How do I know this?

Well firstly He promised He would be if we come together in unity in His name

And secondly, He is resident in each one of us

Yet often we pray and ask Him to be present

What exactly is presence?

Have you ever heard this expression - wherever you are BE THERE

Sometimes a person can be physically present but you do not notice them

They do not carry PRESENCE

What is it that makes a person show presence?

Think of someone you know who carries presence

What characteristics make them stand out

When you walk into a room, who stands out and why?

Lets see if we can identify more specific characteristics that will help us to develop presence

Let me make some suggestions

1. They know who they are

2. If they represent someone else, they are confident about it

They take control of the room

This can happen in several ways

If there are a whole lot of people standing talking they will not join that grou

They will stand in the center and remain silent

Until everyone notices them

Then they will speak boldly, clearly and confidently

Choosing their words carefully

And meaning what they say

Can you see this person in your mind

They stand out and demand your attention

And if they request something you find yourself wanting to do it

A person without presence fails to do this

Nobody notices them or listens to what they have to say

we will get to that

The point is if you are not confident in yourself you will never bring presence

You could if you were confident in someone who appointed you

Some men were sent to Jesus to arrest him but they could not

Their excuse was, “Nobody ever spoke like this man”

How did Jesus speak differently that made Him stand out?

Matthew 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:29 For He taught them as [one] having authority and not as the scribes. [KJV]

This demonstration of authority in speaking is a key to bringing presence

And bring presence is a key to influencing others

Those of you who are preachers need to learn this well

When you stand up to speak what are you saying?

It is actually not even the content of what you are saying that counts

But the way you present it

Learning public speaking involves knowing how to speak in such a way that you get and keep attention

It is not the words you speak, but the way you speak them

Firstly do you really believe what you are speaking?

Or are you just quoting someone else who has a reputation

I have found one of the best ways for my preaching to be effective is for me to first live what I am talking about

When a news item is published in the news, it is more believable when someone was there to witness the event

Second hand news does not carry the same punch

I could tell you all about Jesus from what I read or heard from someone else

But if I have met Him personally and interacted with Him I can do it with far greater confidence

Would you receive marital counsel from a single person who studied the subject but was never married?

Their counsel might be psychologically correctd

But they do not come across as really knowing what they are talking about

I had a real problem with this when I first started out in ministry

I was young and zealous and had studied all the main principles

I could stand up in a pulpit and present them very powerfully

But then if someone came for counsel I was stuck

I could apply the principles to marriage in general, but not specifically to their problem

One of the things that has always made my teaching more acceptable and powerful is that I seldom teach something until I have lived it

I remember in my early years when I had a head full of knowleddge of doctines I tried a verse by verse study of Ephesians

The first four chapters of the book are largely theoretical

I would sit down and write pages of comments on each verse

Then I reached chapter 5 which is most practical

And I could hardly come up with much at all

I just had not yet lived what Paul was saying

This is why most folks misunderstand the teaching ministry

A Bible Teacher is not like a school teacher who fills their head with knowledge and then dispenses this to learners

In fact the preparation and training for a teacher is one of the most intense

A teacher has to learn from real life

So for those of you who are aspiring to be teachers I must ask you

1. How many problems and difficulties have you had in life

2. Did you learn to overcome these using the Spirit and the Word?

If not, then you will never be a teacher

Yet every believer should be aspiring to be a teacher

Here is what the writer of Hebrews says to believers

Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing.

What he is saying, is that after being on the way for a while, you should have learned something from the experiences of life

Now I want to talk tonight about bringing the presence of Jesus in our ministry

I can bring ministry presence as a teacher by teaching the things I have proved in real life

But when it comes to bringing the presence of Jesus much more is involved

We all know that Jesus is present at all times - He is everywhere

But how does He manifest His presence today

He is no longer physically walking the earth, but is seated on the throne of heaven

CAn you see the Holy Spirit?

Can you touch Him with your hands?

Could you give Him a hug?

No He is a spirit without flesh and bones

Luke 24:36 And as they were speaking like this, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, Peace [be] to you.

So how can people experience or meet the Holy Spirit?

He has to be manifest in a human body

When we are born again the Holy Spirit comes to take up residence in us

And He brings with Him all the power that Jesus had

Now if Jesus is resident in you, how can His presence be brought to others?

Well if you come near me, you are also coming near to the Holy Spirit

But how do I manifest Him to others?

By bringing His presence

Someone could spend ages with me and not be aware Jesus even exists

Unless I reveal Him through my words and my actions

To get back to what we started with today

I need to bring His presence into the room

I you desire to minister to someone else, you can only do it by bringing His presence to that person

How will you do this?

