Each one something based on their personal abilities. And then he immediately went on his journey. And the one that had received the five talents went and traded with him, and made another five talents.
In the same way, the one that had received two, he also gained another two. But the one that had received one, went and dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master's money. Very well known passage of scripture, it's been preached on through the years.
Many different interpretations have been preached through the years. I'm not going to major on it tonight, it's just an illustration of where we're going. The title of my message is Developing Your Social Role.
Most of us, life gets a bit complicated sometimes. You know why? We have too many irons in the fire. Too many things we're trying to do at the same time.
So many things we want to accomplish, and we find it's rather difficult to accomplish in every single area of our life. So we run out of time, we run out of energy, we don't have the money to do what we want, and we get frustrated. We're running around like a cat chasing its tail sometimes.
Doing a lot of action and getting nowhere. The key is simplicity. And as somebody coined the term, the KISS principle.
Keep it simple, stupid. One of the most successful businesses right now, one of the most successful companies, is Apple. Under the leadership of the late Steve Jobs, who built the company up to be one of the most popular and successful companies.
Well, I can't say I would like to use Steve Jobs as my model of how we should live. But Steve actually applied one very simple principle that I believe brought Apple out of the doldrums into being one of the most prominent companies. He applied the principle of keeping it simple.
He decided to scrap all the many different products that the company had and zero in on just a handful. And all development and effort was poured into those limited number of products, so that each of those products then became very successful, and as a result, put the company in the place that it is right now. And anybody today that has a mobile device knows the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad, and the iMac, and the i-everything.
And each year they release a new version of the same product. Principle is this. Instead of trying to scatter everything with the shotgun approach, we need to zero in on specific areas.
And if we can zero in on specific areas and pay our attention, our individual attention to each of these areas, we're more likely to succeed in life. That's like a real spiritual preach tonight, isn't it? We're talking about the social road now. We can talk about ministry and the spiritual side shortly.
But I want you to see we're speaking about life. We're speaking about a new road that we haven't really addressed very much, but is absolutely essential to our success in this world, especially as believers. You see, there are three roads that we all walk in this life.
And some of us pay more attention to one road than the others. But ultimately, in order to live a successful, full life, we need to be able to walk and function in each of these three roads. What are these three roads? The first one is our work life, that thing that you have to do every day, that place you have to go every day, sometimes, unless you're working for yourself and working from home.
It's something that we have to do. We have to do it, because our survival in this world is dependent on it. Now, a lot of the time, what you're doing is actually not what you want to do.
I think if a survey were done of how many people are doing the kind of job they would really like to do, we wouldn't have a very good show of hands. You see, because most of us are doing what we hate. In order to get the money that we need to survive in this world.
You see, if my work was what I want to do, what I want to do is to go to bed late at night, sleep late in the morning, do very little activity during the day, except when I feel like it. Just chill out and have fun, and do the things I enjoy. Oh, if only I could get paid for that, wouldn't that be wonderful? But we, nobody's paying for that kind of job.
You're not finding the ad in the paper, wanted. Somebody who just likes to chill out. Nobody's paying for that, you see.
So our work life is something we have to do, and unfortunately it takes a major part of our life. Half of our day is gone doing work, and the other half that's left, there's not much left because we've got to sleep in that as well. See, they don't let you sleep at work for some reason.
See, so the little bit of time we've got left, we're going to do everything else in. And we all know the work road. We all know the work road because we have to walk that road.
That's an essential to life. Without walking on that road, we cannot live in this world. I know some believers seem to think that if I could just step into faith and believe God to provide my needs, I can stop working.
But the scripture doesn't teach that. The scripture says, if any man will not work, then neither let him eat. So you can't get away from this road.
We have to walk this road, whether we like it or not. Now there's a second road. And the second road is our ministry life.
And believers don't have this road. They've only got two. We'll get to the third one shortly, which is the main road we're going to be looking at tonight.
The second road is our ministry road. And our ministry life is something that we do for the Lord. Because we love Him, and we want to please Him, and we want to serve Him.
It's also something we do out of love for other people. We want to be a blessing. We want to help.
Our ministry life gives our life meaning. It gives us a sense of, I'm doing something relevant in this world. I'm not just a little number, a little cog in somebody else's machinery, as I am at work.
But I have a purpose in life to serve God and to work for Him and to extend His kingdom in the earth. Nobody's forcing us to do this. The Lord doesn't come down on us and say, Now that you're a Christian, you better start ministering now.
