from flowing out of you

It may take a time of waiting on the Lord and letting Him take you back to some of those early experiences

Or you may need someone to pray with you to uncover it

But once that cord is cut, you will sense an amazing freedom in the Spirit

It will feel like a load is lifted from you

Now before I end tonight I want to share with you an area of bondage that can also take place

And bad mantle and cords that can affect your life and ministry

We have seen that usually most of the cords that hold bad mantles on us come from family members

This starts with your parents

Then it could include aunts and uncles - especially if they were a big part of your life

After that there are spouses and those with whom you become intimate and united together spiritually

Going with that are the siblings of spouses

And then the parents of spouses - the in-laws

Following that there are your own siblings - your brothers an sisters if you had these

and finally your own children if you are parent

Sometimes these can be mixed together to produce strong cords and bad mantles

As you go back over the chapters I have put up in this book take time to examine your relationships with all of these different areas of close contacts

Now the Lord has put something powerful in each of us as believers

We have been given the power to do many things that only God can do

I explain this in Tapping Your Inner Resources

And when two or more believers combine together what is in their spirits

There can be an amplification of the power

But when a fellow believer does not agree with you in the spirit

They can take the power in their spirits an use it against you

When this happens, you begin to experience a curse instead of a blessing

We tend to see all curses coming from

Satan and his demons

And so we attack them to overcome

But in reality the only creature in this world that carries fullness of power

Is the one made in the image of God

And the greatest power the either helps us or hurts us

Often comes from other believers

You can take authority of Satan and rebuke the demons all you life

you can even try terretorial warfare and deal with the demonic princes over your area

But the main problem you have is coming from another believer

And if they are inspired by the enemy and use their spiritual power against you

They become a tool in the hands of the enemy to harm you

How do we deal with this?

Here is what the Word says

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue [that] will rise against you in judgment you will condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD [Yahweh], and their righteousness [is] of me, says the LORD [Yahweh]. [GBMV]

Spiritual power is always released into the earth using words

So when another believer releases the power of their spirit against you by speaking words against you

you come under a very strong attack

And the only way you can deal with this is to separate your spirit from that person

If there are more than one person coming against you, the effect is even stronger

now if you are married to someone who opposes you or your ministry

They are using the power of their spirit against you

In such a case it may eventually become necessary to end that marriage

And cut the cord that ties you together in the spirit

Now I am going to share with you one of my own experiences

and my intention is not to put down or condemn other people

But I want to show you how deadly this can become

And especially if the Lord has called you to a higher level ministry

you may face something like this also

I was married to a woman who was a believer and for a season she did not oppose my ministry

But she did not share my passion for the Lor

and she was drawn away into a relationship with someone else

We were married

16 years and had three children

I did my best to deal with every problems in our marriage an in our relationship in the Lord

I learned a lot of the kind of problems folks face in my personal experience

Eventually the time came when she decided she wanted this other person instead of me

She knew this was wrong, but she was caught

now to make matters worse, her parents who were believers were never fully in favor of me and my desire for ministry

The Lord led me to do erratic things in my prophetic preparation

AT one point I heard the Lord tell me to leave my job and then also leave the church where we were

It was the denomination I was ordained in and I was waiting for a chance to go back into ministry

Well my in laws thought I was totally deceived and fought me all the way

Whereas my own parents stood with me and provided for us

So with this back ground of having a wife who was not with me, and her entire family against me

I had great struggles to move into the calling of God on my life

Eventually she had enough and wanted out

I had tuaght her everything she needed to know about God’s order for marriage

in fact I was holding classes in a local bible school when she ran off with this guy

I cried out to the Lord and asked Him what to do\\

And he showed me a tree where one of the main branches had gone rotten

He told me that if I would cut that branch off my tree, He would graft back in its place a good branch

I had my children still living with me - she had move in with him

So I called my kids together and told them that the Lord had instructed me to divorce their mother

But the first move was not to go to the world

But to do it God’s way

So with my children as witnesses I cut that branch and asked the Lord to take her out of me foreever

You see only God can perform a divorce

The Scdripture says that what God has put together man cannot seperate

But God can

From that point my pain began to cease and I could let her go

And I saw that in time that branch would with away and die

I released her in the presence of the Lord to go to this man

and I proceeded to do my own divorce proceedings

And on the day of the divorce we stood together with her new man and joined hands before the Lord and made thigns final