Through words and actions

You must act like Jesus and speak as though you are Him

We have learned to use this term, “In Jesus Name”

And we tag onto the end of what we say especially when we pray

As though that forces His presence to appear

But if you want His presence to manifest you must present Him

You must not come on behalf of Jesus, but you must come AS HIM

We believe in praying for the sick

But Jesus never ever told us to pray for the sick

He told us to heal the sick

How can you heal the sick? You have no healing power

No, but Jesus does, and He is in you

so how do you bring His presence again?

But acting like Him and speaking as though you are Him

Do you know that God’s power has always been released in the earth using words?

Just go read again the account of the creation in Genesis

It says again and again, “An God said”

Each stage of creation was carried out this way

Until the final stage where God made mand

God did not make man by speaking

He made his body from the earth and then breathed into it

Then God handed the world over to Adam and Eve

and told them to start acting like Him

To use words and actions to build a life in this world

And since that time God chose to always work through a human channel

But we all come to Him in prayer and expect Him to make a special creation just for us

Unless you fully grasp this important truth you will never get your prayers answered

GOD WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYER THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE

Lord we need money, please will you provide?

And we wait for bank notes to appear from nowhere

No, it will always come via someone

Most of us can grasp that, but what about this

Lord, please will you heal my body?

And we wait for healing to fall on us

But God has ordained that healing comes via other believers

Mark 16:17 And these miraculous signs will accompany those who believed [were entrusted with faith]. In my name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

Actually we all do believe healing comes through other people

Or we would not visit a doctor

But we do not trust our brothers and sisters - we want an expert

Where does the healing power come from ?

It comes from His presence

How do we experience His presence?

Through someone who has Him living inside them

So now if you want to minister to others including bringing healing to them there is only one way to do it

You must bring His presence to them

This can sometimes be accomplished by physical touch - known as the laying on of hands

But when it comes to miracles it works differently

Miracles are always brought using words

Jesus spoke healing miracles

If you go back to some of the miracles performed in the Old Testament you will see the principle there already

Look at where Elijah made the woman’s provisions last when she made him a cake first

He spoke a word first

1 Kings 17:13 And Elijah said to her, Fear not; go [and] do as you have said: but make me of it a little cake first, and bring [it] to me, and after make for you and for your son.

Elijah released a miracle using prophecu

Elisha did the same thing

2 Kings 2:18 And when they came again to him, (for he remained at Jericho,) he said to them, Did I not say to you, Go not?

Here again, a miracle was performed by speaking a prophetic decree

Do you not realize that as a spirit filled believer you also have the authority to speak a prophetic word into the earth

and God will honor that word

Of course a prophet in office can do this more effectively

but God still works through a human chanel

And He can work through your words when you send them into the earth

Isaiah 55:11 So will my [rhema] word be that proceeds out of my mouth: it will not return to me without having an effect, but it will bring about what I desire, and it will accomplish what I sent it to do. [GBMV]

When you speak a word in faith, inspired by His presence and anointing within you, it is like God speaking into the earth

His presence then goes out and accomplishes what you spoke

it is no longer in your hands

But you manifested His creative presence using words

This is not a prayer - crying out for Him to do something

It is a word of command, where you speak AS HIM

Adam had this ability but he lost it through sin

But Jesus came and bought back that right

and now when He comes to live inside you, He brings it back to you

But do you know what we all tend to do?

We cry out to Him, asking Him to do something

Then we wait for it to manifest

And when it does not manifest we come to the conclusion that He said no

NOw When we ask Him, He may bring the answer by inspiring a prophet to send a decree into the earth

This is part of the role of the Prophetic Office - to make God’s will happen in the earth

But if you speak that word yourself in faith, the same thing can happen

But we sit and wait and complain and then give up hope and accept defeat

The bottom line, is that what God does in the earth, He does by bringing His presence to bear on this world

And He always does this through a human channel

So stop waiting in hope. for something to happen

But all means take time to be in His presence and find out what He wants you to do

Then take action and speak the right words

Not words like, “Please Lord help us we are in trouble”

You stand up, aware of his presence in you

and you just act like Him

and you do the Word says He does

He calls the things that are not as though they were

you send a word of creation into the earth

and that word will go out and accomplish what it was sent to do

When you come to minister to someone else, you do not come to Him in prayer and beg Him to heal or provide

You speak a word of decree, calling that thing into existence

Then His presence goes out from you and accomplishes that

But before you can do this, you must become aware of His presence

and I will explain how you can develop His presence and then stand in his presence and present His presence to. world in need

Every believer has this right

You do not need to be a prophet or apostle to do this

I want to make this the main emphasis on our training from now on

Sure we will still teach you how to function in the different ministries

and I want to show you how to preach and teach

But especially I want to help you learn how to develop His presence and then go out and take His presence to others

Good, then as they say in the classics - get ready to boogie

Those who need finances I command the blessing of the Lord on your storehouses - your bank accounts

That they may be filled to overflowing

Those who have health problems I speak a word of healing and divine health

But the store of your health increase to overflowing, displacing all sickness and disease that is trying to steal your health

