Way of Blessing Part 3 - Living Your Blessing - Chapter 2 of 22

Making Changes
What is it that you would like to accomplish? Let's look at that list that I gave at the beginning. Let's look at your personal desire. What is it that you are really desiring right now?
You may be thinking in yourself,
"I need to make myself better."
Perhaps you are thinking,
"I need to look better. If I could lose 15 or 20 kg, what a difference it would make in my life."
Or you say, "If I just knew the right people and had the right contacts, what a difference it would make in my life."
The more you try and accomplish these things the more you fail. But He wants to live His life in you, and He wants to do these things for you. He wants to accomplish all these things for you, and it is amazing what He can do if you will let Him.
He has some tools that He uses to accomplish this.
Use the Word
Firstly, He has given us His Word which holds most of the principles we need.
Yes, it doesn't help me to program in Basic or any other language. But it teaches me principles of how to come into a relationship with Him. I can learn how to use His power to accomplish these things. The indwelling Holy Spirit has all these abilities.
Learn from Teachers
The next thing He does is to provide teachers to show us the way. Well how did the teachers learn it? The hard way; by ploughing through the whole Basic Manual.
You see once I had spent a month or two ploughing through the Basic Manual, I could sit down and teach it to you in a couple of weeks. I could show it to you in detail and in a way that you could understand, because I learned it by struggling through it.
I want to tell you that the preparation and training of a teacher is one of the most difficult. We always harp on about how tough it is for the poor prophets. We say,
"Shame, they always go through death and they need to learn to let go of their abilities."
But the teacher needs to live everything before they can teach it. So perhaps your life has been one of everything that could go wrong went wrong. That was me. If something could go wrong, it went wrong.
You may have looked at things and said,
"It is just my luck."
No, God said,
"I am teaching you how to deal with and to overcome those things with my Word and my Spirit. Then once you have learned how to do it, you can teach other people the same things."
So, don't complain when the Lord puts you through some of these difficult things. Don't say,
"Why did this need to happen in my life?"
Maybe God has called you to be a teacher. Maybe He wants you to learn how to deal with that through His Word. You can then be a teacher to others and show them how to overcome it as well.
Learn Through Circumstances
He also uses circumstances to prepare us. These are usually the bad ones, aren't they? These are usually the things that go wrong.
They are all the pressures that come on us and the difficulties we have in our lives. They are the things that give us ulcers and high blood pressure and make us very unhappy.
You might have prayed,
"Lord I want you to do this for me."
The Lord says, "Sure."
Then all the difficulties start to happen, and you say,
"Lord, that is not what I asked for."
The Scripture says,
Tribulation produces patience.
You might say, "Lord, please give me some more patience."
So, the Lord says,
"Here is some tribulation."
If you have submitted yourself to Him, I am not going to say that everything is just going to fall into place and go right. You will need to learn in the crucible of life. And you will sometimes need to learn in the fire.
But I want to tell you that you will come out as gold. You will come out pure, lovely and beautiful; a vessel and instrument that the Lord can use. And the very things that you have desired, He will take you to a higher level than you even hoped for.
It is not just going to fall into your lap. Do you know why?
Because you already have it. But He needs to deal with your soul, and He must use all these different tools to deal with your soul.
Change Your Soul
You see we must make changes to our soul. Some of the bad experiences of life have left scars, and those scars are blockages to the flow of God's power that wants to come out of our spirit.
He has provided a way to fix those things. We just had a whole seminar to teach you some of the principles of inner healing.
Do you realize something? Every healing experience that you had in that seminar, took a resistance out of the way that can cause God's power to flow through you more?
You might say, "God has healed me. He dealt with all those things and now it is great. I'm so happy that I am now healed."
You have the full flow now, right? The power is coming out unrestricted now. No, there are a few more things there that need dealing with.
Don't think this is a once off or once or twice off thing. This is a process that takes time.
Each time you pull those resistances out of the way the current gets stronger and the power gets stronger. Your soul must be passed through transformation and change before it can happen.
Learning Wrong Things
For many people, wrong teachings have left them confused about the truth. Throughout your life you learned things, from your parents, your siblings or relatives, friends or school teachers.
Even preachers have taught you things and they don't always get it right. In fact, they very often get it wrong. This is because they learned from somebody else who learned from someone else and they were wrong.
You might say, "My dad always believed that and so did my grandpa, so it must be true."
No, not necessarily.
I was amazed at something when I finally decided to study and prepare for ministry. I went into the Word and discovered that the Word didn't say what some of those preachers were telling me it said.
They twisted it, but I believed it and said,
"He is the man (or woman) of God. They should know what they are talking about."
Sometimes the first thing you need is a bit of un-teaching. If you dare to come to our training schools, you will learn that sometimes we need to un-teach you stuff.
We need to take all those wrong teachings out of you. Because, do you know what they are? They are blockages in your soul.
Your mind sits in your soul and it gets blocked. People have learned that poverty is what we should be aiming for. Their teachers told them that prosperity is evil, and it is bad.
They taught them that God doesn't want to bless us and that we should not look for recognition in any way; that we should be humble and behind the scenes. But the world is standing up and taking everything.
God wants His people to rise up and do that. Jesus never apologized for His presence. Sometimes He didn't look very humble at all. He would stand up and say,
"Look at me! Before Abraham was, I am."
They said, "What! You are claiming to be very God?"
"Yes."
Well you have Jesus in you. Are you ashamed of Him? You think,
"I do not need to stand there as humble little me. I have the King of Kings in me. Do you know what? You have just met a king. Show some respect for royalty please."
You see it takes a bit of change in teaching and thinking, for you to start seeing yourself differently.
