The Need For Healing

Since I announced we are relaunching things, we feel like we got hit by a huge wave. One of the main attacks we have suffered has been on our bodies.

That is why I decided to put together the album of healing songs. They contain all the principles on healing plus an anointing.

But the enemy has even attacked that, and we have never had more problems trying to put these recordings together. I guess I have not done this for a while and had to refresh my memory on the right procedures.

Then, we needed to get our vocal chords in order. Colds and a lot of phlegm do not help, so it has been a real fight from the beginning, but we are slowly getting there.

I am now adding the final touches on multiple harmonies. This alone has been a huge task, so we have been working flat out to finish this album.

I modified only two songs today and reuploaded them—the first and the last one. I don’t think anyone realizes the amount of work required to get these things together, and we have limited equipment. But in the end, it is worth it.

All of us here have needed this to help overcome the attack on our bodies. Let me use this to get into our study tonight.

We have prayed for one another, but sometimes that is just exhausting and the results do not always come like we hoped. So we have had to revert to what the Lord has taught us.

All You Need Is Inside You

Everything we need is already inside of us through the Spirit. So we need to tap into the healing power inside, instead of crying out to the Lord to bring it from the outside.

I wrote an entire book on this, which also built on the Way of Blessing books. But although there is a follow-up book on how to tap into those resources practically, the Lord has been showing me another way.

I hope to do a complete preach on this soon. But for now I am going to share the principles with you here tonight.

All Blessings In Heaven

Everything you need has already been deposited into you. According to Paul, all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in [the] heavenly [realm] in Christ: [GBMV]

Now, when he says all spiritual blessings, that does not mean it excludes physical blessings. What this means is that the potential to receive all blessings has been deposited into us spiritually.

God has given us the spiritual resources and power to be blessed also in the natural. So your healing is already inside of you, and your prosperity is already there inside of you, and your popularity, fame, and good relationships with others are also there.

They are there inside your spirit, and your spirit alone has the power to access them. We cannot access these with our soul or body, so you cannot use your mind to tap into them, and you cannot use your body.

Only The Spirit Has Access

Only your spirit has access. But then your spirit has to communicate this outwards via the soul to the body. I explain this in absolute detail in the Way of Blessing Teachings. So you should really read those three books.

Tonight, I am going to give you a few hints and ways of tapping your resources using your human spirit.

Hearing For Yourself

The first thing I want to look at is hearing from the Lord for yourself. You should never ever need a prophet to prophesy over you to give you the Lord’s instructions. You should be able to tap into it any time you choose.

The most common way of doing this is through a process we call journaling. In this process, you write down the words that the Lord is speaking to you. You can actually begin it as a conversation with the Lord.

So you open your journal, either a physical page or an electronic page, and you begin to type a conversation with the Lord.

I find the best way to start is to tell Him my problem and ask Him for help. So I might write down something like this:

Lord I am really struggling to move forward in my spiritual life right now. What is the most important thing that I should be doing? And where should I begin?

Then you listen to your spirit. Because you see, the Lord can only speak to you via your human spirit. Your spirit communicates this to your mind. Then you write it down.

Now, the most common way your spirit communicates with your mind is to fill it with pictures. It takes a while to develop faith and hear words from the Lord.

But, once you begin to write down what the Lord is saying, it begins to flow.

Start with the first picture that comes to your mind and learn to allegorize it. It is usually symbolic.

Now, if you have ever flowed in giving a prophetic word or an interpretation of a tongue, you know that it usually comes first as just a prompt. A picture or a few words - a simple phrase.

Then, when you speak that, more comes. Until you find yourself running down a path as the words begin to flow quickly. And then, suddenly, it all stops, and it is over.

Well, your journal is a bit like a prophetic word from the Lord. You may just get a few words or a concept at first. But as you write it, more comes, and before you know it, you have pages of writing.

Always Via The Spirit

We can all do this, although prophets find it easier. Now, here is something you need to realize. Your human spirit is always in communication with the Holy Spirit, and when the Lord speaks, He speaks first to your spirit.

Then, your spirit communicates this to your mind. It never comes directly into your head. If this happens, the enemy is likely putting thoughts into your mind which will be filled with deception.

This is how you can tell if your journal is from the Lord. It will flow up from inside of you, not from your head. Your spirit gives you the words it received from the Holy Spirit.

