WhatsApp Chats - Chapter 4 of 30

June 10 2024
Good to see you all, let’s just give a little more time for others to join
In our students chat on Saturday we tried something diffferent
I wanted to show the students how to form pictures using the Word in a similar way to what they learned while getting prophetic revelation
So we took a passage of Scripture and looked at it verse by verse
And everyone got a chance to share what they saw in each verse
Then I shared what I could see was the main theme that the Lord was showing in the whole passage
So that the study in the end became almost a prophetic word to everyone
Now the bible has this kind of power
EAch time you read a particular passage you may see something in it that you did not see before
And the Lord can use the same passage of Scripture to minister to many different areas of your life
There is a concept used in the world known as brain storming
This is where you take a topic or subject and each person gets a chance to share what they know or see
Each one may have their own opinion, but as different folks share, they can spark you off to see something you did not see before
Well the same things happens when you take a passage of Scripture and study it together as a group
Usually there is one person - the preacher telling you what they see in this passage
But with this kind of study everyone can get a chance to share what they see
In the end there comes a flow where the Holy Spirit in each one begins to put together all the pieces to form a specific message
Then I as the leader, will try to take those pieces and weave them together into one message, which I believe the Lord is trying to give us
This is one of the best things to do in home cell or home church meeting
Often these meetings are nothing more than a smaller version of what happens in the main church meeting
And preachers and leaders tend to dominate
But the church is a body having different members
and each member has a different function
When they are all put together, the body does something that involves every member
This is how the church should function and it is how church meetings should flow.
There is a time and place for formal preaching and teaching
But when it comes to fellowship and the body ministering to itself, everyone should be involved
This may be new to you, but I am sure by the time we are finished tonight you will get a sense of excitement and enjoy the experience
And this will happen only if everyone participates
So I am going to give you the passage of Scripture that we will be looking at
And we will go through it one verse at a time
And you will all get a chance to share what you see in this passage
I will help guide you with some prompts and suggestions
But I am not going to run the study as I usually do
Everyone ready?
To make sure we are all on the same page, I am going to direct you to the GBM Version of this passage, so that we all read the same thing
I will give you a link to the passage online in the GBM Bible Version
Here it is, just click on it and you will be taken there
https://gbmbible.gbmi.co.za/gbm-bible/?book=40&chapter=14&verse=22&version=GBMVhome
To get the context right, Jesus had just performed a miracle where he fed over 5000 people
we are going to look at the event that took place after this
So we start with the first verse in our passage
Matthew 14:22 And immediately Jesus made his disciples get into a ship, and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away. [GBMV]
Now this is the kind of passage that we usually skim over when reading
But we are going to get some truths out of every verse, including this verse
So I want you to share what impressions come to your mind as you read this verse
The floor is open please feel free
Please respond quickly as our time is limited
good
Just a hint if you get stuck reading a passage, try using the six serving men
Who, what, when, where, why and how
Apply these to the passage to see things in it
good keep them coming
WEll you are already jumping into the next vers
Lets assume this was the only verse you knew
good point
See how many different things are coming out?
Imagine now that you were one of the disciples
What would you think or how would you want to respond?
Here is what I see, “Ok Lord we will head out, but how will you join us, since we have the boat?”
Then consider the crowd. Imagine if you were in a meeting where the preacher did some amazing things? How would you respond at the end of the meeting?
one answer only
the first is what I wanted
If Jesus did not send them away the meeting could have gone on all night
yes this is what I was seeing
So perhaps Jesus sending off his team first was a kind of sign to the crowds
Ok guys, time is up
good
I see something else here
There is a time when the Spirit of God moves
But when it is over, then it is time to move on
Many preachers who flow in supernatural power know this
If they continue to try and minister when the dove has flown they exhaust themselves
Jesus knew when it was time to quit
Can you see now how much we got from an obscure verse, just by meditating on it
Lets see what we can get from the next one
Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the crowds away, he went up into a mountain by Himself to pray: and when the evening came, he was there all alone. [GBMV]
welcome Moagi
Why did Jesus need to pray - He was in touch with the father at all times
Perhaps he needed to ask the Father how the heck he was going to get across the sea?
