These signs shall follow them that believe... they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

The Lord was saying that you can take the same power that is within your spirit, that you have caused to reach out and produce healing in your own body, and you can impart the same healing to somebody else.

You have learned to release the forces in your spirit of faith, hope and love. When you speak forth in authority and power, the anointing power of God within you can go out from you as you lay your hands on a sick person.

If you do this the Word of God says that they shall recover. You might say,

"But I don't have the gift of healing." 

You do not need the gift of healing. The Scripture does not say they will be instantly and miraculously healed. It says,

… they shall recover.

It means that as you impart to that person the anointing power that is in your spirit, you give their body some extra energy.

There is a power coming from you that is shining like a light in the darkness. It enters that person's body and causes their body to take control again and to heal itself. 

All that you are doing is joining forces with their body against the sickness and disease. Their body is already fighting it as hard as it can. All you do is to add some of the power you have to it and increase that power. 

You accelerate the healing power so that the natural healing power is amplified and increased. There is no reason why you cannot lay your hands on such a person often - again and again. 

If you have somebody in your family that is sick, there is no reason why you cannot pray over them and lay your hands on them saying,

"In the name of Jesus I believe you are healed. In the name of Jesus I speak forth the healing power of God." 

Maintain the Pressure

Do it every day; several times a day. Continue to do it until the sickness and disease flee.

There is an anointing power and a healing virtue that is flowing out of you. Perhaps it is not very strong, but if you keep doing it something is going to happen. 

I often use this illustration to try and describe this. I use lots of scientific explanations, so please forgive me if you are unscientific. 

Imagine that you have hung a large, heavy steel bar by a string so that it is dangling in the air. Now imagine that you have also hung next to it a little cork on a string.

If you were to pull the cork back and let it fly towards the metal, it would hit the steel bar and bounce off. It is just a light little cork and will have no effect on that big steel bar at all. 

But here is something interesting. They have proved that every time you pull that cork back and you let it hit the steel bar, it imparts a bit of energy into that bar.

If you will keep doing it again and again, 24 hours a day, seven days a week continuously, something amazing begins to happen. After a while the steel bar starts to move, until eventually it is swinging in unison with that little cork. 

You might say, "Well I don't have a big faith for healing. I don't have a terrific power in my spirit.

How can I pray for someone if the person is dying of cancer? How can my feeble little faith and my feeble little prayer have any effect against that illness?" 

Well it does not have to stay feeble. We have been teaching you in this book how to amplify it. Nevertheless you can take your feeble little faith and start hitting the cancer steel bar again and again, over and over.

Speak to it, lay hands on the sick and send forth the healing power of God from your spirit. If you do this I tell you what is going to happen. The person is going to start recovering. 

But we don't do that do we? We want instant results. We live in an instant society where somebody must come and lay hands on us. They must speak forth the Word of authority and say,

"In the name of Jesus be healed!"

And suddenly it is gone. I walk out miraculously healed. If I do not walk out miraculously healed I get all discouraged and depressed and say,

"I don't know why God didn't want to heal me." 

That is why so many believers do not receive it, because they think it has to be instant and miraculous. There is a power, there is a healing light and there is virtue.

There is energy that pours forth from a child of God who believes. If we would only speak that power continuously in our own bodies and into the bodies of other people, we would see divine health and healing manifesting. 

Speak Health Daily

When is the best time to speak it? After you are sick? When you are lying in your bed suffering with sickness and in pain? Then you suddenly want to wake up and say,

"Oh, by His stripes I am healed. In Jesus' name I speak forth healing." 

It is not too late, but it is going to take you longer to sort out. You should be speaking healing to your body every day.

When you get up in the morning you should be speaking healing to your body. At night before you go to sleep you should be doing the same and speaking healing to your body. 

When the Lord first really began to quicken this to me, it became so real to me that I began to lie in bed at night and touch my body from my head to my toes. I began to speak to each part of my body and say,

"Okay, now scalp you don't have to be bald. There are hair follicles there that can grow. You will grow. I speak to you now in the name of Jesus." 

What about my eyes? They are a bit slow. I have to keep speaking to them. I want to get rid of my glasses. I do not want them anymore. I want my vision to be improved. 

You say, "But with old age you can't help it. Muscles in the eyes tighten." 

