The first is from 1 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 20. And it says, For the kingdom of God is not found in principles taught, but in dynamic power. And then 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 and verse 5. Because our gospel did not come to you in principles alone, but also with dynamic power by the Holy Spirit and with full assurance.

I don't know about you, but I love principles. I've always kind of been that way. I always felt that there must be a better way of doing things.

And if I could learn the principles involved, I could improve. Now, since being a teacher has been my main thrust in ministry, I guess I had even a greater orientation that way. Because a teacher is always sharing principles that you can apply and reuse over and over again.

Now, I always felt that if I could learn some new principles, I would get better results than what I was getting. You look out there and you see some people, there's always somebody else in it. They succeeded in getting what they desired.

And I look at them and I say, what principle did they use to get there? And then I think, if I could learn the principles that they used, maybe I'll get the same thing as them. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever looked at somebody and said, I wonder how they got there? I wonder how they became so famous? I wonder how they became so popular? How did they succeed and rise up to where they are? I wonder if I could sit down with that person and just ask them, how did you do it? Can you give me three easy steps to accomplish what you did? If I could just learn those principles, wow, what an opportunity I would have to maybe fulfill my desires also. Now, as I looked in the scriptures, I see that many people who were teachers also felt that way.

And probably our key example was the great apostle Paul. Paul was a master teacher. Paul was so good, he could preach at the drop of a hat.

I know times I've liked to see Paul as a model, and people learn through experience to know better than to ask me a simple question in conversation, because they end up getting a whole sermon. That was Paul. Just ask him a question, and he'll give you a whole sermon with full explanation of the principles involved, because he knew them well.

See, Paul had a great education, a man of great knowledge, and he could reach anybody with the amount of knowledge that he had. Don't you envy him that Paul had one particular time when he used the best of his skills, and he failed miserably. We read about that in the book of Acts, in chapter 17, where Paul was on Mars Hill, a place where all the big names would get to come and learn and listen to one another.

And Paul tried to reach these great intelligent people using his superior knowledge and logic, and try to explain to them why they should accept the Lord as their Savior. You know, Paul was so good, he'd even studied up on some of their own poets, and he added a quotation from one of their famous poets in the middle of his message, hoping that will give him further relevance, and get their attention, and get them to receive. Paul used the principles.

Right down to the last detail. But he didn't include the power of God. He tried to logically explain using principles, and explain to them logically why it made sense for them to consider Jesus.

And he failed miserably. Many of the people just mocked him after he'd spoken. Others said, we'll have to listen to you again, we don't really get it.

And one or two people responded positively. He got some results, but they were so minor, after that big effort that he made. I think Paul kind of left there with his tail between his legs, as it were.

And he learned a valuable lesson. A lesson which all of those who have stood behind the pulpit and taught principles for years, will have to learn sooner or later. He failed to release the power of God to change them.

He reached only their minds, but not their hearts. Now I know from personal experience this one, and I've shared a lot of my story before, and share a few things again, on how I came to realize the fallacy and the mistake of relying only on principles. You see, I grew up insecure, and a failure in life.

There was nothing about me that I could boast that I ever succeeded in. I looked around me, and I saw others all finding their place, and rising up. But I just couldn't seem to get there.

So I became convinced that, if I could somehow learn how they did it, then perhaps I could do the same. And I began a quest for me, to study every success philosophy that there was available. I would go into a bookshop, and I walked right past all the that everybody loves to read.

And I'll find that little section called non-fiction. And I knew that under non-fiction, I was going to find people sharing, you guessed it, principle. You know, the psychology of this world, and everybody who's had success, they've got a book to write on how I did it, and how you can do it.

Famous saying amongst them is, success leaves a trail. If you can follow the same trail as them, you will succeed. And I grabbed every book I could find, that would teach me some principles that I didn't know.

And then I'd go online, and I'd search for the self-help teachers. And I found there was a whole group of them that worked together. In fact, one of the main ones was even a Christian.

And he shared some scripture in his teaching. I studied all of their principles in detail, until eventually I knew every single one, and the main things that they taught. But it didn't change my life.

It just didn't bring the change I was looking for. They were simply theories. They seemed to work for others, but they just didn't work for me.

I couldn't even overcome my main weakness in life, which was my own insecurity, insecurity and inferiority, and the way I viewed myself as just being too small compared to others. Well, then I realized my answer wasn't going to come from the world. It has to come from the Word of God.

