Well all birds of a particular species make the same kind of nests. And each animal that has what appears to be a creative intelligence, has actually had this locked into them by an internal force that we call instinct.

God built this into them to cause each particular species to create in a specific way for their particular lifestyle.

But the ability to originate, to create something out of nothing that was never there before, and therefore the ability to put a copyright on something, comes only from a spirit.

Since man is the only creature that has a spirit, man alone has the ability to originate and create something brand new.

Two Ways to Release Power

The creative power that is in man's spirit can only be released from within in two different ways.

The first way is through action. Whatever is in my spirit is demonstrated by what I do in my body; by the actions that I carry out. The second way is through words that are spoken.

If I stand here not moving and not speaking you cannot tell what is in my spirit - not from the outside. Spiritually you could discern it, yes, but that is something else.

But when I move, my actions indicate what is in my heart. When I speak, my words indicate what is in my heart. So, the only two ways that the creative power in man can be released, is through words and actions.

So, if you are an inventor and you have invented something new, you begin to put that creation into motion through words and through action. The chances are you will give instructions, or you will write down instructions, and then you will put them into action.

Before you can even start though, you will need a blueprint. You will need a picture in your mind of what you plan to make.

You will need a 'template' on which to base your creation. Then any future copies that are made will be made according to that same template. That is your blueprint and your copyright.

Man's Power is Limited

All of this is limited in man where the planets, the earth and the sea are concerned. We cannot stop the earth's rotation, change the seasons or change the tides.

We cannot alter the rotation of the earth around the sun or the stars or the moon or any of those. But God can.

When Joshua stood in Joshua 10:12 and 13 he spoke to the sun and said: You will not go down until the battle is won.

The Scripture says: That day God heeded the word of a man.

It has never happened again since. When Joshua spoke he tapped into the power of Almighty God.

He drew upon the power of God, and God combined that power to actually cause the earth to stop in its orbit, in order that they could have a longer day and win the battle.

Man does not have the authority to command what God has put under His control, but he does have the authority for the running of the earth. He has authority to control what takes place in his day-to-day life.

We have authority and ability to control what happens in our lives - which way we go, what we do, the decisions that we make. God does not interfere in that.

We have a free will and free choice, and we can create whatever we wish. We do not have to necessarily consult God and say, "Is it all right if I write a book? Is it all right if I make this, or if I create that? Is it okay if I paint a picture?"

Words are Powerful

That comes out of our spirits, and we can use whatever is in the earth to make whatever we wish. It is under our control. But most of the time what man does is he taps into the creative power of his spirit.

He uses his mind, and he uses his body to physically do and create what he can in the world. But man has lost knowledge of the fact that he also has the power to create with his words.

It is a spiritual law, and it still works, even though you might not believe it; even though you might not understand it or nobody has been taught it.

The old saying, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me," is nonsense.

Words are amongst the most destructive force in the world today. There is power in words, because words release into the earth what is in the spirit of man.

Man Has Control in the Earth

Man is totally unique amongst the creation. He firstly has a body that is made from the elements of the earth. He has a spirit that is similar in nature to God, and he has a soul that mediates between the two.

Man can make contact with God's realm, through his spirit, and he can make contact with the physical realm, through his body.

When you leave your body you lose the control that you have in the world.

You might still have a spirit, but when you die and you leave your body you have no further control in this earth. The souls and the spirits of the dead do not have access to the earth. They have no control over it.

You need to realize that the spirits of darkness, the demon forces of Satan also do not have any control in the earth, because they are spirits.

And so we see another spiritual law. Only a spirit, living in a body that is made from the earth has any power or authority of control in the earth.

Adam knew how to use the power of his spirit using words. That is the way God had made him. When God put Adam in the Garden to keep it, he knew the power of words.

I really do not believe that Adam walked around keeping the garden in trim with a lawn mower and hedge clippers. I really don't think that he went to that amount of effort.

