It's the damn thing and So they do it Thinking it's the right thing to do but they don't understand what is implied in this Okay the scripture Teaches us a principle known as the doctrine of original sin and that doctrine teaches correctly that as a result of the sin of Adam and Eve a sinful nature Was created Which is then passed down To every descendant of Adam and Eve So that each one of us are born Already contaminated With a sinful tendency that drives us to sin Now everybody believes this just people have different ideas on how it is meant to be remedied and the first confusion comes with the idea that baptism is For washing away sins Baptism is not for washing away Sins the blood of Jesus washes away sins, okay I'll explain to you quickly what water baptism is So you can understand why it's stupid Do you think that you must baptize a child? Okay Water baptism is a covenant act which symbolizes a burial because the death Has taken place For new believers, it is a step of obedience And it's only for adults Not for children Baptism comes from the Greek word of kids or which means to immerse underwater Well, unless you want to drown your baby, we can't do that So we got to change it when it comes to baby baptism We we're gonna sprinkle a bit of water on the baby and call that baptism Well Eventually, they started to apply that to adults as well You know and so since baptism is a burial what you do is you bring the coffin Open it up and we sprinkle a few grains of dirt on the person. So that's it. You buried now And they got to go under the ground to be buried and that's why you got to go under the water To bury the old nature the old person.
Okay, what a baptism very important for every believer as a Covenant act baptism does not save you Baptism does not create any special favor with God What baptism does is it puts you into a covenant relationship with God? Where you put the past behind you once and for all and you identify with the body of Christ That is why baptism very often is linked with joining church membership Because you're now Allying with a group of believers in that process and so I guess in a sense idea is when you baptize the baby The baby is now purified of sin The original sin is now gone Because if it wasn't and the baby dies What happens to sinners? They go down Not up. So if you don't baptize your baby and deal with that original sin and your baby dies Your baby's going straight to hell Unless you Catholic in which case is going to purgatory and we can maybe do something to get him out Well Jesus just cut right through that whole thing and he said bring the children to me because the kingdom of heaven is made of such as these Another place he brought a child And he said unless you become like a child You'll never see the kingdom of heaven a child is innocent As a child have original sin. Absolutely.
You don't have to teach a child to be naughty Comes naturally built in The nature of sin eventually begins to manifest but you see what overcomes original sin Is a commitment and a choice to accept the work of Calvary and to accept Jesus as your Savior And to be born again When you do that scripture says that you are baptized into the body of Christ in other words, you are immersed and placed into the Universal Church, which is made up of every single Believer you then follow that with a public confession of your faith in water baptism Demonstrating that the old you has died and you are burying that old you and you coming out of the water in resurrection and newness of life so once only covenant step Which every believer should go through otherwise, they actually kind of still hanging on to their old life It's also like signing on the dotted line. It's a commitment So you better instruct your baby to repent and To accept the Lord as their Savior So that they can be baptized in water. Oh how foolish But these people teaching this out there lots of them now christening has no scriptural foundation whatsoever Okay It was something that was done in Bible days however, and a lot of people like to now link christening with this and that is The children of Israel were God's covenant people and God Said that as a sign of their covenant every male child was to be circumcised And so on the eighth day the child would brought to the temple and The priest would take a sharp knife and cut the foreskin off ouch Thank the Lord for modern medicine But They say that the eighth day is actually The best day for it because medically they have proved that on that day the blood of the child has come to a place where it has the best clotting capability and healing of the wound So there's a reason God said the eighth day Okay so people say well christening is like circumcision as Setting the child apart.
Well Then why didn't you only christen boys? Because there's only male child That was circumcised not a female child. You see the circumcision was a covenant act for the nation of Israel It doesn't apply to us as believers You don't have to have your sons circumcised So a debate on that it's healthy it's good. It's the best thing.
I tell you what when my son was born He suffered so much already in the first Part of his life. The last thing I wanted to do was to subject him to the extra pain of a circumcision and quite honestly If God created it in the first place Apart from a special covenant that God made why should we take it away? Okay his arguments for both sides They say that that men who have not been circumcised are more likely To have wives that get cervical cancer and there's a whole lot of hullabaloo with it, but you know what that's the world It's the world now the act of circumcision was very similar To what we're going to look at in the dedication under Jewish law The male child had to be brought to the temple to be circumcised and in a sense set apart For the Lord because that's what the act of circumcision meant, okay Well now what is dedication involved? We saw it right there The mother's brought their children to Jesus that he would lays hands on them and bless them Okay, it's bringing a child to Jesus for blessing Okay, now there's a little bit more involved in that and I want you to understand this today Before we actually do the dedication so to understand the principles involved When the child was brought for circumcision according to the law that child was become became a partaker of the covenant of God and was thereby set apart as Part of the nation of Israel which were God's set apart chosen people Okay, when you bring your child for dedication you are setting that child apart For the Lord You're not just coming to have somebody lay hands and pray for them Lord bless her bless her bless her. Yeah, let's go home No, you are taking an act of saying I am dedicating this child to the Lord We're going to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit We're going to take the child out of darkness and into the kingdom of lights We're going to bring a new Relationship in the spirit and at the same time we are going to break generational curses That have come down through family generations that Satan will now try to impose on that new life We're going to block it.