And as a budding teacher, I plowed into the Word of God, and started studying it in detail. And you know what? I discovered even better principles that were based on the scriptures, than I'd learned from everybody else. And I now had more available that I could use.

Did it change me? I'm afraid not. I still didn't break through. I still didn't experience what I wanted to experience.

And one day, standing there in my great knowledge, being the budding teacher, I chatted with a friend who was a believer. He was a fairly young believer. He didn't have the knowledge of the Word that I did, but he had an anointing on him.

He had a better relationship with the Holy Spirit than what I did. And the one day, as we were sharing, he offered to pray for me. He said he sensed something in his hand every time he held his hand towards me, and he felt that God was telling him he should pray for me.

He didn't know any principles. All he did was follow the anointing that was on him. And he just prayed what he saw in vision.

And when he was finished, he said to me, he said, God says I must tell you that He's taken a weakness out of you, and He's put a strength in its place. What a profound principle. No, it wasn't the principle.

But you know what I discovered? In minutes, just in minutes, that problem with my insecurity that I've been struggling with for most of my life, that I'd studied in detail, and you know what? I even knew the principles I should apply to overcome it, but I couldn't. In minutes, an operation of the anointing of God took that thing out of me, just like that, and it was gone, miraculously. What an experience from somebody who knew very little of the Word, who hadn't studied all the principles.

Over time, as my ministry grew, I began to learn that we need to use both principles and power. Those two scriptures that we read at the beginning, Paul was telling us that exact thing. He's saying principles are not enough.

We need the power added to those principles. See, I could teach people all the principles in overcoming problems, but it's only when I learned to use God's power that I could actually bring real results. And this was very clear, for example, where a ministry of healing was concerned.

You see, I was a master on counseling. I could counsel people, and I could show them how to overcome the hurts and the bad experiences that they'd had in the past. And sometimes it was very effective, but often people just could not break free of the scars that they still held from those past experiences, until the Lord began to anoint me with a ministry and then a gift of inner healing.

And suddenly, instead of counseling for hours and trying to explain and try to build the right pictures in their mind and get them to take action, God would in minutes heal all of those insecurities and just take them out. It was a whole lot easier for me. You know, I used to counsel people for two hours at a time, and it was, okay, now let's pray.

But I soon found out I should have done it the other way around. If I prayed first, I could save myself a lot of energy. Maybe after they got healed, I could explain to them what had happened, and it would have made sense.

The power of God, folks, is far more effective than every principle or concept that you can apply to your life. When it came to physical healing, it was the same. Oh, well, I did a full study on principles of health, and I even got revelation from God on the seven main things that we need to apply to our lives to maintain healthy bodies.

When somebody comes to you and they're sick, it's a bit late to say, go and apply these principles. Well, it's too late. You failed to apply them.

You're now sick. The only thing I can help now is the dynamic healing power of God through a gift of physical healing. You've got to have both, folks.

Principles are good. They give you a structure that you can work through. They give you a direction to follow.

If you're following the principle, you'll know when you've arrived. You're not approaching it in a haphazard way, but you need far more. You need the power of God, firstly, to change you.

Everybody wants their circumstances to be changed, don't they? But you need the power of God to change you. One of the great success teachers, a man by the name of Jim Rohn, he used to say, you have got to improve. You've got to get better.

He said, because until you get better, things will not get better. Instead of trying to change things, change you first. There was a great principle, but how? How do I change me? I cannot pull myself up by my bootstraps.

It wasn't enough. I heard those principles over and over again, and the only conclusion I could come to is, yes, he's right, but when am I going to change? I didn't know how to do that, until I discovered that God, by his power, is the only one who could change me from what I am into something better. And we need the power of God also to change our circumstances, because God's involved in arranging things in this world for us.

He uses the angels, and he uses other people to change our circumstances. It's great to have the principle, but we need spiritual power to apply the principles, and without that power, I'm afraid your principles are useless. Without power, you will fail.

You know why? Firstly, because you won't follow through. Sometimes, I've got this whole long list of principles, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, and I may start off with a big bang, saying if I could apply those principles consistently, things would change. And you know, I may keep it up for a day or two, and then I forget about them, and life catches up with me, and before I know it, I'm just back to my old way of doing things, and I ignore those principles completely.

See, it takes the power of God to keep you back on the principles. You'll forget the principles very quickly. It takes the spirit of God to remind you of what you should be doing, or shouldn't be doing.

