How many of you got to watch The Foot of Faith?

If you have not yet watched it I recommend you do so after our chat tonight

Because it lines up with what I want to share

I am going to share from my heart tonight on how the Lord has led and been teaching me

And I hope it will give you hope and a direction to follow in both your spiritual life and your ministry

I grew up in Pentecost, and although I never saw much in the way of miracles, I was exposed to the idea from a young age

I remember watching movies of preachers like Oral Roberts and TL Osborn

So when I first felt the call of God I had dreams of standing up one day like that and ministering in power to the people

But the Lord led me a very different way, and I found that I functioned best as a teacher

I saw in the established church a system that was not the way I believed God wanted His church to function

So I determined to somehow teach folks the right way

and the best way I thought it could be done was to train the leaders

So I made it my goal to train the highest level leaders in the church - the Fivefold MInistry

In t ime I discovered that the main goal in this was to quaify folks to become Apostles and Prophets

The Lord showed me that a prophet is given a key of authority to release God’s purposes in the earth

And the Apostle is given the authority as a leader to set things in place

But I. found that teaching was not enough

There needed to also be a manifestation of the power of God

So in recent years the Lord told me to move the emphasis from just the word, to moving in the Spirit

And I began to look to the Lord for a greater manifestation of His power in both my life and ministry

After receiving the prophet key I learned how to use this new authority to make things happen

I had the power to bind and loose

and I could use that power on circumstances and people

I went through a season also of dealing with demons and bringing deliverance

I learned that I had authority over all demons in Jesus Name

and as I progressed in spiritual warfare I found myself getting involved in direct conflict with high level demon powers

The ultimate was when Lucifer himself came to try and deter me

When I realized i was standing in front of the Prince of Darkness I was tempted to fear

But I knew the Word and I knew my authority

So I quoted the Scripture to him - at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow

and I made him bow to me since I stood in the Name

Then I also did warfare with the other two members of the Infernal Trio or the Council of Wickeness, which are terms I chose for them

I know my authority and when I came in confrontation with demons I used that authority and they had to flee

But then, when I began to move more to using the anointing, things changed

Now I wanted to bring healing to sick bodies and I wanted the healing power of God to flow through me

But somehow it just did not flow the way I hopee

and there was little evidence of miraculous healing

I began to despair and seek the Lord for ways of increasing the anointing

and how to release the anointing

When I used authority I was very bold and confident

I knew how to use the Name of Jesus and my prophetic key

But I really did not know how to release the anointing for power

I tried reading the life stories of great men of God and how they came to be used by God

But it seemed they all got it a different way

And many had to be activated by someone else

Clearly I needed more anointing to do miracles

But how do I increase the anointing

WEll the Lord made it clear to me that there are not levels of anointing

Because the anointing is person

Christ the Anointed One lives in me

and He has the full anointing

So how come I could not seem to tap into it and release it

I even wrote a book Entitled Tapping Your Inner Resources, where I researched the subject

But I could not seem to life the level of my anointing to the miraculous level

I saw preachers like Benny HINN who made people fall under the power

But I thought that was just a show and did not want that

Yet somehow these guys had something I did not have

and i cried out to the Lord to show me how to get it

Were they destined to have it and me not?

I even tried fasting but it did little

Then I saw some video footage online of a Nigerian Preacher who seemed to have great power to heal

I told the Lord that I want what he has

I watched as he healed ten folks in wheelchairs with one word of command

When I saw this I told the Lord, I want that kind of anointing

Pastor Chris shares a story of how he went to visit someone with Benny Hinn and the guys mother was paralysed in a wheel chair. They had prayed for her many times, including Benny Hinn, but she was never healed

He asked if he could give it a try

Then he just went and did what he did in that video

He commanded the demons to leave

and she jumped out of the wheel chair

When they left, she walked them to the door

What puzzled me was that he did not lay hands or pray a prayer of healing

He just commanded

and it happened

I have read of other men who were used mightily in this kind of healing

One was a south african who has since died a guy name Kobus van Rensbury

A visiting preaching from the USA asked him how he got the gifts of healing and miracles

and he said that he was not aware of having any special gifts

But he could pull people out of wheelchairs and even folks with aids were healing in his church

I kept thinking, Wow these guys have such an anonting

But poor little me I cannot even come close

But then the Lord showed me that we all have the same anointing

There are no levels

So how come they can get it to work and not me?

But the more I tried to tap into the anointing the less it seemed to work

Spmetimes I could even feel the power in my hands

but no healing came

I began to teach on the forces of the spirit

and I have been waiting for the Lord to show me how to increase those forces and then release them

But I have not preached it yet, because I have not succeeded in getting it to work

Then. recently I watched another preacher from the USA and he made a statement that resonated in me

He said, there is very little in the Scriptures about the anointing

But what we see all the time it the mention of authority

We know that Jesus carried the ultimate anointing

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with [dynamic] power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him. [GBMV]

But nobody ever asked Jesus where he got the anointing from

Instead they referred to his authority

Matthew 21:23 And when he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority are you doing these things? and who gave you this authority? [GBMV]

Do you remember when Jesus first sent out his disciples to go and preach

It says He gave them authority

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called to himself his twelve disciples, he gave them authority [over] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. [GBMV]

Why did Jesus not give them some of His anointing?