Once you have been un-taught the wrong things you can then start learning the right things. That alone will go a long way to removing those blockages in your soul.
Igniting Your Emotions
Your emotions might need to get re-ignited. Because you see it is our emotions that drive us. It is our desires and passions that drive us in life. But all it needs is a few failures along the way to quench that passion.
You might say, "Well I tried it and I failed. I tried again and I failed. And I tried one more time and failed again. I'm just not going to try again."
Your emotions have become dead and you have lost hope. You might say to me,
"I believed God and stepped out boldly, but I fell on my face."
You are not alone. Most of us have done that. The question is, did you stay on your face or did you get up again?
If you did it a second time and you fell on your face again, did it ever occur to you that maybe you are doing something wrong? Did it ever occur to you?
"Maybe that is not the way to do it. But everyone else is doing it like that and it works fine for them."
Yes, but you see you are unique, and your emotions need to get re-ignited. You need to get excited about something.
Satan Sidetracks Us
Sometimes we get sidetracked and our emotions rise for the wrong things.
Satan is very clever at doing that. The moment God puts a passion in you, he will sidetrack you and maybe pull out something you have always desired to do. And to reach that desire you need to let go of the fresh commitment.
It's like when the birds took away the seeds that fell by the wayside so that they couldn't grow.
Be careful. Every time God gives you something new and you get excited, don't think it will go easy. Satan will hit you hard.
But you see what is in your mind changes your emotions.
What you think about changes your emotions. So, you don't work on your emotions. You work first on your thoughts.
If you get the right kind of thoughts and you allow that power from within to start flowing outwards, your emotions will ignite along with it.
Reprogram Your Will
The other part of your soul is your will, and sometimes it needs to be re-programed. Because we usually do things the wrong way, it now takes an effort to change. Your mind needs to change so that you get new pictures and new goals. And sometimes you may need pressure.
Newton's Law of Motion says this. An object will continue in the direction that it is going, unless some external force acts upon it, to cause it to change its path.
You see you may be on a path to failure. And every time you get up and try again, you will carry on that same path to failure. Sometimes God needs to send something to push you out of that.
We don't like that to happen and some of us hate change. We don't like to do things differently. But if you want God to work in you and to give you the things you desire, you will need to trust Him to push you in the right place.
You will need to trust Him to hit the flaw in that diamond with His chisel. That hurts, but it is to get you off that dirty path which is stopping the sparkle. You need to trust Him.
Hear His Voice
I'm afraid that most of us need outside help. If you can hear the voice of the Lord that kind of makes it easier because then He can do it directly.
You might say, "I am not a prophet."
You don't need to be a prophet to hear the voice of the Lord. We have given lots of teaching on this. If you haven't learned it, you need to go and learn it.
He is speaking in you 24 hours a day. He is speaking right now, and if you will just quieten down your mind and your thoughts, you will hear Him. He's talking to you all the time.
You might say to me,
"I never hear from God."
You are just deaf. Maybe you have the radio turned up too loud and you can't hear His gentle voice. You hear all the noise of life turned up all around you instead.
But if you will listen to that voice, He will tell you exactly what to do. He will show you how to reach the goals that you desire. He'll show you how to bring the changes that you need to make.
Get a Trainer
Most of us however find it hard to hear the voice of God directly. We find it easier to listen to a real person. Have you noticed that all the successful people out there get a trainer?
They hire a trainer and pay them.
I can never figure that out. If I could just learn which exercises to do to lose weight, why don't I just do the exercises? But I need to have someone from the outside to tell me,
"Do this. Now do it again."
Isn't human nature strange? The trainer didn't get in there and do it for you. You didn't sit and watch while he did the exercises. He made you do it.
Some people say, "I have the best trainer. That's why I am so successful."
What you are telling me is you don't have the guts to do yourself what you need to do.
But don't worry. You are not alone. We all have weaknesses. We need to find a trainer that will care enough to not care; someone who will not care enough to say,
"Do it again."
"But I'm sore. I'm hurting and I don't like this."
"Do it again!"
I'm glad I'm not a trainer anymore. I've handed that over to others now, so I am trying to let go of that. I'm just still trying to be a bit of a teacher. I always said to people when I trained them,
"You might like me now, but I want to warn you that before we finish this you will hate me at least once; maybe more."
If you are in one of the prophetic classes, especially the office class, you can except it. You asked for somebody to steer you in the right direction.
But all areas of life are the same. Sometimes we need someone from the outside to help.
God has raised up teachers and trainers who will help us. They will point us in the right direction and put the right pressure on us. If we can combine all these things together, we can reach that goal.
Conclusion
God has already provided everything you will ever need to live the very best life. He has put resources into our spirits that will enable us to do this.
The forces of faith, love and hope in our spirits can produce anything. But we must release them outwards before they will do it, and that must come out via our soul.
Unfortunately, the soul often blocks the flow and we do not get what we want. We sometimes sing a song that explains this principle. The words of the song go,
You need a new template to release the power.
You need to create something in the soul; a template that will let the power out. When you do that the power will flow out.
If you are prepared to change, all things are possible, not just some things. All things are possible, and the Lord has made it possible.
You can experience true happiness because He has given you everything you need. All you need to do is to learn how to use it.
My Prayer
"Father I thank you for your Word. I pray that it was an inspiration and a challenge, and that it offered hope to those who are reading it.
I give it into your hands. I give myself into your hands and I ask you to give me the wisdom to present the things that you have taught me, that you are busy teaching me and that you are still going to teach me.
As you teach it to me, I will teach it to others, and your Name will always receive glory in it. I ask it in Jesus' name. Amen."