If you rely only on the principles, and you don't get results quick enough, you will lose hope that you'll ever see what you're wanting, and you're just going to give up, and carry on coasting through life the way you have been for years. Now, we've taught that the scriptures show, as believers, that we have three roads that we can walk on. I've given detailed teaching all over the place.

If you go through my books, you'll see this. Those three roads are the roads of ministry, the road of business, and the road of social. If we wish to succeed in these three areas of life, you are not going to do it without the power of God.

Now, most of us will acknowledge that we need God's power in ministry, so we know we must add power to ministry. To do that, we must tap into God's power. We need to receive His anointing, and we need to seek Him for specific mantles of anointing that will equip us and make us capable of succeeding in different areas of ministry.

This is a subject that I've been teaching much on in the last while. We're running a school of the supernatural in which we are looking at these principles in some detail. Recently, I released my first book on this subject called The Mantles of God.

If you've never moved into receiving the anointing power of God and specific mantles for ministry, I suggest you get that book and learn how to do this. Because until you add that power to your ministry, you'll just be a mediocre minister who never really accomplishes much. We need power to do business.

We think our success in business depends on our natural skills. If you want to succeed in business, especially if you want to create products of your own to sell, it's going to take supernatural power to give you the ability to create the right products. Once you've got those products and you want to sell them, you're going to have to influence people to buy them.

Well, psychology tells us that people are manipulated in certain ways, and we manipulate them and push them into buying our product. Do you think it's much better if we take the power of God and use His power to influence people for good? We need to add power to our social life, which includes the arts and all of our creative abilities. It includes building relationships.

Relationships require more than somebody with a pretty face and a good personality. You need the power of God to draw you and to draw others to you in God's order and in His purpose. For God to bring to you the right people, for God to take you to where you will meet the right people, it requires the power of God to do that.

You're going to just rely on your natural skills. You may stay lonely for a long time. You need power to create, to enhance the creative abilities that you have.

And perhaps you're really keen to get into the arts, into music and writing and painting, drama and whatever else excites you. If you want to be effective in these, it's not enough to go to one of the training schools that this world offers. You need to add the power of God, and when you do that, God will allow you to add something unique to your creative ability, that the world does not have.

It will make you stand out and be more successful even than them. So where should we go from here? Should you try and change what you've been doing? Should you work harder or do more so that you can get greater results? Or should you learn to work smarter and improve the quality of your work so that you get more efficient results? These are all principles that are taught. In the way of the world, that's exactly what you would do.

You would find principles that would teach you to get more work done with more efforts. You'll find principles will teach you how to work smarter instead of harder to increase your value so that people will pay more for what you have to offer, but for the believer is so much more. Our starting point is this.

Add the power of God to what you are already doing. Don't change what you're doing. Don't try and find new ways of doing it.

Start where you are. Simply add the power of God to what you still continue to do on a daily basis and you'll find that when you do this, your activities will change. The power of God will enable you to work more efficiently.

It'll enable you to work harder and longer, but it's going to do far more than that. The power of God is going to bring full change to your life and it is only the power of God that can accomplish. So you're not stuck now in saying, well, teach me the right way to do it.

Show me the principles. Come and train me please and show me how you did it so that I can do it too. I've lived a long life and I've been trying to do this for many years and God by his grace has enabled me to succeed in everything today that I ever set my heart to do.

But as I look back on my successes, I realize that most of them came when I learned to add the power of God to what I was doing rather than improving the way I was doing things. Now I'm going to be ministering with this emphasis in the days and months and years that lie ahead. The Lord has told me to take time daily to release his power.

I need to learn to apply the power of God to every area of my life. And if you wish to succeed, that's all you need to do. You can say, well, you know, I'm not even in business.

I'm just an ordinary employee working for a boss nine to five and I get my monthly salary either every two weeks or once a month depending on where you are. What can I do to change that? Maybe hope my boss will give me an increase. Oh please Lord, Lord speak to my boss and make him increase my pay.

Is that what you've been trying to do? You say, well, there's not much I can do. I can't change the work that I've got because it's been laid out for me. Well, I've got good news for you.

You can change everything by doing one simple thing. Start adding the power of God to what you are doing on a daily basis. Well, you know, we get up in the morning, we have our devotions and our time with the Lord.

I hope you do if you get time. Are you one of those that barely makes it to the car in time to get to work? And once you're there, it's all dog eat dog, it's work, it's push, it's fight. You wait until the day's over and you finally get home.