Well I thought my in-laws would be pleased to get rid of me

But it seemed they now condemned me for divorcing their daughter

and their opposition became even stronger

But at least they were out of my life finally

What I did not realize though was that they continued to curse my ministry

and as the Lord brought me a new wife who stands fully by me

We faced many struggles

I warned her when I proposed to get ready for tough times

Because it seemed whatever I did always came only with a lot of effort

There was no bitterness left with my ex wife

And my new wife Daphne befriended her

they even began to start a business togethe

But my children were on a difficult place

I never made them feel they should choose between us

but they saw my commitment to the Lord and the lack in their mother

and they made their own choices

The problems only came when my kids starting to call Daphne Mom

Eventually there came a separation and they moved off into their own lives

And my daughters all became part of my ministry and stood with me

But then there came a time when each went their own way

And two of them made a choice to no longer be part of my ministry

When they did this, they naturally began to move more towards bonding with their mother

And then naturally with her parents

Until the time came when my eldest, in whom I had poured everything, began to lift us her grandparents and that side of the family, while cutting me out completely

And it seemed like there was still a link between us

I would come up with new ideas and she would get the same ideas

Yet we had no communication whatsoever

Then I watched her preaching in a church where she was invited and she boldly lifted up her grandparents - myu ex in laws and credited them with things that only my parents had done for the Lord

It felt sometimes like I was on a seesaa

seesaw

When they were up, we were down and vice versa

I grieved that they were building a ministry using all I had put into them, yet never acknowledging me

And eventually I got a chance to address this

But the refused to respond

The Lord told me that He had separated them from us because they were carrying a contamination from the other family

I am sorry to give you so much detail, but you will understand more what I want to share finally

I was grieved and disappointed because I made them what they are now, but they refused to acknolwedge me

Instead they gave credit to that side of her mothers family

And when I cried out to the Lord about this, He told me to do just one thing

He told me to do my daughter the same way I did my ex wfie

She was linked to me like a branch and needed to be cut off

So just over a week ago Daphne, John and I sat down together in the presence of the Lord

and I did a repeat of my divorce with my ex

I cut that cord that was still holding in the spirit and asked the Lord to remove her from me totally and finally

There was an amazing anointing and release

and we felt like a huge load lifted not only off of us, but off of this whole ministry

A day or so later we were talking and Daph said

I do not know if I am imagining this, but I feel like something has lifted and gone

The air is suddenly clear

and I felt it too

And the Lord opened my eyes to see that this entire ministry had been covered over with this huge bad mantle

And when I cut the final cord that was holding it in place, there was an immediate release

i cannot tell you enough of how many years I have struggled to find out what has been holding this ministry back.

I have dug into my whole life to see where I had opened a door or given the enemy licens

And now suddenly it is all gone

And we are moving to a place now where we have been prevented from moving before

This ministry has remained in obscurity, even though we are visible online

But now it is all changing

and it is almost like we are starting out all over again

I wanted to share this with all of you who have been with us and seen our struggles through the years

And I also want to point out that many of you have also struggled to break free because this mantle that was covering us was also being passed to you

So look out for member of your family that have opposed you in the workd of the Lord

If they are unbelievers, they have no power

But more mature believers are the most dangerous

It may cost you to cut those cords

I knew that when I cut this cord with my daughter I was to no longer see her as my daughter any more

In fact two of my three daugthers turned against me like this, and I had to cut them off

The Lord has shown that blood ties and family should never take preference in the spiritual realm

Jesus even said this when they told Him that his family were present

He pointed to His disciples and said, “These are my family”

So cutting cords may sometimes involve more than just a prayer and a cutting in the spirit

If someone continues to be an open door to the enemy it may necessary to carry out what Jesus refered to as full amputation

Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand offends you, cut it off, and cast [it] from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not [that] your whole body should be cast into hell [Gehenna]. [GBMV]

Ok folks that was a long session, but it ends our study for now on bad mantles

I hope that more will come out when I preach these and there will be more in the final book

Let Him show you any remaining cords that must be cut