No, I believe he knew his authority and he could speak, even as Jesus spoke to the fig tree and said, "You die now."

And it shriveled up from the roots. Adam knew and had that authority to use words.

Satan Wanted Control

Adam was the god of this world. He was in control and had the power to control whatever happened in this world.

But then somebody who was jealous of them arrived. Satan wanted to control the earth, but he did not have a body that was made from the elements of the earth. He could not do a thing.

There was only one way he could control the earth, and that was to somehow gain control of a person who was living in a physical body. And the only way he could do that was to get Adam to submit to him and give him the power that was in man.

When Adam sinned and fell, he handed control of his life over to Satan. The Scripture says: No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man.

Temptation is the work of Satan, but he can only use what is common to man. He has no other power in the earth because the power in the earth is given only to a spirit living in a physical body.

Only man has that capability, therefore only man can determine what actually takes place in the earth.

So Satan uses that power in man. He teaches people how to tap their inner power, and he assists them by adding the power of demons.

The demons come to dwell within the person's body, adding their power to the human spirit. They then cause that power to be released into the earth using the principle that God gave - a spirit releasing power into the earth through words and action.

That is why Satan wants to take control of people's lives. It is why he caused man to sin in the first place. This is what causes the occult phenomena and is what the New Age movement is based on.

It is based on training man how to use the power in his spirit, and through the help of demon spirits to release that power into the earth. All Satan is using is what God built into man in the first place.

You say, "Well I don't want to be involved in any of this nonsense. It sounds too much like New Age to me."

Well the New Age came in ahead of you. That is the trouble. You are too quick to throw out something that God built into man.

He made man to function that way, but you are throwing it away because the Devil was clever enough to get to it first. We should realize that as born again believers, we have access to something far greater than any demon power.

Jesus Restores Authority

We have access to the Creator Himself. God's Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside our human spirit when we are born again.

In Christ the authority that Adam had is restored, because Jesus was the last Adam and He bought back what Adam had given to Satan. He overcame and destroyed the powers of darkness, and snatched the keys of death and hell from the enemy.

In Christ we are restored back, not only into the authority that Adam had, but now we have access to the Holy Spirit. Born again man has far greater power than what Adam had.

Jesus came to show us what we should be. If you want to see the power that should be exerted in your spirit, just look at Jesus and see what He accomplished in the earth.

How did He do it? Jesus said: Greater works than these shall you do because I go to my Father who is in Heaven.

I want to ask you a few questions. Can you do what Jesus did when He walked the earth? Can you cause a fig tree to die by speaking to it?

Can you cause the weather to change by speaking to it? Can you cause sickness and disease to flee when you speak to it? Can you turn water into wine?

You are probably shaking your head and saying, "No I can't."

Well you are wrong. You can if you are a child of God. You can if you are born again by the Spirit of God. You can if you have the Holy Spirit living in you, if you are in Christ, and Christ is in you. You can do this.

Jesus tried to get that message across to His disciples. And after He had taught them all of that they climbed into the boat and went across the lake. He went to lie down and sleep and a storm came up.

The waves began to beat on the boat, and the poor disciples cried, "We're going to drown. We're going to drown."

They were really speaking and creating weren't they? They came and cried and said, "Lord, don't you care that we're dying?"

The Scripture says He rebuked them saying in effect, "Have you not learned anything the whole time I've been with you? Haven't you seen how I do it? Come on, let me show you. Peace be still."

Instant silence followed. "Now, can I go back and sleep, please?"

It is as simple as that. Jesus said: The works that I do shall you do, and greater works than these shall you do.

When Jesus gave the great commission in Mark 16:15-18 He said: And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believes and is baptized will be saved; but he that does not believe will be condemned.

And these signs will follow those that believe; In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

They will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

He said, "You're going to do everything I did, and these signs shall follow those who believe."

Perhaps there is a key word there, and it is something we are missing. Perhaps it all rests in that word 'believe'.