We're going to break it. We're going to stop it right there You see how important this is? Now when you dedicate your child to the Lord You are giving him or her back to the Lord They have two cases in Scripture Where a mother had to give up her son? First one was Hannah who couldn't fall pregnant and she prayed earnestly She cried out to the Lord and she made the Lord a promise. She said Lord if you will give me a boy I will give him back to you and I will I will set him apart with a Particular vow that was in Israel at that time known as the Nazarite vow That his hair wouldn't be cut It was kind of a dedication at the head but she said I will give him to you and so God gave Hannah the son that she desired and She cared for him and looked after him until he was old enough To go to the temple and to be trained prophet Samuel and she left him She brought him and said yeah Lord.
I Give him now to you She didn't let him go she didn't ignore him she visited him periodically at the temple made him new little clothes to take Did the thing that mothers do? But she'd given him to the Lord The Prophet Samuel became one of the greatest greatest prophets in the Old Testament What a mighty man of God One of the judges of Israel The other was the mother of Moses Who put his son in a little basket in the bulrushes and Basically committed him to the Lord and God took care of it that Pharaoh's daughter found that little child and His sister came running and said How would you like to have a Hebrew woman who can take care of the child for you Brilliant when to call her mom and She got her baby back with full support from Pharaoh Oh Before the child was about to get killed by Pharaoh now She take gets her child back and she could bring her child up again until he was old enough To be given totally away He became the great leader that Israel still looks to today Produced all the laws of the Old Testament Mighty man of God Now if these mothers hadn't made that commitment were not prepared to let go and give that child to God We may never heard of them you realize that as a mother You have an opportunity To make your child famous But it's gonna cost you There's a price to pay It's gonna cost you Dedication is something that is carried out on a parent It's not something that's done by the preacher It's done by the parent and And part of that dedication is a promise To bring this child up in the Lord and to teach that child the Lord's ways and Encourage that child to serve the Lord all the days Their life so now who's involved in the dedication? Well the baby I Think that's quite obvious and Innocent little child without guilt Certainly with a sinful nature, but without guilt in the presence of the Lord the child cannot accept responsibility for its sin Even when it does fail and then the parent The parent must be prepared to give the child back to the Lord the parent must take Responsibility for the upbringing of the child and the parent must renounce family generation curses That are coming down from them unto their child as a child is not old enough to do this The preacher cannot do it You as a parent must do that if you don't That generational curse will begin to manifest itself Very soon and grow and manifest as the child grows up and then the third Entity involved is the church the body of Christ Jesus isn't here in the flesh But he lives in us and so we as members of the church and Leaders of the church we represent the Lord and as Jesus came to lay his hands on the children to bless them So we now in Christ acting as Christ we do the same thing We lay our hands We speak blessing on the baby and we set that baby apart For the Lord and what are the effects? What what is the result of all of this? Well, the first thing is the child is now released and protected from demonic spiritual attack Satan wants to kill that child because that child is a threat in its innocence Try to kill Moses Try to kill Jesus and If you are called to higher ministry chances are somewhere along in your life. They didn't try to kill you as well Because he doesn't want you to rise up Dedication empowers the Holy Spirit to begin to work in the life of that child from the very early stages and The child now becomes part of the body of Christ Becomes part of a protection and a covering And now can inherit all the blessings that are available as a believer Though the child is innocent before the Lord in a sense We are bringing her or him to a place of closer relationship to the Lord right from an early age Dedication can also be a time of prophetic revelation and Prophetic words that can be spoken over the child When Jesus was brought to be circumcised two people spoke a prophetic word over him an old man named Simeon He came up and the Lord had revealed to him that he was going to see the Messiah and he came and he blessed the baby Jesus and prophesied over him Prophesied over his mom at the same time and warned her that she was going to go through a terrific pain That a sword would strike through her own heart Which of course happened when he was crucified on the cross of Galilee and then an old woman Called Anna It's the only New Testament scripture which speaks about a prophetess Let me just throw this in there are no prophetesses in the New Testament Okay, and I was a prophetess because she was part of the Old Testament in the Old Testament We have Deborah the prophetess. We have various different women who called prophetesses.