good points
remember that Jesus had been ministering for some time from earlier in the day already
And he was probably physically exhausted
good
Yet He not only took time out to pray, He did on a mountain
So He still had to do some climbing first
good
So lets consider the condition or circumstances Jesus was in
and some reasons why perhaps he needed to pray
And maybe we can learn a few things about prayer
Some of you already pointed out that he needed a fresh touch
or empowerment
So lets write down some of the things that applied to Jesus here
I will give the first one
1. He was drained physically
Yes giving thanks is a form of prayer
thank you Pam
now we have two conditions
I would think Jesus was always in fellowship with the Father
But it is easier when there are no distractions
Why did He climb the mountain first?
any suggestions?
yes and no
He had dismissed the crowd
But there could still be some folks hanging around
good Pam
What are the chances anyone else who had been there the whole day would be stupid enough to climb a mountain as it was getting dark?
Jesus did not have the flesh
He was sinless
He simply wanted to be alone without any distractions
These is another reason maybe he wanted to be alone
Consider this passage
Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain to be alone,
Here is where you bring in other knowledge of the Word that you have in order to interpet Scripture
What happened on the mount of transfiguration likely happened every time Jesus prayed
Just this time his disciples saw. it
The disciples likely fell asleep while he was praying
They woke up and saw him glowing
Maybe that is why he always made sure he was alone when he prayed
When Jesus prayed it was not for the same reasons we pray
One time we know he prayed all night was when he was choosing his disciples
As someone already said, he did only what He saw the father do
Did Jesus need to get his spirit recharged ?
He had the Father living inside of Him
correct
He was god but also man
That being the case, what lesson can we learn here?
The reason I am pointing this out to you is that the Lord has shown me that we have what Jesus did - the fullness of the Holy Spirit inside of us
I wrote a whole book on this called Tapping Your Inner Resources
When you join with the Lord in prayer it does not affect your spirit
But it affects your body and soul
And when the soul and body are made ready, then the power can flow out freely
And here I believe is the message that the Lord has for us tonight
If we want to do what Jesus did, we need to follow His pattern
And part of that is to make prayer an important activity
But we need a fresh understanding of what prayer is
When Jesus prayed, the power that was in His spirit flowed out through his soul and into his body
and he began to shine with the glory
Moses had the same experience on the mountain in the presence of God
So how should we go about praying and how long should we pray?
Now Jesus was God manifest in the flesh
He was the Word who was at the beginning and was God manifested to mankind
We understand now that God is manifest in three different ways
And just as Jesus spent time with the father, we need to spend time with each of the Godhead
I explain the three relationships we can have with God in my recent book The Essential Mantles of anointing
Which is now available also in printed form
let me ask you a simple question
When you come to pray, who do you pray to?
The father, the son or the holy spirit?
trick question
I explain in my book the different relationships we can have with each one
But most of us do not know how to engage in any of these
We still think Prayer is bringing requests to the Lord
We have stock here at hq
But Jesus only ever brought one request to the Father
and it was denied
exacdtly
When you engage in true prayer you engage all the members of the Godhead
You start by fellowshipping with the Comforter
This is our Jesus replacement, the Holy Spirit
Then you move up into touching the Risen and Ascended Christ
And the highest level is when you enter into the presence of the father
Not everyone experiences all of these
I explain in the book how I experienced them
This is true prayer
And it starts with praise
Then it leads into worship
and finally it ends in the glory
This is the kind of prayer Jesus did and the kind of prayer we should engage in
And if you do, you may find yourself able to do many of the things that Jesus did
This is when you have fully tapped the spiritual resources that are within you
Well I think you have seen what can happen when you do this with the Scriptures
You find yourself getting a message or direction from the Lord
And we did not even get to the main event in this passage
You start by praising the Jesus you know via. the Comforter
And he will bring you into the throne room of the risen chirst
The throne room of the father is only accessible when you have been prepared over a period of time
Who was Jesus giving teaching to before Calvary?
To believers?
exactly
So the Lord’s prayer was never meant to be a pattern for the Church
It has principles we can apply
But it is not the New Testament pattern for the Body of Christ
If you want to see more of how the early church prayed, check out their prayer meeting that ended up with the place being shaken
But Jesus is still out best model
well I think you folks did great tonight with this first attempt at studying like this
So perhaps we can continue this passage next week and see what comes out next?