And now perhaps you may find some time to come into his presence and to tap into the power of God. Now you must learn to do it right there in the workplace where you are. Don't you realize that the Lord who created you can make you be the most efficient and capable person at your job? Imagine if you took the power of God and added it to the mundane job that you are doing right now.

And that can be anything from physical labor to intellectual work, to clerical work, whatever your job, it doesn't matter. If you can learn how to add the power of God to that activity, that activity immediately moves to a whole new level. And it'll be a matter of time and everybody will notice that there's something different about you.

Your employer will look down on all of his staff and you will stand out like a shining light and he'll notice you. Now when he sees the potential in you, he may come to the conclusion, this guy is wasted doing what he is. I should move him into a higher activity because he's so good.

Well where did you get that from? Well you know I go to night school and I've been getting a degree on the side and I've been getting more qualifications because you know when I become more valuable through my knowledge and abilities, then I can demand a higher income and maybe I can qualify for that promotion. You been there? That's our logic. Now I've got good news for you today.

You don't have to improve anything you're doing. All you need to do is to ask God to bring his power to bear upon your daily activities. Now if you're working for yourself and you're struggling to make it through and you're struggling to get business, why don't you invite the Lord into your daily activities and make him your partner in business.

Christian business is not about doing things the ethical way. It's about bringing God's power to make you do everything better and it's not going to be so exhausting either because you've got him by your side helping you along the way. So where are you at right now? You say well I'm in ministry and you know I've had a bit of success in my ministry but I would so love my ministry to be increased.

You know I really have a passion for winning souls but I really would just like to see so many souls coming in. I would like to see people more easily accept the Lord when I share the gospel. Well you know I like to flow in prophetic revelation and I get a degree of revelation but I see other prophets who get such amazing revelation.

How do I get to that place? Simple answer add more power to what you're doing. Now this is going to become my hobby horse in the future so get used to it. I'm going to start re-preaching everything I've ever taught in principle and adding the power.

Lord willing I'm going to teach you how to win souls with power. I'm going to teach you how to prophesy with power, to preach with power, to teach with power, to do business and sell with power, to use the arts with power, to build relationships with power. From now on whatever you do in life whether it be making breakfast in the morning, consider how you can add God's power to that activity.

Your life's going to take on new meaning, your circumstances are going to change. You know why? Because you're going to change and when you change things will change and when problems come your way as they will because we live in a sinful world instead of struggling along looking to the world bring the power of God. When pain hits your body and you're afraid you've got something serious instead of panicking and running to the doctors to find out from them if you're going to die or not.

Why not add the power? You may find that you'll never get to see a doctor again if you learn to walk in God's healing power. When finances are tight are you sitting trying to figure out the right way out? Are you considering taking a second job or sending your wife out to work so there's enough income in the home? Instead of looking at natural solutions why don't you stop and add God's power. He's more than willing to get involved in every area of your life.

Now I'm going to end this message by practicing what I preach and I'm going to bring God's power to bear and I'm going to minister to you with his power. What needs do you have right now? Are you feeling insecure and weak and frail? You're afraid to step out and be bold. You're afraid to go and meet people and make relationships so your life has been one of loneliness and despair and you've been crying out to the Lord and saying oh Lord when? When will you change it? God is saying to you let me use my power to bring the change.

I'm going to pray for you now as I was prayed for many years ago. I want you to reach out your hand as you're watching or listening to this message and I want you to just reach out to the Lord and say Lord I'm ready. I'm ready to receive your power to change me and make me into a different person.

For Jesus you see the heart, you see the desire, you see the willingness to trust you and so in the name of Jesus now I'm releasing the anointing and healing power of God to go deep down inside of you to take away all those hurts and the scars that have been left to change the image that you have of yourself that you may see yourself as he sees you and realize that he made you to be a beautiful thing. Do not look in the mirror and say what an ugly thing I am. He made you to be a beautiful thing and if you let his power shine through that body he's given you it's going to transform it.

He's not going to change the features but he's going to radiate something out of it that people will not even notice your features anymore. They won't notice whether you're too fat or too thin or too short. They'll see flowing out of you a radiance of the power of God and you know what it's going to be like a light that the moths and the flies and all the insects will start coming towards.

You won't be alone for long trust me. People will start making a beeline for you because you have something that attracts them. You want that? Receive it now in the name of Jesus.

Receive it now in the name of Jesus. Receive it now. I thank you Lord that you're touching people right now in Jesus name.