I command viruses and germs to be eradicated

and I command all spirit of infirmity to flee now in Jesus Name

All bodily functions will return to normal and full function the way they were designed to work

And all diseases will disappear

growths and tumors will vanish away

Cancel cells will die and be eradicated

Pain and stiffness in joints will leave

Blood vessels will be cleared for blood to flow freely

damage to organs is healed in Jesus name

I send forth this word of healing into the earth in Jesus name

and it will go out and accomplish what it was sent to do

and not return without completing this task

I expect to hear testimonies of His grace and healing

receive this now and expect the answer

The word has been sent and will do the work

Thank you for it Lord

Jesus has been present with us today

and His presence continues with you this week

each day become more aware of His presence and learn to walk in it

The Lord said that 2025 is going to be a year of revival and renewal for us. Since both revival and renewal refer to a return to what once was, we feel that the Lord is telling us to bring GBM to a place where it once was. So in a sense we feel we need to approach this ministry as though we are starting it all over again.

This is why I am finally making recordings of about 400 songs we wrote since the beginning. Many of these songs document experiences and learning phases we went through for the past 30 years

Many of you walked those early roads with us. Some left and then returned. We learned a lot during those times, and now taking all the Lord taught us, we want to apply everything afresh as though we are starting out all over again.

Over time things changed, and also the equipment we used especially for sound and recording has grown old. We are still using equipment that we bought in Mexico that is now in some ways obsolete. So it is time for a whole fresh start.

As the Lord has been providing the finances, we have therefore begun to replace our old equipment with newer editions. And then the next step is to restore our live ministry here in South Africa

Covid brought an end to our weekly meetings and also the live classes in our schools. But now that is all behind us and we need to look at these things with new eyes.

So Lord willing, we hope to start by returning to regular weekly meetings on Sunday mornings and we want to encourage anyone who lives near enough to attend, to make time to join us for a time in His presence. We are expecting a new move of the Holy Spirit in the meetings and a greater manifestation of the supernatural with signs and wonders.

As far as training is concerned we want to do more than we did before in training folks to carry out their calling.

In the past we used Saturdays and some evenings for classes, and we would show videos in the lessons and then add new materials. Students could participate in practical projects and practice some of their calling.

But this was largely confined to the Fivefold ministry and there was a great interest mainly in the Prophetic. But folks often missed lessons which made it difficult to keep the studies flowing effectively

So we want to take a different approach now to training ministers. And we will begin by training every believer who has a desire to be used by the Lord, and not only those who feel they have a fivefold calling

We will teach you how to tap into the power of God that is resident in each one, and flow out in ministry using. the gifts of the Spirit

getting to that

If there is sufficient interest, we will set aside suitable times for folks to attend live classes for the purpose of learning to become ministers

There we will teach you the basics of ministry, how to preach and teach and counsel and how to pray for those in need

Then for specialized ministries like the prophetic or apostolic, instead of having regular weekly classes we are thinking of setting up periodic intensive training sessions, perhaps over a full weekend.

These will be complete crash courses and will be available on payment of a fee for each such course.

Those who wish to continue studying online will be able to do this through a website called GBM Courses, where all of the study courses in our existing schools will be available online for those who cannot attend live classes

We want to get away from the idea of getting a certificate of qualification for ministry and want to rather emphasize the importance of learning to do the work effectively

Those who show potential will be able to become partners and affiliates of GBM and run their own ministry under our banner with full licensing and ordination from us

I will be laying all of this out very clearly on the relevant websites soon, and we will be announcing our return to live meetings every week for those who are able to attend, or would like to join us while visiting in our area

We also have a live bookshop with printed copies of all our books for those who wish to purchases printed books. Overseas countries who have amazon can purchase print copies of all our books, but it is difficult to provide these in bookshops in South Africa. So we have these printed ourselves and sell them from our own live bookshop which is part of our ministry center

So perhaps some would like to attend one of our meetings and check out our bookshop at the same time. Or you could visit us any day when we are open

But it is time we do more amongst our own people and country and not just overseas

With live training we can teach you how to preach effectively and if you wish to train others, we can also set you up with your own training center, using our materials and certification.

I am letting you know all of this ahead of time since you are already fellowshipping with us online

But there will be an official announcement soon to our mailing list and to the whole world online

Using modern technology we are able to spread the Word of the Lord and reach the nations for Him. And we hope to set up leaders under my spiritual fatherhood amongst the nations of the world.

So that when you travel abroad you could find a GBM affliated church somewhere and enjoy the same things we offer in all our churches

All of this is going to take a lot of work and resources, so we value your prayer coverage as we begin to birth this in the Spirit

We usually hold an annual conference near the end of the year, but we did not have one this year. It is a lot of work and we need a large number who are interested. I was hoping to have an event earlier this year but the Lord will need to confirm and there will need to be a big interest.