We're not coerced into ministry. We do it out of joy. We do it out of love.
We do it out of a motivation to please Him. And if your attitude is right, out of a motivation to help others and to bless them. And then the third road is our social life.
What is our social life? Something we want to do. Something we really want to do. Something that meets a deep need inside of us.
Something that sets us apart and makes us different and unique. And you know what? Nobody forces us to walk on this road. In fact, sometimes somebody needs to hold us back because we'd rather walk this road than the other two.
I would rather spend my day having fun than sit and spend the whole day at work. I would rather do this than spend the whole day trying to minister to people who don't appreciate it. Now, yes, there's a price to pay in ministry.
You've been in ministry; you know what I'm talking about. The social road, actually, is the road we all want to walk. It's the road we all wish we could walk.
But you see, our work life very often stops us. And when you put in a full day at work, and you come home, and all you have is that few hours left before you have to go to bed and sleep so that you have the energy to get up and work again tomorrow, there isn't exactly much time to walk the social road. Maybe you've got the weekend, it finally comes.
And if you're involved in ministry, Sunday's usually gone. So that leaves you Saturday. That doesn't leave us much time to walk this social road, does it? But yet, it's natural to all of us, after we've had our time of work, we want a time of rest and relaxation.
We want a time of doing something I feel like doing, doing something I enjoy doing, something I have to do. And you know what? God made us this way. It's not a sin to have these desires.
God created them in us, and unfortunately, because of the pressures of society and the world in which we live, most people are not fulfilling that side of their life. They work hard, they drive themselves, and before you know it, life is over. You never got to doing anything relevant in this world, except work.
And you may have accomplished great things in your work, you may have followed a career and risen up in your job, and that may have given you a sense of accomplishment, but as you get older, you find that the toll that you have put on your body and your soul and your spirit have burned you out. You begin to suffer physical illness, and life no longer has meaning, and you're just purely existing. God designed us to have an area of our life, the social road, and it's an essential part of our life.
And that is why God actually created us to want to do that. You know, God has built things into us to make us function naturally in this world. You see, when it comes to food, and that's another whole department, we'll look at that in detail later, you see, I tend to eat the things that taste nice.
And God's built into us tastes and smells that make us want to do that. See, when the gardener comes and mows the lawn, I don't say, now please just keep aside all that mowed lawn, because I can't wait to eat it. We don't do that.
See, we weren't designed to eat lawn. We weren't designed to eat grass. You know, animals are different, they love it.
But we're created that way. See, God has put desires in us, appetites in us, that He has provided a way for us to fulfill. When God made Adam originally, placed him in the garden, there he was, in the most beautiful, luscious garden, all the beautiful fruits, everything around him, all the different animals, and they were all obeying him, he was the big boss, he was in charge.
Wow, he was in this beautiful country, had all the treasures, and all the beauty. What more could a man want? I mean, you think Adam would have been really so happy, but he wasn't. He wasn't.
You know why? Because he didn't have a social life. He had a spiritual life, yes, where he met with God every day in the Garden of Eden, and he had a job to do to keep the garden up. But he had no social life.
Life was dull, it was boring. And God looked down on him and said, I'm going to give him what he needs to give his life meaning. So God created the woman and brought it to him, and now Adam had other human beings to interact with.
You see, the social life is very much involved, as we'll see shortly, in interacting with other human beings. Now we have three needs in life. We walk those three roads, but we have three needs that must be met in order for us to walk on these roads effectively.
The first need that we have is health. See, without good health, you can't do anything anyway. If your body is not in a state of health and good condition, you can't function in this world.
Unfortunately, we usually take our health for granted, unless we're sick. We take it for granted. We don't think about taking care of our health to make sure that we are the most efficient we can be in this world as we walk on those roads.
No, we go excitedly on the roads that lie before us, apply ourselves. And if you're on the work road, and work is really a pressured job, what you're doing all the time, you begin to neglect your health. You're like a person driving a car with your foot flat on the pedal all the time.
You know, a brand new car can handle that for a while, but eventually things begin to wear out. The car is not designed to run on full speed all the time. And eventually something begins to break down.
You can't run full speed anymore. You've got to get it fixed. That's what happens to these bodies of ours.
If we don't keep them in good condition, we'll eventually not be able to go on these roads at all. We won't be able to function in this world. Now, God has provided a way for us to walk in health.