Because he was not yet glorified

That only came when He returned as the Holy Spirit

But He could delegate His authority to them

and they used that authority to not only cast out demons but also to heal the sick and raise the deaad

Remember when Peter and John went to the temple to pray and they met the cripple man

Peter did not use any anointing to heal the man

He said, “I am giving you what I have”

Then he made a command

Did Jesus not do the same - Rise, take up your bed and walk

When they asked Peter how he did it, this is what he said

Acts 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what [dynamic] power, or by what name, have you done this? [GBMV]

Peter replied that His name and the power in His name healed the man

Here is what Jesus promised to His discples and also to us

Luke 10:19 I am giving to you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and also [authority] against all the [dynamic] ability of the enemy: and nothing will ever hurt you. [GBMV]

Both serpents and scorpions are poisonous creatures

But each has a different effect

Smakes can bite and inject their poison to make us sick

and even cause death

The sting of a scorpion however is more painful

So in a way sickness and pain can be illustrated by serpents and scorpions

so it clear that it has always been a case where authority comes first before a manifestation of the anointing

Let me explain to you now the concept of anointing

Right from the Old Testament the anointing was never considered a tangible force

It was a procedure by which someone was appointed to a place of authoirty

When someone was crowned as king he was anointed with oil

That oil was a picture of the power of God

And it gave the king the power of authority

And when he acted on that authority, God was there to back him up all the way

Consider authority in the world now

The city employees a person to hold authority and control traffic

Suppose the traffic cop is a weak sickly little guy who cannot do much else

Yet when he stands up and raises his hand to command traffic to stop it has to stop

He holds authority, but not power

If that big truck driver decides to reject his authority he could just run over the little cop

But that cap has the full backing of the city and municapality

and he someone opposed his authority, he has something bigger to encforce his actions

Well when you became a believer you were anointed to take a place of authority

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them He gave authority to become the sons of God, [even] to those that believe on his name: [GBMV]

When you are born again you receive an anointing

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, [is] God; [GBMV]

God anointed you as a member of HIs royal family

So when you use that authority you are speaking on behalf of the king

And He will back everything you command

When you are trained an qualify for a ministry office you are also given additional authority

The Prophet receives a key which is a symbol of authority

And that gives the authority to bind and loose

The Apostle gets even more

They are given a crown, robe and scepter

all symbols of authority

So where does authority come from?

It is delegated downwards from God

and it comes with the anointing

That anointing is the very presence of Jesus

So if you want to see HIs power in action all you need to do is assert your spiritual authority

It is not your power, but His

and He will back you all the way

NOw I want to share with you what I discovered years ago but forgot

way back when I was first in ministry I wanted to preach on the anoinint

So I began to do a search of the Scriptures for every verse I could find on the anointing

I mean the Bible should be full of it

We all know that we need the anointing to do anything for the Lord

and the anointing seems to come and go

When i had my own church and preached every Sunday I had the following experience

Some weeks the anointing was there and it flowed well

Everyone greeted me afterwards and told me how well I preached

But then sometimes the Lord seemed to be busy elsewhere

and there was zero anointing

Nobody even wanted to greet me at the door because my preaching really sucked

if you are a preacher you know what I am talking about

So I wanted to find some nice Scripture passages on the anointing

I was expecting to find lots of passages

but what I found was this

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, [is] God; [GBMV]

1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you about all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in him. [GBMV]

Both of these passages speak about the anointing being a one off event in the past

It does not need to be repeated

If you are a believer you are already anointed

If you are in ministry office you have an additional level of authority

Now all you need to do is to use the authority you have been given

and when you do, the Lord will back you all the

The anointing is HIS not yours

In fact, He IS THE ANOINTING

when you assert the authority He has given you, He will always manifest His power to back you

Oh what a liberty this brings now

Whether I need Him to meet my own needs or the needs of others

I only need to use the authority He has given, and all of heaven will back me

Now suddenly I have found that when I pray with authority I sense a greater manifestation of the anointing than ever

NOw Satan will challenge your authority

That is why you need to know the Scriptures to prove to him you have authority

When I faced Lucifer and hit him with the Word and my authority he could not argue

He was seeting mad, but he had to bow

And if you are dealing with sickness then you are always dealing with demons

because Satan is the author of sicknessa and disease

Ok I want to end now on how all of this applies to all of us as believers

When Jesus gave the Great Commission telling us to go out and win the lost, he said the following

Mark 16:15 And he said to them, Go through the whole world, and proclaim the good news to the whole of creation.

Do you realize that the first thing Jesus said all believers should do is cast out demons

he did not mean go casting demons out of other people only

But every day you will face a fresh attack from demons to steal the blessing of the Lord

The Late Yonggi Cho advised that you should start your day binding all the demons that are set to attack you

You have the authority to do this in His Name

Then the second thing He said all believes should do is speak in other tongues

The Apostle Paul said, “I thank the Lord I speak in tongues more than any of you”

This is the source of our power

Your spirit is the agent that dispenses the power of God that is resident in you

in fact I always use tongues to come against demons

and when I do they flee

I hve. this AFrican click language that feels like I am firing bullets

and I always use it to come against demons

Now if you can just do this each day - cast the demons out of your life and speak in tongues your spiritual life will soar

And when you are set in this, then it becomes natural to follow on with the third acdtivity

Deal with all the things that are attacking you, then go lay hands on sick folks and get them healed

I will be teaching more on how to cast out demons and how to use tongues effectively

then everyone will also know how to minister to the sick

So to recap what we have covered

If you are believer you have been anointed

and that anointing gives you authority in the name of Jesus

When you use that authority, all of heaven will back you and bring the necessary power

Instead of struggling with demons, just use your authority over them

and then make lots of time to speak in tongues

and keep charged up in His power

I hope this lesson has given you fresh hope of moving in His power and seeing the anonting of God in your life and ministry

When things go wrong, do not cry out and complain

Just pull out that authority and tell the demons - “Oh no you don’t”

Instead of waiting for God to do something

You must rise up and use what He has given you

Command the blessing

Now I command the blessing on each one of you

May you be blessed going out and coming in

May your bank accounts overflow with provision

and you bodies about in good health

and may you have favor with everyone that you meed
