Importance of Prophetic Ministry

I want to discuss the importance of prophecy or the Prophetic Ministry. Most folks have a limited view of what is involved in the functions of a prophet. Everyone rushes to those who get revelation and prophesy to somehow get a word from the Lord for themselves

We often have folks ask us for a prophetic word, and usually we tell them that we do not give words on demand. But we have found that when we minister to folks, inevitably, the lord will give us at least one prophetic word for them personally.

There is nothing wrong with this because we all at one time or another need a word from the Lord. No matter what your spiritual maturity or level of ministry. There comes a time when you need to hear what God is saying to you personally.

But there is far more involved in prophetic ministry than giving prophetic words or sharing prophetic revelations. So I want to clarify tonight how important the prophetic function is, and why we should all seek to be able to function in the prophetic gifts and anointing.

Prophetic An Essential Part of Apostolic

The apostle should be able to do all of them, but the main emphasis for the apostle is always first the Prophetic and then the Teaching ministries.

If you are not qualified to function in these two main ministries, you cannot be considered an apostle. No matter if someone prophesied over you that you are an apostle.If you have founded a church, this also does not make you an APOSTLE.

If I do not see clear signs of both prophetic and teaching ministry in you, then you are not ready to take the apostolic mantle.

Two Levels of The Prophetic

Tonight, I want to show you the main differences between these two so that you can understand where to head if you wish to function in effective ministry.

Paul considered the prophetic the highest and most important ministry. Here is what he said concerning spiritual gifts.

1 Corinthians 14:1 Pursue [agape] love, and passionately desire spiritual [gifts], but mostly that you may prophesy. [GBMV]

Now I find that if I ask folks which gifts they desire, the most common answer is in the area of the power gifts - healing and miracles etc

Elijah and Elisha a Model

Let’s begin tonight by answering this simple question. What is the main function of the Prophet?

The main function of prophetic ministry, is for encouragement

1 Corinthians 14:3 But the one that prophesies speaks to men and women [leading to] building up, encouragement, and motivation. [GBMV]

Main Purpose Of Prophetic Function

He moved on the early prophets to speak His word and much of what they wrote eventually became written down in the canon of Scripture, which we know as the Word of God.

Now God does not only speak to humans but He always speaks through humans. And he needs a person to release His words into the earth

Isaiah 55:11 So will my [rhema] word be that proceeds out of my mouth: it will not return to me without having an effect, but it will bring about what I desire, and it will accomplish what I sent it to do. [GBMV]

Not Always Given to People

Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD [Yahweh] was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD [Yahweh], and set me down in the midst of the valley which [was] full of bones,

Here a prophet spoke God’s words to a bunch of bones. The result was that they came together to form full bodies, but the bodies were dead

So God told him to prophesy to the wind.

Ezekiel 37:9 Then said he to me, Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus says the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

The words wind and spirit are the same in the Hebrew. So He actually spoke to the Spirit of god.

This ability to speak God’s word into the earth by a human makes man able to do some of what God did in the beginning. God spoke to the first creation and sent his words to create the world.

He has put a piece of His spirit into us, which gives us the ability to do some of this also. But ultimately, it is only His Word that carries the full power.

Causing Creation to Take Place

and giving them hope and promises from God for the future

Or direction from the Lord.

And actually every believer can do this. You do not need to be a prophet

But if you want to speak to things in this world to bring change, then you will need to move up into the higher level of the Prophetic Office.

The PropheticKey

You see this already way back in the Prophet Elijah. He went boldly to the King and said the following to him

1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, a resident of Gilead, said to Ahab, Before Jehovah, the living God of Israel, in whose presence I stand, there will not be dew nor rain in the years ahead, until I say so. [GBMV]

Elijah had the authority to stop the rain or restore it again. Notice he did not say, “God says I am going to stop the rain.” He basically said, “I am stopping the rain.”

Only a prophet in office carries this authority. In recent times, the Lord led me to move back strongly into the Prophetic Function. And I came to the place where I can give a word of prophecy to anyone at the drop of a hat.

If I minister to you either personally or in a video chat, I will inevitably get a prophetic word for you.

I always have my phone ready to record the audio for this purpose

and I record the prophetic words. Then I send a copy to the person to keep and relisten to.

Prophetic Ministry For Every Believer This is something that any believer can do. I could do it before I qualified for prophetic office. But when it comes to ministering to a person’s needs

Such as their health, wealth and relationships, I have tried to tap into the gifts of power and minister God’s power to them.

This works at times, but at other times it does not. I was trying to use a ministry mantle and it can be very effective. But you come against a lot of spiritual opposition and if the person does not co-operate with you in their spirit, often the anointing falls flat

Then you feel like you have failed; you have poured out all that you had and it was not enough. Then the enemy attacks you in a backlash.

So the Lord reminded me that I have a prophetic key, and that this key gives me authority in the earth.