And walking in health is essential to all of these roads. So while on the one hand we see three areas of life that we can be involved in, we see also three essentials to life that will enable us to efficiently get involved on those roads. And the first one is our health.
The second one is wealth. You see, in this world, nothing comes for nothing. Nothing that we do comes free.
We've got to pay for it. To pay for it, we need finance. We need wealth.
See, now God has also provided a way for us to accumulate wealth. And here's the mistake we make. Your job is seldom the source of wealth.
It takes more than hard work to become wealthy. It's workers involved. But there are a lot of hard-working people out there who have no wealth, at times are even in poverty, and are barely surviving in this world.
They work hard. They put in long hours. But that's not the key to wealth.
See, it takes a bit more than hard work. It takes talent. It takes skill.
It takes additional ability to generate wealth. Now, wealth is also essential to all three of these roads. See, you need money.
I know that your work provides money, but you're going to need money to get to work. You're going to need money to have clothes for work. You're going to need money to do everything.
You're going to need money to do the work of the ministry. You're going to need money to do the fun things that you enjoy in your social life. Without wealth, you cannot walk any of the roads.
The third essential need in life is relationships with other people. No man is an island. We all need each other.
See, and as I said, Adam was pretty miserable until Eve came along. It's not enough. It's not enough to have all of these other things.
If we don't have somebody to share it with, we don't have people to interact with. See, now, God wants us to increase our social circle. He wants us to develop relationships with more and more people.
But you see, this is essential, again, to all three roads. You cannot work alone. Who are you working for? What are you working for? It's impossible.
Well, I have my job. I go to work every day. Where? You know, the place where my boss is.
Oh, so you have a boss. Well, that's at least one other person. You cannot work alone.
You cannot accomplish anything alone. And you cannot minister without having somebody to minister to. I mean, it's common sense, isn't it? Now, could it be that if we had more relationships, we may have more work opportunities? Could it be if we had more relationships, we could have more ministry opportunities? And yet, we so often neglect this part of our lives, and we're happy with our small little circle of influence and people that we know.
And we just go on our way, never developing any further. And then we complain, well, you know, I'm not really succeeding in life. I'm not really accomplishing my full potential.
I don't really know what I'm living for. So you cannot have a social time all by yourself. I'm going to sit down tonight, and I'm going to chill out.
You say, yes, I can. I can sit and watch TV. There's people on TV.
What are you going to watch? Scenery. You spend an hour watching the lake. See, that's not a social life.
You cannot have a social life without people. God expects you to have a social life because he created people. Those three essential needs must be met.
And once they're met, we then have within us the ability and the resources to begin to walk on these three roads. Not just one of them, not just two of them, but all three of them. Sometimes we make the mistake of zeroing in on one.
And so you have the person who's a workaholic, who lives for work, who finds their satisfaction and accomplishment in their work. But you're no use to the Lord at all because you're too busy working to do any ministry. And you're not a very nice person to be around.
So you have no social life. And one day after you've accomplished so much in your work, you're going to sit all alone and say, what happened? Here I am, I'm still single, but you know, I've got a great accomplishment in my work. I've fulfilled my career.
I've got a position. I've worked myself up. And I'm all alone.
What was God's pattern in the first place? So how then do we develop this social life? How do we walk this third road? Well, firstly, you're going to need health, wealth, and relationships. So that's a good starting point. I don't think any of those is automatic.
Nothing's automatic. What's automatic in this world is destruction. Ever since the curse that came as a result of Adam's sin, nothing comes automatically.
Before that it did. The trees and the plants grew automatically. The rain and everything came down automatically.
Everything was great. But the moment the curse came in, now Adam had to work against the ground to make it produce its goodness. Because it yielded weeds.
Before it yielded naturally. Now you've got to work against it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could just sit by and see the wealth come in? It doesn't.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could have this perpetual motion where we start something and leave it going? I just start this job and leave it going and keep producing. People advertise this in marketing sometimes. You know, I just spend an hour a week.
I put this thing together and it just keeps going. No, no. There was a lot more that was put in in the beginning.
See? Because what you put in is what you get out. What you sow is what you shall reap. God has set the world up this way.
So what we need to do in order to succeed is we need to develop our talents. The entire social road revolves around talents and skills. See, it's very necessary for us to function all of these areas, for us to have some kind of abilities.
See, our talents and our skills enable us to work better. They enable us to minister better. See, they also make us more likely to succeed in life.
