That love has to be born in us and has to be imparted to us by the Spirit of God. The Scripture says,

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us.

It is the key to revelation. When you begin to walk in that love in the Spirit you don't need to get gifts of revelation. You walk in permanent revelation.

You walk in the presence of the Lord and you get to know Him as a friend. You get to spend time sitting down with Him and having Him all to yourself.

It is available to you. But it is available in the Spirit if you will take the time to make love to Him in the Spirit; to unite your spirit to His.

Works Through Faith

Love gives faith a channel to work through. Galatians 5:6 says,

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision is able to do any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which is energized through [agape] love.

I remember in the early days of the Star Trek movie when they had their little laser guns. In a lot of the space movies and things, you see that they have this key word that they use. It is 'energize'.

You see someone pick up his laser, and he presses a button and says,

"Energizing."

Once it is energized he can pull the trigger and let out that power because it is energized. But until it is energized the weapon is useless.

We saw that faith has a power, but faith needs to be energized. It needs to have a force that works behind it, that gives it its energy and its motivation.

If you are going to use your spiritual laser gun, love is what will energize the laser, and faith will release it into the earth. It gives faith the power to work.

Faith works through love. You must have the two together. You cannot use the one without the other.

Victory Over Evil

Love overcomes evil. 1 John 4:18 says,

There is no fear in [agape] love; but mature [agape] love casts out fear: because fear involves punishment. He that fears has not matured in [agape] love.

As we looked at curses we discovered that fear is the motivating force of all curses. The Scripture tells us that love is God's answer to fear.

Perfect agape love - the love of the Spirit - casts out, dispels, demolishes, disintegrates and completely destroys all trace of fear.

When it does that how can a curse work? How can a curse operate where there is no fear?

Love neutralizes negative words. When words are spoken against you, what is your first reaction? It is to retaliate in fear. It opens the door to the negative. You can respond and say,

"Okay, give me another one there. And give me another one over here."

When you can do that then what can the enemy throw at you? What can people throw at you? They can do nothing. Love will neutralize a negative spirit.

As you begin to communicate with somebody else in spirit to spirit communication, there comes that transfer from their spirit to yours. They take the contamination and the evil that is in their spirit, and they try to communicate it to you. It can happen.

It happens in physical love. You get sexually transmitted diseases that come along with the expression of love. You get bad attitudes that are communicated with a soul to soul communication of love.

And the exact same thing happens in spirit. There comes a communication of a curse from person to person, when there is a communion of spirits with somebody who has a spirit that is contaminated with evil.

If you are walking in love though, you have spiritual protection. You have protection to prevent that thing from penetrating and getting in.

Releases Blessing

Love is the key to blessing. John 15:7 to 9 says:

If you are abiding in me, and my [rhema] words are abiding in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.
In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you shall be my disciples.
As the Father has [agape] loved me, so I have [agape] loved you: continue in my [agape] love.

The fruit of the spirit is love. Jesus said,

"If you are abiding in me and bearing forth fruit, and my words are abiding in you, you are walking in love.

By abiding in me, in my presence and in close communication with me, you are walking in my love. And if my rhema words are in you then you have faith, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the rhema word of God.

If you are walking in love and my faith is within you, you can ask whatever you want and you will have it."

That is faith and love working together as one. There are no conditions, no ifs or buts.

He says, "If you are continually abiding in me and walking in that love it is yours. It is available to you."

Love opens the door to every single blessing and every single desire that you can ever have.

Love Brings Success

And so we see that love is the fount of all the spiritual forces. Without love we cannot succeed.

You need to recognize your need for that love. You need to recognize that you don't have that love, and you need to know where to get it from.

If you are born again of the Spirit of God and His Spirit lives in you, you do have that love. Now you need to know how to cause it to grow, multiply, increase and abound until it is pouring forth from you.

Do you know what is going to happen then? You will start reproducing.

As you begin to go out and touch others and begin to communicate spirit to spirit with other people, you are going to communicate and you are going to birth something in their spirits.

Love begins to get communicated. It begins to go forth. You begin to walk in the love of the Lord and you begin to show the love of the soul as well.

You start being kind to people and you start to say nice things to them. You begin to communicate a loving attitude to people, and before you know it friendships begin to develop. You start to influence people for positive things instead of negative things.

Correct Image in the Home

That is what the Lord requires of us. Have a look at the position you are in right now. If you are a parent then you need to ask yourself this question,

"Am I the image of Christ to my kids? Am I showing them what the Lord is really like? Do I bless them unconditionally by going out and buying a gift for my child when he's been naughty?"

Or do I say,

"Santa is not bringing you a gift because you were naughty this year."

We do it all the time don't we? We make it conditional.

Next time your child deserves to be blessed the least and is expressing the most rebellion and the most ugly spirit, how about pouring out your love upon him? How about giving him something to show your unconditional love?

You say, "You've been very good. I'm really proud of you. I'm pleased because you did well in School. We want to reward you for this and so we are going to buy this thing for you that you have been wanting."

It is so easy to do that isn't it? But how about giving that to them when they have flunked or when they have failed; when they have rebelled and put you to shame, or when they did all the ugly things that you can't stand? Have you ever tried that?

Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. What kind of image of Christ are you giving to your wives?

Do you know what they did to Jesus? They plucked His beard out. Would you let your wife pluck your beard out?

We get so upset when our wives don't do what we want; when they don't behave the way we want or respond to us the way we want.

What if she really abused you? What if she was really nasty to you? Have you ever reached that point? Yet Jesus died for those people and He hung on the cross and said,

"Father, forgive them for they don't know what they are doing?"

Can you love like that? Of course you can't, but Jesus can love like that.

All you need to do is submit to the Christ in you and let Him love through you. Be an image to your wife and be an image to your children.

Correct Image in the Church

If you are in spiritual leadership and are a shepherd of the flock, what kind of image of the Lord are you to the congregation? What is it that you are preaching from the pulpit and communicating to them?

Perhaps you are a prophet of God and you are speaking forth the Word of the Lord to people by the anointing and the Spirit of God.

What are you communicating to them? Do they understand what the love of God is? Do they understand His unconditional love, or are you trying to make everything conditional?

Have a good look at yourself in every area of your life and you will see if there is some area that is lacking. Look at people you work with. How about your boss? How about the church or your family?

In every area of your life, how are you demonstrating and pouring forth to those about you the agape love of the Lord? If you are not doing it then you don't have that love pouring forth from you.

Shine the Light

I think we could all put up our hands on that one, because we have not reached maturity or perfection. And so we need to come into His presence and get a bit of birthing taking place.

What you need to do is 'fall pregnant' in the Spirit. You need to have spiritual intercourse with Him and receive of His Spirit. You need to open yourself wide and say,

"Lord, pour into me the love of God being shed abroad in my heart by your Spirit who is given to me."

Then when you are filled up you just go out like a shining light and shine it forth. Spread it around to everybody else and people are going to get mad at you.

They are going to try and resist you and speak ugly things about you. But you are just going to shine a bit more light on them.

And every bit of darkness that Satan brings against you, you simply light a few more candles, show a bit more light and dispel the darkness.

Eventually the darkness will just give up trying to overcome you. The curses will fall away and you will walk in the blessing of the Lord.
