Just giving a few more mintutes for everyone to join

I thought I had finished the last chapter on Dealing With Bad Mantles, but I felt that there are still a few loose ends that need to be tied on the subject

I am going to begin tonight to review why bad mantles exist and how the enemy uses them to block us spiritually

Satan does not have the right or the power to attack us directly in a physical way

The only power he and his demons have is to bring thoughts to our minds to influence our behavior

This is usually referred to as “temptation” because it is designed to lead us astray

He also needs to expose our weaknesses so that he knows where best to attack us

But he cannot tell what your weaknesses are and he cannot read your mind

He can only tell from your words and actions what is going on inside of you

Another word that is used to describe his attack in addition to temptation is the word “test”

This is a subject on its own, but I want to just lay the groundwork here to help us better understand how he works

When something is put to a test there can be two purposes for this test

The one is to confirm whether something is capable of handling the pressure that will be applied to it

This includes taking samples of a new product and subjecting them to pressure and stress to see if they will survive

This is the kind of test you face when you write an examination

What is expected is that you will pass the test and prove you are capable of handling any pressures

Most of the time, the test is passed and the produce is approved for use

The second reason for a test is to expose any flaws or weaknesses so that we can know how to destroy or overcome that item

Suppose I am playing a single person game of tennis or something similar with someone

I try to give them returns that will expose any weak points in their game

Once these show, I then zero in on that weak point and keep attacking it

And this will lead to me winning the game

Can you see the difference between these two kinds of tests?

The original Greek of the New Testament used different words for these tests

Now one of those words, is also translated to tempt

The Scriptures teach us that God never tests us in this way

He always only tests us in the first way - to approve us for use

So that He can give us more responsibility and power

They teach that God never uses the second kind of test

He does not need to, because He knows what is inside of us and can read our minds

here is a Scripture describing the second test

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation [peirazo] has ever taken hold of you that was unique to mankind: and you can trust God to not allow you to be tested [peirazo] beyond what you are capable of; but He will, along with the test [peirazo], also make a way to escape, so that you are able to endure it. [GBMV]

He cannot read your mind Patrick

The greek word peirazo can be translated test or temp

God never tests this way

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted [peirazo], I am [being] tested by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He test any man: [GBMV]

God tests us to approve us, not to expose our weaknesses

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved [dokimazo] by God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [GBMV]

The greek word is dokimazo

In our GBM Version of the Bible, you will see these words always added to the text in the New Testament so you can know which kind of test is reffered to

So this is how Satan works

He attacks your mind with thoughts to test you - in other words he puts a temptation in your mind to sin

Depending on how you respond to those thoughts he will determine if you have weakness or not

If you as a man walk past a beautiful woman, the enemy will try to put a thought of lust in your mind

Then he will watch to see how you respond

Now this is the limit of how Satan can attack you directly

He is a spirit so he cannot touch you physically - that would be like a ghost touching a real object

But once he has discovered your weaknesses he will intensity his attack on your mind

And then he will look for other people he can use to attack you

Satan can only attack you with what is in mankind

Because the only creation that has power in the earth is a human being, made from the dust of the earth and having a spirit that has the nature of God

The human spirit is far greater and more powerful than Lucifer himself

And if Satan wants to attack anyone he has to tap into that power in a human being

Often the greatest attack you face is not directly from the enemy, but it is coming via another human being

That is why we are taught to make peace with all men to avoid coming under attack from another human spirit

That is why the Lord tells us to resolve all conflicts if possible

But it is not always possible, because some people hate us and do not want us to be blessed

you are fighting a spiritual power before the person even gets involved physically to attack you

This actually started way back in the beginning

Genesis 4:3 And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought from the fruit of the ground an offering to the LORD [Yahweh].

Here you see the first and still the main reason why people attack others

Cain was jealous of Able

And today in the body of Christ it is no different

The moment you begin to walk in the blessing of the Lord, people will begin to envy you

and they will do their best to bring you down so that they can rise up

It is so sad to see especially in the work of the ministry

Each one strives to be recognized and lifted up

And when they succeed everyone attacks them

You can see this everywhere with those who are prospering preaching a positive message of God’sblessing

Take the names of any man or woman of God who is walking in blessing because of the Lord

and you will see many folks tearing them down

Now I cannot say that I agree with all the doctrines of these people\\

But they are being blessed by the Lord

I know one person especially who is continually attacked the other believers and preachers especially is Joel Osteen