So how do we go about this? How do we come to a place where we can rise up and live the kind of life God intended us to in this world? How can we rise up and effectively walk on all of these roads and be successful? How can we rise up and do all of these things? Well, we're going to have to change what we are. Because if you stay the way you are and you don't do anything about it, you're going to stay exactly where you are. So some kind of activity, some kind of action is necessary for us to break out of this place we are and to rise up to live the kind of life God intended us to live.
The first thing you need to do is you need to discover your talents. You need to discover your talents. Well, how do I discover my talents? I just got it in a dream.
I had this awesome dream, and in my dream I could see that I have a talent. And when I woke up, I knew what my talents and abilities were. It hasn't happened to me yet.
It hasn't happened to me. Well, you know, I'll get very spiritual about this. I'm going to pray, and God is going to reveal to me by the Spirit what my talents are.
That could happen. It could happen. If your talent is going to be specifically related to ministry.
And very often we do this. Very often in the prophetic ministry we get revelation where we tell people what God has for them, what God wants to do for them. But you see, that's not a talent, that's a calling.
There's a big difference. I did a series which I usually call the twins. The first one is fulfilling your ministry calling.
The second one was using your ministry gifts. And in using your ministry gifts, I taught that in order to be effective for the Lord in ministry, we should learn to not rely on our natural gifts and abilities. That we should sacrifice them to the Lord and give them to Him and let Him resurrect the ones that He wants to use in ministry.
I'm not going to take back what I taught there, but I'm about to produce a very new teaching that's very different. It's going to teach you to discover your natural talents. And to actually go beyond that to develop those talents.
And there's three D's. Discover your talents, develop your talents, and then demonstrate them. Because we're not on the ministry road now, we're on the social road.
So I'm going to be teaching things that may be a little bit different. I'm going to be taking approaches that you may find are strange. Because we're looking at life from a different viewpoint.
We're looking at a different road. And we're not putting the ministry road aside. We're not putting the business road aside.
Because all three are walked together. But we need to understand what's involved in walking the social road. Because unless you're doing that effectively, you're not going to be effective in ministry, and you're not going to be effective in business.
So for a season, we're going to just set aside the ministry side. We're going to put aside the work and the business. And we're going to look purely at your talents and abilities from a social viewpoint.
And this is going to become an entire series. It's going to cover all aspects of life. It's going to cover health, wealth, and relationships.
It's going to cover principles of success. It's going to embrace the arts and other skills and talents and abilities. As we read at the beginning, we saw how the man gave talents.
It's very interesting that the word talent was used. Because the talent that he gave them was not an ability, it was money. But somehow I believe God used that word so that we could allegorize that and develop it into something different and see it as a potential to develop an ability.
The person who was given the five talents, he did something with them. He developed them. He got another five.
The person with two did the same thing. The person with one did nothing. Just hid it in the ground.
And it remained in the condition that it is. Well, what have you been given? Five, two, or one? Because every one of us has been given something. Because we're human.
And God has put a piece of himself into each of us. And God has put into every single person talents, abilities, skills. Now, the talents that were given by this man, according to the scriptures, were given according to their personal ability.
There's a reason he gave the one man five. And that one, two, and the other one, one. Because he assessed them, what they were capable of.
He looked at what they had the ability to do with those talents. Now, not everybody gets five. Not everybody gets two.
Some of us, unfortunately, end up with one. We don't have to stay that way. That's the beauty of it.
So, how do you discover your talents? Firstly, you've got to get into action. Your talents will manifest while you're doing something. If you're standing doing nothing, neither you nor anybody else will know whether you've got any talents or abilities at all.
Until you step out to take action, anything that is resident within you is going to remain stagnant and static. Like the man who took his talent and hid it in the ground. Only when you begin to put those talents into practice, will they manifest and become visible.
Well, I don't know what my talents are. What have you been doing? Well, nothing. I'm waiting for a revelation of what my talents are.
You're never going to find out. You're never going to find out. You're going to have to take the risk.
Try something. But what if it fails? Okay, firstly, a lot of the time, you will not see in yourself what other people see in you. Until you start to do something, you're not going to have somebody say, Hey, you're pretty good at that.
Did you know that? Well, I didn't think it was that good. No, no, no, really. Really, you should develop that.
You're actually pretty good at it. Then you feel motivated. You know what, I didn't realize I had an ability.
I thought, well, everybody can do that, can't they? No, they can't. You seem to do it better. And then you get the opposite.