The term prophetess was invoked under the Old Covenant Under the New Covenant, there is no gender for a prophet if you want to just get me angry Announce yourself as apostle so-and-so and prophetess wife. Oh, they love to do that under you've seen him Well, Anna was a prophetess She was one of the old last generation prophetesses and she too. She too came and confirmed the word of Simeon so Dedication can be a good time when When God can speak a prophetic word over a child and I found that very often When I have dedicated a child That the Lord actually gives me a revelation of the future calling and ministry of that child If you came to ask for prayer while she was about to go into hospital and we prayed over this little one While she was still in the womb And the Lord gave me a vision I Can tell you what she's gonna look like when she's much older.
She's gonna be beautiful slim Dressed smartly She's gonna stand up and preach the Word of God and speak the Word of God. She's gonna be a mighty servant of God I saw that before she was even born Today we're gonna confirm that if you lay hands on I feel the anointing on it Even now that child is set apart already for the Lord and God has a purpose for her life You got it very carefully because Satan will not be Satan will not be happy about that. He's gonna try and attack You got her very carefully, but she is in danger of a far greater attack from the enemy When she goes through Adolescence in the puberty years and she's gonna face greater temptations and attacks It's up to you to bring her up in the Lord And cover her and protect her and teach her how to rise up In the power of God that choice by a parent to dedicate their child and give it back to the Lord is immensely powerful I stand here today Because shortly after I was born My mom and dad held me up to the Lord.
They told me this And they said Lord We give him to you Use him the way you choose He's yours. I stand here today because my folks Dedicated me to the Lord It's not what they did bringing me to a church service They made the choice and Dedicated me to the Lord Well Satan tried to kill me back there already He's tried many times to kill me because he knew what God had in mind for me. And that's why I say be careful Be careful God your children Now every baby should be dedicated to the Lord Shortly after birth and When they are brings a special blessing to both the child and to the parents It's far more than a ritual it carries immense Tremendous power.
Let's not ever discount the importance of this act of Dedication if you were never dedicated in that way as a child You maybe have a bit of a history to get rid of Can't dedicate yourself. It's a bit late for your parents to dedicate you now But you probably faced a lot of things that you could have avoided If your folks had known what what I've shared with you now Okay Those of you who are yet to have babies Remember this Remember this influence of parents is very powerful we read Concerning Timothy Paul's spiritual son. He writes Timmy says I thank the Lord for the faith That was in both your mother and your grandmother That faith is now in you as well that said Timothy on a place we Paul could take him and Mold him and immediately release him to rise up And be a mighty man of God It's very important.
Okay So we're going to do that today we're going to We're going to hold this little one up to the Lord, okay, and We're going to require something from the period God is going to require something from you. He's going to require you to make a commitment and a promise That you are giving this child to him That you will do your utmost Or whatever is in your power To cover and protect this child and to bring her up in the knowledge of the Lord and Every opportunity that God should bring For her to rise up and be used by him. Okay She is your second born and The second born always carries the greatest hope As you didn't know that Remember when Jacob came to bless Joseph's sons Manasseh and Ephraim It was the tradition that the father The grandfather in this case would lay his hand on the child Bless first the firstborn and so Joseph brought Ephraim and Manasseh To Jacob And he brought the firstborn Which was Manasseh on the right-hand side So that he could lay his right hand on him because I don't know why it's just unfair because I'm left-handed But the right hand always seems to have the power But if I pray for you my power is my left hand so don't get confused, okay And so the idea was that he would lay his right hand on the firstborn and then just bless the second one as a passing thing Well old Jacob he was half blind already But in the spirit he knew and As he reached out to the children he did this Joseph grabbed his dad's hands it no dad That's Manasseh I was there I know I know But why did Jacob do that As many years ago When Jacob and Esau was still in the womb God gave a word to the mother and said The younger shall serve the elder and I will make my covenant with the secondborn I Don't know why but God seems to be doing that ever since Well, it doesn't mean he can't use you if you're not the second born I'm the second born I praise the Lord for that my brothers They were so ahead of me an opportunity my elder brother.