I don't care. I will keep speaking to my eyes until they start improving; until I have to get new glasses because my current ones are too strong, or until I do not need glasses anymore. 

I will keep speaking to my nose and my nasal passages, to my ears and to my throat. I will speak to my chest and my lungs, my heart and my kidneys, to my stomach and intestines and every part of my body.

I will speak to my nervous system, to my circulatory system and to my digestive system. I will keep speaking to them and saying,

"In the name of Jesus you are blessed and you function perfectly. In the name of Jesus I speak divine health upon you. I call you blessed. I call you healthy. I call you functioning the way God intended you to function." 

Do you know what is going to happen? It is going to be easy to walk in divine health.

But I will tell you where the problem occurs. It occurs when sickness and disease reach the point where the symptoms are so strong that all you can see are the symptoms.

Your body has then reached the point where it can no longer cope with the sickness and disease. Then what do you do? You have to exercise your faith and it is very difficult to do it.

Role of Medical Science

When you are in this position you need external help to get you back to the place where your body is in control. That is where medical science comes in. 

Perhaps you think that I have been teaching that you do not need to see a doctor anymore or you don't need to take medication anymore.

No, that is not what I am teaching at all. I am saying that we can come to the place where we do not need to see these people. 

If your body is sick you had better get some help. Just understand one thing though; medical science cannot heal. Only your spirit within can bring a change on the physical.

Your healing has to come from within. But I will tell you what medical science can do. It will give your body something to help it in its fight against disease. 

The medication that the doctor prescribes for you will assist your body. It will motivate and increase the body's natural healing process so that it is better able to cope with the disease and remove it. 

Surgery may sometimes be necessary to take out a diseased portion that cannot be recovered. You may have to cut it out and take it out of the way, so that the body now is strengthened and able to heal itself and fight that disease. 

Perhaps you need to take painkilling medication to remove the symptoms of your disease. When you are in pain you can see only pain. You can see only sickness and disease.

You cannot see healing. And you cannot build a spiritual template for your healing, because in your mind you are feeling pain. 

In your mind you are thinking negative. In your emotions you are feeling depressed and discouraged because your body cannot function the way it should be. And with your mouth you are not saying,

"By His stripes I am healed."

Instead you are usually saying,

"Ooh I'm really suffering. I'm so sore today." 

You are giving your spirit the wrong template, so deal with these things. Get some external help and get rid of the symptoms. 

Then get back and put in that spiritual template, and start speaking forth,

"I am redeemed from the curse. By His stripes I am healed. Healing is mine. It is the bread of the children." 

Receiving Healing

In conclusion, how do you receive divine healing? 

Firstly, recognize the sources of life; the forces that are in your spirit. Secondly, develop a template for healing. John said in 3 John 1:2:

Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Your soul must prosper before the divine health is going to come. And for your soul to prosper, your mind must be filled with pictures of health and strength. 

In your mind you must see yourself running around doing healthy things. Your emotions and your desires must be stirred towards that. And your words and your will must be exercised towards that. 

Amplify the forces of your spirit. Take the Word of God and speak it over and over again. 

Say, "By His stripes I am healed. In the name of Jesus I am healed. These signs shall follow them that believe."

Then bind the forces of darkness. Come against those demons of infirmity that are attacking your body. Take authority over them in the name of Jesus and cast them out. Then continue to speak forth the healing power. 

Lay your hands on the part of your body that is sore. Then close your eyes and see that part as being healed. Speak to it and say,

"You are healed. I call you healed and I call all pain gone. I speak to you now in the name of Jesus. I send forth the authority and the anointing power of the Spirit of God. Be healed now in Jesus' name." 

Divine health is the bread of the children. We should all be walking in it. Learn to walk in it now while you are healthy, and maintain that divine health. Then when sickness and disease come, your first response will be,

"Oh no you don't; don't you dare!" 

Do not let the spirit of infirmity take hold of you. But if you have already reached that point, start to exercise your faith and get another believer to come and lay hands on you over and over again. 

Get them to stand together in agreement with you and speak against that thing.

Go and get some medication or get some medical treatment. Use every resource that is available to you, until you break free into what God has for you.

Walking in divine health is what He intended for us in the first place.