Don't give up your day job. Don't give up singing to the Lord because he's the only one who can appreciate it. But please don't make the rest of us suffer.
Well, that's a risk you're going to have to take. It's a risk you're going to have to take. And sometimes the responses you're going to get are actually not honest.
They're based on jealousy and envy. Because people are envious of what you can do and they want to put you down in case you rise up and look better than them. So you're going to get positive responses and you're going to get negative responses.
But you're going to find out sooner or later whether you've got a talent or not. And whether your talent lies in that particular activity. But talents are things we do.
You know, I have the potential. I have a talent to really write. Will anybody ever find that out until I write? I have a talent to sing.
You'll never know it until I open my mouth with music. To sing. Find out what your talent is by taking action.
And if you get a negative response, it's not the end. You're going to have to know how to handle the responses. Of course, a positive response may not mean anything either.
Somebody may say, well, you really sing great. You know, they tone deaf themselves. It's really not a good recommendation from somebody who knows nothing about music to say, I really love your singing and your playing.
It means nothing. So don't base everything on that. But you'll start to get a bit of a guideline as to whether you have any talents that have really been given to you.
Try everything. See what works. Try everything.
I don't really think I'm capable of doing that. Have you tried? Some years ago, somebody tried to sell me life insurance and I couldn't afford it. And he said, well, have you thought about selling a life insurance? I said, I've never sold anything in my life.
I don't know if I could do that. He persuaded me to go for an interview. And the only reason I went was the possibility of making money.
But the first thing I said to the man interviewing me, he said, I don't know if I could sell. I mean, I'd love to do this job. I would love to make the kind of money that's there.
I don't know if I can sell. I've never tried it before. Gave me a few things to do to see if I could persuade people.
Do you know what? I discovered I could sell. I discovered I could sell. I stepped out and got that job and found out I could actually persuade people to buy life insurance.
Now, if I hadn't taken action and tried it out, I would never have found out. I had a relative one day who said to me, I've been writing songs. Well, I've been playing guitar for years.
I played other musical instruments. I could play music and sing. But I never thought of writing a song.
I said, what do you mean? He said, I hear some of my songs. I'll play them for you. I thought, this guy doesn't know nearly as much about music as me.
I really don't think he's even got the emotional capability to write songs. But here he was writing songs. And I thought to myself, you know what? If he can do it, I'm sure I can do it.
Let's give it a bash. Let's give it a try. I sat down and started trying to write down some words.
And I discovered I was a poet. I could write things that rhymed. I could write nice little poems.
All I need to do is to find out some way of putting a bit of music to them. And you know what? It became songs. And before I knew it, I was churning out song after song after song.
You see, nobody ever came to me and prophesied and said, thus says the law. I've called you to be a songwriter. You have this divine ability.
Nobody ever said to me, I can see that you have the ability to write songs. Well, you can see they have the ability to play music. See, if I hadn't tried it and tested it, I would never have found out whether I have that ability or not.
So if you want to find out what your talents are, go and try a few things. I've never tried that before. Try it.
You'll be amazed. You'll be amazed. You'll discover that actually I can do that.
I never thought I could, but I can. See, the moment you succeed in what you've done, it's an immediate sign that you do have existing talents. Now here's the mistake that most people make.
They think that talent comes full blown. See, I was born with the ability to paint pictures and to draw and to sing and to write. I'm told that the great artist Monet couldn't draw to save his life or paint when he started out.
Pictures were no different than what you and I could do. How did he become famous? He was not born with it. He developed it.
And the same goes with many of the things out there. He was just born with a beautiful voice. It doesn't mean that he knows how to use it.
See, yes, we have been born with certain abilities or we developed them through our life. Some of us have better physical capabilities than others. These are some of the gifts and talents we've been given.
But they don't come full blown with full capability. They need to be developed. So where do your talents lie? They lie in three areas of your being.
Your body, your soul, and your spirit. I went back to using your ministry gift. You'll see I covered them in quite a lot of detail there.
I'm going to have to redo them now. They're a totally different approach. How do you develop your body's talents? Well, you might have to diet a bit and lose a bit of weight.
Or you change what you eat to make your body more healthy. You may have to exercise a bit to build the muscles that are needed to use that talent. See, even my talent's going to be playing rugby.
Trust me, I'm not going to do it by sitting at my desk all day and eating junk food. It's not going to happen. See, I'm going to have to develop that talent.