Did you all enjoy it?
I suggest you become familiar with the GBM Online bible and learn to use it, because it has lots of tools in it to help you study
Go to the main page at https://gbmbible.gbmi.co.za/gbm-bible/
If you login it will keep your last reading reference
there is also a full set of video tutorials to help you learn how to use it
Some time I will show you how to use the original Greek or Hebrew in Strongs to study passages
But most of that is also covered in the videos
Well that is it for tonight. Have a wonderful blessed week and we will see you next week.
Students also have another kind of study on Saturday nights
and there I am beginning to show how the teaching ministry works
great to have you Moagi
Are you just dying to watch a new message to inspire and help you in your spiritual life? Well, look no further, because today I finally got to preach the second message in our full series on Dealing With Bad Mantles. You can go and watch it here now: https://gbm-academy.com/resources/video/dealing-with-bad-mantles/how-satan-gets-access.mp4. Let me know what you think.
awesome I have had several stages like this also where the zlord uncovered more. It csn be progressive
I am starting to work on making some video ads for our products. Here is one I made today for the Elements of the Prophetic Ministry. Tell me what you think of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4sU24-Bf2M&t=47s
thanks Mark
yes the first one was just an experiment
I am starting with stuff where I have a suitable song first. There is another one at the top of the gbm hq page: https://gbmi.co.za
Thanks for the feedback Mark. I will go in this direction for now until we have an ad for all our books.
There is a longer one here, but similar format - https://apostolicschool.co.za/
We are hoping it will get folks to the bookshop and bring in some sales. I plan to put them everywhere now, maybe even in my blogs
We want to wish all fathers a blessed day today and pray that you will be honored and appreciated by your family. To those who have risen up as spiritual fathers, you also be honored by those in your spiritual family. If you would like to know more about spiritual and apostolic parenting I highly recommend you consider obtaining my book on this subject, which is the second book in the set Seven Functions of Apostolic Leadership. I am giving you access to my new video ad for this book and a link to it in our bookshop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TTUpCaLhMw&t=1sGet the book here: https://www.gbm-bookshop.com/product-detail/?product=226
Why don’t you enroll as a student and you will have access to all the books. There are several covering the Apostolic Calling.
https://apostolicschool.co.za/
All classes are currently only online. We do not have sufficient live students to justify live classes
Once of the benefits of being a student is you get access to all of our published books and eventually audios at https://gbmbooks.gbmi.co.za/
That depends on you, but we usually give you access to a new lecture each week. You need to allow time to live the lessons. You cannot qualify just by study. The projects you submit allow me to assess where you are. Otherwise it is a two year course
You will get Bachelors Degree for first year and Masters for second year
We are not an educational institute we are a ministry training institute. If you are studying with us to gain a piece of paper rather than qualifying for your calling, then you are not suitable as a student with us. We have no interest in registering with the Government or being controlled by the world system.
The mandate of this ministry is to help build the new church - a church that is not run as in the Status Quo church system but follows God’s order for the Church. We encourage our students to register their ministry as a business, as we have done rather than as a ministry
We are registered as Global Business Ministries International Pty Ltd and we are subject to normal business taxation we are not non profit
The moment you ask Government for a tax break, you come under their control
You will learn as an apostle that the new church will be built on a different pattern to the old. Many who come to us for training are not ready to unlearn the worldly principles that have been programmed into them
Thanks John. Pity they don’t have a son’s day huh?
Thanks Ricks
Thanks Eunice
Thanks Francis
I want to give thanks to my Father on this day when we all celebrate our fathers. You made me and birthed into me and raised me up in your image to take my place in your Kingdom.
Thanks so much Pam, receptive listeners go a long way to making this possible also 😀
Thanks Nakia, I have great expectation of seeing you take the soiritual DNA you received and running with it.
check out my new ad for John’s book. I did not realize just how much he put in that book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKDQnCHa7e0
Last week we started a group study on Matt 14:22-32 and everyone had a chance to participate. In the end we only covered the first two verses and the Lord used them to give us a clear message. Tonight we will continue from verse 24 and see what main message the Lord brings us this time. Try to be there because it is exciting being a part of what the lord is doing. You will learn how to use the Scriptures to hear His voice.
No problem see you next week