And really the bottom line is pure jealousy

They would love to have a church as big and prospering as his

But you will find the same thing right where you are in ministry

Even within most ministry groups there are those who are vying for position

Philippians 2:3 [Let] nothing [be done] through strife or empty boasting; but in lowliness of mind let each consider others better than themselves. [GBMV]

Strife is tearing others down and empty boasting is lifting yourself up in their place

Now we have looked in some detail at the kind of attacks we face from people who are close to us

Especially family members and relatives

But we also need to consider our spiritual relatives

Sometimes spiritual parents can bring their spiritual children into bondage

They try to control them and use them for their own purpose

I shared in a previous chapter the spiritual attack that I faced from my ex in-laws

This nearly destroyed my ministry

and because some of my own children were siding against them with their mother’s parents, they also became instruments of the enemy against us

So often there are other also involved in the process

And in the end you come under a spiritual attack from other believers

Many of them carry great spiritual power because of their leadership positions

They begin to speak words against you and license the enemy to attack you

And you will face problems in your health, your finances and your relationships

They speak a curse against you

And produce a bad mantle to block the blessings of God in your life

You may have separated from these people, but they still have cords tying that bad mantle to you

So just as I showed you to do with family members, you need to cut those cords in the spirit

Remember you have the authority and power in this earth as a human being

and you have additional power because of the Holy Spirit living inside of you

You also have authority in the name of Jesus

These people have formed a weapon against you

You can stand on this promise of God

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue [that] will rise against you in judgment you will condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD [Yahweh], and their righteousness [is] of me, says the LORD [Yahweh]. [GBMV]

no, you have all the authority you need in the name of Jesus

and if you study my book Tapping Your Inner Resources you will see you have the same power and anyone else

So you need to cut the cord that was established tying them to you

you can cut this in the spirit easily through prayer

I call this Breaking Spiritual Links

Nobody has authority over your spirit = only the Lord

So you once you identify such a cord you can come to the Lord in simple prayer

You could pray something like this

Lord Jesus I cut the cord now that was established between xxx and me

I want nothing to do with this and I renounce any right I gave to this person

In Jesus name I speak against their words and curses sent to me

and I send those curses right back where they came from

In Jesus Name it is done

Where a cord causes you to pick up some of the curses in that person you can also add

I refuse any curses from this person and reject them now in Jesus Name

You will feel a release in the spirit

But then also look out for anyone else you are associated with that still supports that person or their attitude

Because they may become another channel or cord to that bad mantle

You may have to end some relationships in the process

I had to do this with my own daughter and family

It is going to cost you, in the same way it would cost you to cut off one of your limbs

Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand offends you, cut it off, and cast [it] from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not [that] your whole body should be cast into hell [Gehenna]. [GBMV]

It is called radical amputation

you cannot afford to be connected with any other human being who has become an agent of the enemy against you

Even if they are your own flesh and blood

Even if they are your spouse

So you must always be careful of whom you open your heart to

But then do not swing to the other end of the pendulum either

We need one another as believers

and if we unite together as one body we become invincible

This is what true fellowship means

But sometimes, because of our bad experiences with others we shy away from all relationships

You make an inner vow - something we covered last time

And you may something like, “I will never depend on another person again”

I will learn how to handle things myself and do it without help from anyone

The Lord and me is enough

But unfortunately God only works in this earth via human being

God placed all the authority of the earth into the hands of Adam and Eve

And now whatever God does in the earth has to be authorized by a human being

As believers we are meant to be the agents for God’s blessing in the earth

Whenever God wants to do something in the earth, He looks first for a man (or woman) to authorize this

Not every believer knows how to do this, so He does raise up a special group whose task is mainly to do this

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. [GBMV]

The main task of a prophet is not to prophesy over people and tell them their future

It is to release God’s will in the earth

But every believer has this right

and if believers would learn how to do this more there would be less evil in the world

Unfortunately Satan has more on his side, authorizing him to produce evil in this world

Which is why the world is such a mess

No you just need to learn the authority that you have

I think is is likely going to be our last teaching on Bad Mantles

And then I want to return to good mantles

you do not need human empowerment

If you are limited by man, then you need to get out of your associations

The Lord has showed me two main implements that are associated with mantles

These are pictured as two important objects

The first object is a key

and the second object is a sword

These speak of the two main functions used to release the power of a mantle

A key always speaks of authority

and the sword speaks of power

I am hoping to get new revelation on these two objects so that I can add perhaps a final teaching to the subject of mantles

Perhaps I may start sharing these from next week, or we may move to another subject for our Monday chats

I have also started preaching the subject of bad mantles from the pulpit and you were given the first message freely