Perhaps you have pain in your body right now. It may be something that you are aware of. It may be something that's been diagnosed or just maybe something that you're afraid of.

Whatever the case the Lord wants to heal you. It was never his intention for you to be sick and so the first thing I want to do with now is to take away the fear that you have in your hearts because when Satan comes and whispers in your ear and says you've got something seriously wrong with you, you could die. You can turn to him and say did I ask you to come and lie to me? Did I invite you? Now take your life back to hell where they came from.

And I say that to you now and I say that to those demons that are sitting whispering in your ears. Take your lies back to hell where they came from. I want you to hear his voice.

I died for you and I paid the price for every sickness and disease and I can heal whatever you have. Whether it be a simple cold to cancer or AIDS or the things that doctors call incurable. My power has not changed and my power is ready to move upon you now and to eradicate that thing from you once and for all says the Lord.

And so in Jesus name I declare God's healing power in your body. Perhaps you can put your hand on the part of your body that's suffering now and I'm going to invite the Holy Spirit to move. Lord Jesus move upon that person now in Jesus name.

I declare that pain gone. I declare that inflamed kidney healed. I declare that liver that's malfunctioning to immediately come back into full capacity.

I speak to the joints that corroded with arthritis and filled with stiffness and pain and I say pain go. Inflammation leave. I thank you Lord for your power again through your bodies right now as I pray.

May they sense the pain leave as your healing power flows through them. Perhaps as we're coming closer to the month end now you're looking at your budget and you're saying I don't know how we're going to pay our debts this month. Our income is too low and our commitments are too high.

Is God able to get involved? Absolutely. Is God's power able to do something? Absolutely. The Lord's able to do one of two things.

He's able to increase your income or he's able to reduce your debts. You should see both of those as a provision from the Lord. I sense somebody who's filled with doubt and they're saying I don't see how God can do that.

My income can't increase. I've got a fixed salary and I know my boss is never going to give me an increase. I'm not even talking about the future.

I'm talking about right now this month. What you're facing right now. God is able to bring upon you from a source that you never ever thought of.

A sudden financial provision that will not only meet your needs but have enough left over for you to go out and buy that thing that you have been desiring for so long. You want that? I'm going to ask the Lord to do it for you right now. Lord Jesus, I'm asking you to confirm your word with signs following and I'm asking you to show this person whose heart is so filled with doubt that you are a God who honors his word.

That you are a God who's willing to get involved in our lives and I'm asking you to move with your power in that person's circumstances right now in a way that's so miraculous and so unquestionably supernaturally you. They'll never doubt you again. Oh there's so many needs we can have.

We could go on all day. Whatever you need is right now. I want you to reach out to the Lord and say, Lord I receive your power and I want to take your power now and I want to use it in my daily life and I want to take your power and I want to use it in my work and I want to take your power and I want to use it in my ministry.

I want to take your power and use it in my social activities, in my artistic ability. Well his power is available to you and all you need to do is reach out and to take it. I want you to imagine you're holding up your arm.

I'm left-handed so I would use my left hand. Most people probably use their right hand. I want you to lift your hand like this now and I want you to say, I am reaching out and I am taking the Lord's offer of his power now and I want you to see you closing your hand over that now as he hands it to you, holding it tight and pulling it now towards you, making it yours.

That's really all that faith involves. The old version of Mark 11 24 said, whatever things you desire pray while you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them. I looked up in the Greek and I saw that that word receive is not a passive thing.

The word comes from a Greek word which means to lay hold of with your hands. So I've translated that verse in a better way. Whatever things you desire and the Greek there is the middle voice which means something that you do for yourself.

So God says whatever you are desiring for yourself, don't get all spiritual about it and say God's not going to do it because I'm selfish. What are you desiring from the Lord for yourself? More of his power? Absolutely. He wants to give you unlimited power.

Reach out and take it and it will be yours. Can you see that? Based on the word folks. So I lift up that hand of faith now to reach out and take it.

What do you want from the Lord right now? Tell him, be specific. Lord I want your healing power that I can pray for the sick. Lord I want wisdom to be able to help people in their problems.

Lord I want to be able to help the poor. So give me an ability to make more money, make my business prosper. What are you desiring? What are you desiring now? What power do you need? Reach out and take it.

There's more than enough. I thank you Lord for those who have received this word and are doing it right now, that you'll give them the confirmation that they'll be aware of a new presence of your power in their lives and that the transformation will begin from this day forward. I ask it in the name that's above every other name, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