You will not hear the voice of God directly, but it will always come via your spirit. So you need to recognize the voice of your spirit, or you may think it is coming from the Lord when it is coming from a demon spirit.

How to Recognize The Voice of Your Spirit

The only way to develop an ability to recognize your spirit better is to speak in tongues often. Why? Because Paul tells us that when you are praying in tongues, it is your spirit praying.

Your mind does not have a clue what your spirit is saying. It is talking in a foreign language. And unless you interpret it, you could lose out on some amazing wisdom.

Here is what Paul says to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 14:13 Therefore let he that speaks in an [unknown] tongue pray that he might [be able to] interpret.

In other words, he says you can interpret what your spirit is saying. Your spirit is saying the right things, but you do not understand what it is saying. So, if you can interpret your own tongues, you can find out.

Now, I have found that I can move from journaling by writing to journaling by speaking in tongues and then interpreting my tongue. I always have the record app ready on my phone.

Sometimes, the interpretation goes on for a long period, and I get some amazing wisdom from the Lord via my own spirit.

I often do the same when I am counseling someone. I feel an urge to speak in tongues, and then I interpret my tongue into a message from the Lord for them.

This happens most times when I am ministering to someone either in person or on a video chat. I always have my phone audio recorder handy at these times, so I can record the word and send it to the person to review afterward

.

Now, this is one of the most powerful ways of receiving in your mind what your spirit is saying.

The other way is to interpret the pictures your spirit puts into your mind. The language of the spirit is almost always visual and in the form of pictures.

These are like dreams when you are awake.

They are often symbolic and must be interpreted. I have covered this in my book Prophetic Dream and Visions.

Praying With Your Spirit

Now, what about releasing the anointing through prayer? When you come to pray about a matter or for a person, you are not always sure what to pray. At times like that, I hand it over to my spirit and pray in tongues.

Paul says that when you pray in tongues like that, you can interpret your own tongue. This is good for the person you are praying for and for you also to know what you are praying.

Only when you understand what you are saying can you put your full will and choice behind it.

Your spirit knows everything about you. Consider this passage

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it arisen in the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those that love him.

10 But God revealed [them] to us through His spirit: for the Spirit investigates everything, even the deep things of God.

11 For which person knows all that is in man, apart from the human spirit that is inside every one? even so nobody knows all about God, except the Spirit of God. [GBMV]

Your spirit knows everything about you, and as a believer, it also knows what the Holy Spirit says. So, if you want to know what God is saying, listen to your spirit.

Your spirit is the key to tapping into those resources inside of you. Your spirit knows what to pray when you are not sure.

Burden of Prayer

Romans 8:26 Likewise, the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. [GBMV]

This is not referring to the Holy Spirit, but the human spirit. The groanings that cannot be uttered is what we call a burden of prayer.

Prophets especially experience this. There comes a deep feeling inside that you cannot explain and a kind of restlessness that drives you to pray.

This means the Holy Spirit has called you to prayer specifically for something that God wants to do. This is actually how all intercession should happen. The Holy Spirit inspired it, but your spirit communicates it.

Rebuking Demons With Your Spirit

I also find that when coming against demon powers, my spirit knows what to say better than me. So, I always rebuke demons in tongues.

Some preachers say that the devil cannot understand tongues, so you are safe to pray in tongues and hide it from the devil. But that is not true. Tongues are known as the tongues of men and angels.

Since demons are fallen angels, they understand any tongue.

My Dad Understood My Tongue

I remember some years ago, while my father was still alive, he used to have amazing revelations. One of the things that often happened was that he understood what we were saying in tongues.

Some folks have that gift still and can understand tongues as it is spoken. It is not the regular interpretation of tongues.

Anyway, I remember the one day I felt to rebuke the devil in tongues

, and afterward, my Dad said to me, “Do you know what you just said to the devil?” Then he told me, and I had to laugh.

There is amazing power when you allow your spirit to have a free course in your life and ministry.

I am learning now also to interpret my prayers and rebukes that come up spontaneously from my spirit in tongues.

Putting all of this Together

Your spirit is the key to tapping into everything God has deposited into you. So you need to learn to hear the voice of your spirit, and sense when your spirit needs to rise up and take control.

