How Satan Attacks the Body

Satan does attack the body as well, and I am going to go through this quickly before we end.

Our bodies are blocked from becoming productive through weakness and disease. How does Satan attack our bodies? We saw that he can attack us with spirits of infirmity. But you see we are meant to make our bodies as productive as possible.

Let me ask you a simple trick question. What can you do to make your body as healthy and productive as possible? It is a simple question without getting into medical stuff.

You don't even need to have studied much to know the answer. You need to eat healthy and you need to exercise your body. Everyone knows that.

But let me ask you another question. Do you eat healthy and do you exercise your body?

The Joy of Eating

It is so subtle. Eating is a wonderful thing isn't it? It is one of the few pleasures in life and one of the basic desires of the body.

God gave it to you to enjoy and so that your body can remain healthy. And when you get hungry, your body is giving you a message that it needs food and you can then eat.

But we have added a few extra things to eating. We have made eating a social event where it is an entertainment. And let's face it, everyone likes entertainment and fun.

So we go out and eat in social circles. And we eat the kind of food that everybody else is eating because it is the 'in thing' to do. It is a good thing to do, because it will impress people when we invite them to a meal and give them fancy food.

Eating becomes an entertainment. And we eat and eat even though we are not hungry because it is an event.

Is there anything wrong with that? No, there is nothing wrong with having an event. But the enemy is going to take that and push you overboard on it. And it will get to the point where you want to go out and eat all the time to make yourself feel good.

Problems With Eating

Some people eat as an escape. They say, "I'm feeling stressed and a little down. Let's eat some food."

You are trying to use eating to meet a spiritual need and that is going to make your body unproductive. It is going to make you put on weight. You will become sluggish and your body will become unproductive.

The other one is,

"I like to eat without effort. I'm hungry but it is going to take 15 or 20 minutes to make a fast meal, or 40 minutes or a whole hour to cook a meal.

That is an hour of my day gone and a lot of work. Why don't we just pop down to the burger place and grab some junk food?"

It is quick and easy and saves me time because I'm lazy. We all do this and I am not trying to make myself super spiritual and say,

"I don't do it."

But you see it is the subtleness of the enemy. He wants to get our bodies disabled so that we are not as productive as we can be to produce wealth.

The Power of Exercise

And then there is exercise. You know I can't believe how anybody can be an exercise junky. I really don't, but people are like that.

The Lord bless them; I wish I was. It would probably do me a lot of good. But you know it is so much easier just to sit on the couch and watch TV.

You know people out there are doing vigorous exercise. They are going out and doing athletics and sports, so I sit and watch them do it on TV.

It reminds me of the old days in the royal palace where the child of the king, because he was the heir was not allowed to get disciplined. They got a whipping boy for that, so when he was naughty they give a hiding to the whipping boy.

That is what they used to do because the heir was not allowed to get punished. He was the heir so he couldn't get smacked and harmed, so the whipping boy had to take the punishment for him.

That is kind of what we are doing when we watch people doing exercise on TV. Somebody else is doing all the hard work and we are deluded into thinking,

"You know I'm really doing exercise. I love it. I can watch it for hours."

Then we have the shop on the corner just down the road. But you know I don't feel like walking all the way there. So I think,

"I'll just get in the car and take a ride because walking is an effort."

I am not into exercise. But you know the only exercise God gave Adam and Eve was walking. They didn't have any vehicles. They walked everywhere that they went.

That walking alone can be good for you. It has been proved that walking by itself is probably one of the most beneficial exercises that you can do.

So if you are having a problem with productivity or a problem with poverty and lack, maybe you should be looking at what you eat and how much exercise you are doing.

Perhaps you should be eating healthier food and you should only be eating when you are hungry. And perhaps you should be doing a bit more walking. It is not too hard to add that into your life is it?

Added Attacks from the Enemy

But you see Satan is going to help you to motivate all these wrong behaviors. And these are some of the things he is going to attack you with.

He is going to attack you with depression. And depression gets you to the point where you don't feel like doing anything.

A depressed person just sits and stares into space. The moment you do that you become unproductive, and your poverties are coming upon you so fast that you just need to blink and your finances are going down the tubes.

Satan attacks you with his demons with worry. And as I said before, worry leaves todays work undone and makes you concentrate on problems that don't exist. He will also attack you with fear, will paralyze you and make you become inactive.

How Poverty Creeps In

So how does poverty and lack come upon us? It comes from us being unproductive, by failing to use the resources that God has given us, and by allowing Satan to steal from us what God has given us.

It comes by us submitting to the world, instead of doing what God told Adam which was to subdue the world and to control it. We look to man as our source and come under the control of a human being instead of looking to the Lord as our source.

We wait for a natural savior and say,

"Maybe someone will give us some money. Maybe we will win the lottery."

And then we wallow in self-pity and get bitter against the Lord for not doing something. We fail to take the gifts that He has given us which can make us succeed.

In a Warfare

God wants you to prosper. He has given you everything that you need in order to do this. But realize that you have an enemy who wants you to stop you from walking in the blessing that God has for you.

If you are going to succeed you must know that you are in warfare. You are in a war and a battle. Every day when you get up and go out there you have a fight on your hands.

In the Garden of Eden, as a result of sin, Adam had to work against the ground. In the same way we have to work against the dust that gathers and work against the weeds that come.

If you do it on a regular basis you will be amazed you don't have to dust every day because it doesn't collect every day.

You don't have to dig weeds out of the garden every day. You just need to dig them out once and keep your eye on it for the moment they start to come again.

You just need to dust once and keep your eye on it, and when the dust comes take it off immediately. Don't wait until it is an inch thick. When it reaches that point you can't use an ordinary little duster. You have to scrub it off.

If you can keep on top of this on a daily basis you can win the fight and win the battle. Then you will see your finances beginning to change. Things will get better and better, your income will start to increase and your bank account will start to grow.

Then before you know it, instead of walking in poverty and lack, you will walk in the provision and abundance that God intended you to have.

Realize the origin of your poverty. Overcome it and you will never have to walk in poverty and lack again.