And if that talent needs my physical body, I'm going to have to do something with it. And then I'm going to have to practice, practice, practice, practice, and practice again to develop. I know everybody tells me I'm pretty good at this.
Are you happy with being pretty good? Are you happy with your five talents? Are you happy with your two? If you are, you're going to be like the guy who buried his talent in the ground. So I'm happy with my one talent. I'll just sit with it.
You don't have to stay with what you were given. You can develop it and increase it and make it far greater. You need to develop the talents of your soul.
How? Through studying, developing your mind, through learning to release and control your emotions, through learning to take action, discipline your will. You need to develop your spirit's talents. How? Through meditating, through revelation, through faith and hope and love.
So many different things. All different ways of developing talents. And then, what if I don't have a talent? What if after going through all this I discover I'm actually just pretty useless at everything? Well, can you walk? Can you talk? Can you stand up and sit down? That's a talent.
It's an ability. Can you speak? Can you shout? Can you get somebody's attention? See, maybe you need to look a little bit closer to what you have. Yes, you do have abilities, but not all of us seem to naturally get these abilities.
So am I stuck now for life with what I was given? No. But you see, I was given the same thing that everybody else was given. I was given a spirit and a soul and a body.
You know, that person was just naturally gifted in their singing, and they sing like an angel. I can't sing to save my life. Are you able to talk? Yes.
Well, do you know what is used to both talk and sing? It's two little flaps of skin that sit together like this and they vibrate. It's called vocal cords. It's all they are, just two flaps of skin.
Vibrate. Well, why is it that when my skin vibrates it sounds terrible, and when your skin vibrates it doesn't sound terrible? Oh, maybe you've got better skin. I don't know.
I don't think so. Is it possible that I can teach my skin to do different things? See, I've got the same inherent talent. I've got the same gift, the same equipment.
I just need to develop my equipment and make it more effectively, work more effectively. You see what I'm saying? So don't ever be caught in this idea that you were born with a talent and you've either got it or you don't have it. God made you in his image.
He made you with creative ability. He made you to do whatever you set your heart to do. Back in the book of Genesis we read that people began to get together and build a tower that would reach up into the heavens to make a name for themselves.
And God said, I can see that the man that I've created will do whatever he sets his heart to do. You are able to accomplish whatever you set your heart to do because you are not an animal. You are a human being, and you are made in the image of God, and you have built into you the capability of becoming what you choose to be.
So you were stuck with one talent. Develop it into two, and then into four, and then into eight, and then into 16 before you know it's in the millions. Don't have to stay where you are.
You can develop it. Perhaps you just need somebody to help you to develop it. Perhaps you need a bit of teaching and a bit of training on how to discover your talents and develop them.
That's what this social road is about. That's what this entire training course is about. Tonight is simply the introduction to something that's going to expand into something really huge.
And I'm going to be covering every aspect of what God has taught me from my own experience in getting into the Scriptures, and based on everything that God has for us, we're going to learn how to develop what is needed to walk on that social road and to make it effective in our lives, so that we walk those three roads together at peak efficiency, becoming the kind of person God created us to be. The final stage after you've developed your talents is to demonstrate. What's the use of having a talent if you don't use it? That's when we begin to develop them and demonstrate them to the people around about us.
We begin to show them to the world. You begin to add them to your work and add them to your ministry, and you become more effective in your work and more effective in your ministry, and you grow up and you develop into something magnificent. It's like God designed you to be.
We have all of these three main areas of our life that need attention. Perhaps you work because you have to, but you can transform your work by adding something more to it. Perhaps you minister because you want to, but you can add more to your ministry to make it more satisfying, to accomplish far more for the Lord.
You need to find something that you're enjoying and use that as your starting point. Develop that. Add to it.
Before you know it, you're going to be walking a road that you've perhaps neglected in your life for many years. It's time we look at that road. It's time we stop being so spiritual that we think it's carnal and it's worldly.
You know, Christians are not allowed to have fun. It's like people who say that sex is not meant to be enjoyed. It's only for making babies.
We miss what God has for us. God wants us to enjoy life. He wants us to be happy and to have a sense of accomplishment.
You can't accomplish that in work or ministry unless you've added the right social dimension. And once you've added that, before you know it, your circle of influence, your relationships will begin to increase. Your health will take on a new dimension.
Your wealth will begin to grow. And you'll rise up and become the kind of person that God made Adam to be in the first place. I don't know about you, but I want to get there.
With the Lord's help, we're going to try and find a way, based on His Word, walking this social road.