He was so zealous for the Lord Both my younger and my other brothers went to Bible school and schmo stayed at home. I Remember the day my other brother and I went to go see our old lady Who happened to be a prophet? We didn't know much about it those days, but we heard she got visions and things We hope maybe she'd get a revelation for us Well little me I was the insecure little kid brother. I didn't expect much, but I hope oh My heart cried to be used by the Lord and so we sat there and we chatted with her and it was time to go And she said let's have a time of prayer.
This was the moment she prayed As you prayed for both of us and then suddenly she got up and she came and she laid her hands on me and she said Lord I Asked you to set this Brother apart and seal him for the work to go What My brother's not happy I Was flabbergasted Wow, I was in cloud nine I Think it's the only clear prophetic word. I ever got Later on I went to all the big prophets Under their meetings hoping one of having a call before and say yes, God has called you No, they called everybody all around me You've been there and also you don't need a prophet to tell you I've told you God For some reason seems to bless the second ball More than the first ball. Okay.
I Can't give you a scriptural proof just evidence That in most cases has been and through my experience in years of ministry I found that usually the second born has the greatest core. I know from personal experience with my own children At the second born will face the greater attack from Satan the greater temptation to sin and to be drawn away Because Satan knows that that child is his race I Remember sharing with my kids The three of them they were just being unruly and I said Lord do something and the Lord said The two youngest ones have never asked me to be their Savior. Why don't you ask him if they want to receive me? I'm a pretty obvious don't you think and how many parents are doing this? Hmm.
You should be leading your children to the Lord. I So grew up in the Lord, I can't even remember when I got saved I just accepted the Lord because I was taught that way They both said yes They played the sinner's prayer And I laid hands on them and prayed and the second born the Lord gave they came the anointing I have called her and I will use her Well, she was the biggest trouble After the stream man, she went wild she went crazy. Oh Lord Eventually, I had to use some of my prophetic authority to block her and to break relationships that she got into Man, oh man So just because God's called the child that means automatic.
Just remember that. Okay, that's why you as a parent must cover that child and protect them Make sure that Satan doesn't attack Okay, so, you know As I've shared this perhaps you've been able to identify with it a few of these things yourself But the past is the past And even though you may have comes from any of these things you stand in a place now as an adult where you've made a choice for the Lord the only thing you can and should do is to renounce all family generation curses and just as Your parents should have given you up to the Lord You need to come to a time where you give your parents up to the Lord as Well, so if you've never done that it's time to do that Because that link must be broken becomes so much easier when the mother or father do that at Dedication but a lot of the time they don't okay, so I'm gonna ask you to Forward And Ask my wife to come and join me Okay, I want you to face that way so that the camera can see you Okay You're the star today You're the star. Yes She's quiet today the other day she was so talkative she was talking to death me Thank you, Jesus Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus Okay He to the ball is in your court now first, okay You must hold her up to the Lord Give her to him and promise the Lord that you will do your best To help her rise up and fulfill that call that he's already placed on her life Can you can you just pray that for you by yourself Hey Thank you, Jesus Thank you, Jesus Thank you Lord Thank you Lord I got a mustache Cover knees Amen And then Lord Jesus we bring this little angel to you now We lay our hands upon her in your place and as you bless the children way back there. Oh Sir, but not today. I speak your blessing upon her.
Thank you for your anointing that I sense even now Who tamarots? I got I? Lord may your spirit Become real to her right now Even at the young age that she is may she become aware of your presence You know, I thank you Jesus We set her apart for you According to your divine purpose and your call on her life In the name of Jesus I speak protection over her from every harm and evil that the enemy may try to bring I Block every work of darkness I brought every bad Relationship that the enemy may try to create I block every bad Romantic relationship that the enemy might try to create and we set a shield around her a shield of lights To cover her and to protect her Lord Until she's ready to stand up and move your power Thank you Jesus We pray for each your Lord in the name of Jesus and I'm asking for a special anointing on her right now Lord it takes more than natural skill To carry out this responsibility And you know her circumstances are not normal right now And I'm asking you to take care of that too in the name of Jesus Kabbalah sir, ahanda. I Asked for a special anointing upon her a special wisdom Lord. I Ask you to open her eyes of revelation That she may see into the spirit and know when the enemy is trying to do something That she will rise up with a sword in her hand to defend and to protect That's in every smile.
Yes Thank you, Jesus Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for this precious Vessel that you have called and chosen May she bring many to you May she set the captives free and preach your word with boldness and confidence as she grows up We ask it in Jesus name Here we go, it wasn't so bad Congratulations Hallelujah, thank you Lord Thank you Lord father we thank you for your presence here today and speak your blessing on each one that's here May you grant the heart's desire Lord as we have a little time of fellowship now. We thank you that you will continue with us