The starting point is to pray often in tongues. Then you must learn to flow in interpretation of your own tongues.

This is a gift that you can reach out for and receive from the Lord. Ask Him for it, then after you pray in tongues, try praying in English also.

Eventually, what you pray in English will become the interpretation of your tongue. You will sense the flow of the anointing.

Other Blessings To Tap

Now, what about other blessings that we need to tap?

Well, healing is a big one. I have taught extensively on this, and my new songs also contain many principles. So do not just listen to the music; pay heed to the words.

Let me summarise the main points here.

Firstly, all healing of your body is carried out by your spirit. Your spirit is what keeps your body alive. When it leaves, the body dies.

I have read of many cases of people who died and then came back to life. And in virtually every case, when their spirit returned to their body, it healed whatever was wrong with the body.

I explain some of this in my song Your Body is a Healing Machine.

Your body is designed to fix itself. But it needs the help of your spirit.

This is what the Lord showed me I should do when I pray with someone for healing.

It is not my healing power that will set them free. But the key is to enhance what they have in their spirit.

Because, as I say in one of the songs, - your spirit can heal your body.

So when I pray with someone for healing now, I add to their spiritual resources by pouring into their spirit some of what God has given me.

This does not apply to unbelievers because their spirits are not yet alive to the Lord. But for believers, it is essential.

This may be why it is often more difficult to get a believer healed than an unbeliever.

There is power in your reborn human spirit and there are three powerful forces there. They are faith, hope, and love.

Power of Music

Now, music of course, is also another powerful tool for releasing the anointing

because it causes the spirit, soul, and body to synchronize.

This allows the power to flow from your spirit through your soul to your body.

This is why we are making our own song recordings. They contain powerful words that the Lord gave us and are also infused with the anointing that He has put into us as His ministers.

Ways to Pray

Prayer is vital, - but that also must be carried out using your spirit.

There are two ways to pray correctly. One is praying in the spirit, which is praying led by the spirit. The other is praying WITH your spirit - which is praying in tongues.

No matter what you do, greater power is always achieved when your spirit controls it.

You can trust your spirit because it is the part of you closest to the Holy Spirit.

Use Tongues More

As charismatics, we have tended to take tongues for granted and not realize their power. Sometime as you go out into the world or even while you are at work, try praying in tongues under your breath as you go through your day.

Watchman Nee and Dealings of God

Watchman Nee was one of my main mentors at first, but later, I realized that he was teaching stuff that was not true.

I still love much of his material, but not when it comes to holiness or God's dealings. Let me end tonight by explaining this.

A common belief among many believers, based on Watchman Nee, is that when we stray, the Lord deals with us by causing problems in our lives to bring us back to order.

But if you know someone who has turned their own way, you will soon see that the Lord leaves them to choose their own way. Any problems that come are because they are no longer under His protection.

God does not deal with us by bringing problems into our lives. His correction always comes with words, not destruction.

It may have been different in the Old Testament because the Law promised blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.

But now, in the New Testament, under grace, the Lord always tries to woo us by His love, not by judging us in this life.

This is where Watchman Nee erred because he taught that when we stray, the Lord disciplines us by dealing with us to bring us to death.

I also used to teach this fervently while I was in the Watchman Nee camp. Then I saw this passage in James.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is being tested[peirazo], I am [being] put under trial by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He test any man: [GBMV]

Certainly, the Lord will lead you into situations where you realize that you can do nothing without Him. But the only thing that is meant to die is your vision so He can resurrect it to something greater.

Even when he leads you into difficult situations, He always ensures there is a way out.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation [peirazo] has ever taken hold of you that was unique to mankind: and you can trust God to not allow you to be tested [peirazo] beyond what you are capable of; but He will, along with the test [peirazo], also make a way to escape, so that you are able to endure it. [GBMV]

But never ever make this mistake of thinking that the Lord brought this on you. He may have led you to where you come under greater attack from the Devil and the World. But He is never the author of the attack.

But as for you, no matter what you face, always remember that He has placed in you every kind of blessing from the heavenly realm. And if you learn to use your spirit correctly, you can tap into those blessings.

Learn to listen to your spirit. Either through journaling or interpreting your own tongues. Give your spirit all the help you can, and also give your soul and body what they need to live the abundant life and live a life of blessing.