Using The Key For Yourself

Some of the greatest healing ministries in the past could not bring healing to themselves. But the key gives something different. It gives authority rather than power

Of course, the most effective is when you combine these together. Demons sometime resist authority ,but they cannot resist the anointing.

Authority Plus Power

If a big truck refuses to stop when he holds up his hand there is little he can do physically.

But if he had a bazooka or was in a tank then it would be different. He could enforce his authority. So we do need both to work together.

But i learned when I first got the prophetic key, and then later the apostolic key, that I had a new authority level I could use.

Prophetic Decree

I call this prophetic decree. And this is what Elijah did when he stopped the rain.

Now you can also release healing using prophecy, and Elijah and Elisha are very good examples of this. Elijah found a widow woman who had only a little left - some oil and meal, and he asked her to make him a meal.

You can read the event here:

1 Kings 17:12 And she said, [As] the LORD [Yahweh] your God lives, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I [am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

Notice that the miracle which took place came as a result of the prophetic decree that Elijah made. You will see that all of the miracles of Elijah and Elisha happened like this - the power was released by prophecy.

So here you are sitting with your prophetic key, and you have never learned how to use it. You cry out to the Lord and ask Him to do something.

Moses And The Red Sea

Exodus 14:13 And Moses said to the people, Do not afraid, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD [Yahweh], which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom you have seen to day, you will see them again no more for ever. [GBMV]

But what did God say to him?

Exodus 14:15 And the LORD [Yahweh] said to Moses, Why are you crying to me? speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward:

God did not part the sea - Moses did, and he did it with the authority he had as a prophet. But most prophets who have qualified to receive the key never use it.

Many of you here have been trained by us up to office level and have received the prophetic key. But do you ever use the authority and power in it?

You can now prophesy to the things in this world. You can prophesy to the realm of darkness and command the demons to bow and flee.

But we cry out to the Lord and wait for Him to do it. You see, you are still speaking God’s word into the earth. But you are now not speaking to men and women with a message from the Lord - you are speaking to a situation as the Lord

The Gift of Faith

and with that you can decree healing, provision and a miracle.

There are many who feel called to the ministry of intercession, but most of the time they think this means they need to pray a lot and keep bringing requests to the Lord.

But we teach very clearly that intercession is not bringing requests to the Lord. It is coming to the Lord to find out what He wants - what His request is, and then releasing that into the earth and making it happen

Here is what Amos told us

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. [GBMV]

Why is this? Because God has given to mankind the authority in the earth

and He continues to work through that authority.

Failure of Mantles

Then, the Lord reminded me of my key. That key gives me the right to use His authority on the earth. Then, I can also prophesy to dead bones and make them come to life.

I can prophesy to my job, my family, and even my own body, and command health to come forth.

This is the power of the ministry of prophecy, and every believer should learn to use it

But if you wish to move up to the higher level, you need to be trained for prophetic office, and qualify to receive that key.

This is our goal in our prophetic school. Not only to teach you to speak prophetic words and get revelations, but to find out God’s will and release it into the earth.

More Than Prediction

But the true function of the prophet is not to predict what will happen

But to literally make it happen. To release the creative power of God into the earth.

For those of you who have received the prophetic key - I want to ask,

What are you doing with it?

And for those who desire to move up to that level of prophetic function. Are you enrolled in our prophetic school?

And for those who are enrolled and doing nothing, why are you not going. through the lessons, submitting projects and moving towards qualifying for office?

If you wish to make things happen in this world, it is the only way. Spending long periods in prayer and fasting to try and move God’s hand is not enough.

He has put that authority into the hands of men and women.

Prophesying To GBM I have started to prophesy to GBM and call it blessed. I have decreed new members and students coming in, and it has already began to happen.

I have declared an increase in our financial income so we can extend and do more. None of these things come by praying and hoping.

We often think that if this is God’s will then why does He not do something about it?

But instead of us waiting for Him it is the other way around. - He is actually waiting for us

Speak To The Mountain

We do not need to accept the attacks of the enemy on our circumstances, but we can prophesy to our circumstances and change them.

I would love to see all of you prophets standing with us in decreeing blessing on this ministry. And we as the leaders could sure use the extra blessing from you decreeing blessing upon us.

In the end we will all benefit and the Kingdom of God will be extended, sick folks will be healed instead of dying young.

I look forward to seeing many new prophets rising up and taking their place. You can practice prophetic words on one another. I prophesy over all my family members often, and every time we do personal ministry the same

Closing Prayer

I speak forth blessing in every area of life. May their fiances be blessed with new provision in abundance, but sickness and disease flee and good health manifest.

Give strength in place of weakness; give favor with everyone they meet and may we rise up together in His glory and power. May the Church of God arise and conquer this world system. Set the captives free.

This is the Lord’s doing, and it will be marvellous in our eyes. We thank you for it Lord. In Jesus name. I speak a new surge of power and removal of every work of darkness.

Hallelujah - get prophesying. let’s change this world for Him
