Dealing With The World

We see that the first thing that happened to these kings is they went and hid themselves in a cave. They went and hid away. The world is so clever. The world thinks that if it hides away from you and you don't notice it that you will ignore it.

What are you going to do when you rise up in revival power and you think you have overcome the world? Don't you believe it. Satan is subtle and Pharaoh will throw you off the track by just avoiding.

Suddenly you have this great move of God. Suddenly it looks as though you have conquered and you say,

"They have disappeared; they've gone. We did it, guys. Oh hallelujah, let's celebrate. Glory, we've got revival. We've got power and we've defeated the world. Oh yeah, let's make a bit party out of it."

Those kings are still there. They are just hiding away in the cave. When Joshua saw that, he moved very quickly to make sure that they stayed in the cave. He put a whole lot of stones there and trapped them.

Don't be deceived by the world. Make sure that you maintain that attack. And the very first thing that you have to do is to get God's people to seal off their hearts from the influences of this world.

You cannot just go and directly attack those kings in the flesh. You can't go attacking the educational system. You will probably get into trouble with the law. You can't just go and speak publicly against the President and the Senators, the Government and the local municipal leaders, or whoever is in your country and in your area.

Some countries might allow you to wave banners and go on protests for what it is worth, which is nothing. God did not call the Body of Christ to do that. You have to deal with it in the hearts of God's people. You have to get them to seal it off and not allow those things to influence them until the time comes when you can deal with it.

So the first thing you need to do as a Joshua apostle is to get God's peoples' eyes off the influences of the world. Get them diverted away from it.

Shut it off and get those kings locked up in the cave for now. We'll deal with them later. There is a time, and the time will come when God will displace this World System. But there is an order to be followed through.

Do Not Get Militant

God did not call the Joshua apostle to be militant and to rise up, gather all the people together and say,

"We are signing a petition and sending it to our Governor."

You don't need the Spirit of God to do that. Any unbeliever can do that. You do not need revival power to do that. You will accomplish nothing with the weapons of the flesh.

But when God's revival power rises up and God's people go forward in revival power, that system is going to be displaced. You start by getting God's peoples' eyes off those things and get them fixed on the task which lies ahead of them. That task is,

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.

Let's cause them to come into the Kingdom of God. When they come into the Kingdom of God then the kingdoms of this world will begin to lose some of their support.

Revival brings a change in our actions. It is not only a change in our hearts, in our attitudes and in our love, but a change in our actions.

It is up to you as a Joshua apostle to lay out the pattern. You have to implement the principles that Moses has laid out for bringing the church into a new activity; into a new mode of behavior and a new way of functioning in this world.

Put the World in Subjection

After they returned, Joshua called for them to bring those kings out and they laid them on the ground. He called the people and said,

"Okay, come and put your feet on their necks."

There is something about a guy lying there on the ground and you have your foot on his neck. It gives you a kind of sense of control and power doesn't it? You can say,

"Yes you - I could crush you with just one foot. Just you be very careful. I have you under my foot."

Isn't that what Jesus said? He said that we would crush the kingdom of darkness under our foot? He said,

Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you.

The Church of Jesus Christ needs to be made aware that she has power over this world, not by vote or petitions, and not by rallying together and holding some kind of march through the city.

You have authority and power by the Spirit of God, to put the powers of this world under your feet and to hold them there so that they can't move. When you have them there and you have the world under your control, only then is God going to open the way for you to destroy these things and to displace them.

It was only afterwards that these kings were finally dealt with and they were killed. The land wasn't fully taken yet, but the kings, the leaders and influences that were motivating it, were dealt with.

Joshua instructed that they hung them up so that everybody could take a look and never forget them. Never forget what?

Firstly, don't forget who those five kings are. Remember who they are, and don't forget that as far as you are concerned they are dead. They have no power over you. In the name of Jesus you have conquered them and you have overcome them. And they will never affect you or influence your life again.

Death to the World

Then finally Joshua threw them back in the cave and put stones over to keep them buried. Finally the church comes to a place where the world is dead. How does this happen? Galatians 6:14 says:

But God forbid that I should glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

It is the cross.

You say, "Oh no, you're talking death again."

That's right and it is called living the crucified life. It is called living a life that is totally dead to the world. It is called living a life that is dedicated fully to the Lord and to Him alone, where the influences of this world no longer affect you and have no power over you anymore. This is because you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Do you know of an apostle who is always preaching about death? Have you heard and seen somebody like that? Every time you come across somebody like that, go up to them and say,

"Hello Joshua, pleased to meet you."

That is what you are doing as a Joshua apostle. You are continually bringing God's people to death to this world. And then you are bringing the revival power of God to come upon them, and causing them to rise up and be victorious for the Lord.
