Lecture 1

Does not save natively

We're going to read a little passage from the book of Psalms, chapter 1, reading from verse 1. Psalms 1. Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season.

His leaf also will not wither, and whatever he does will prosper. Title of my message today is The Laws of Financial Prosperity. The Laws of Financial Prosperity.

It's our second teaching in a newer series which I started a couple of weeks back. It will continue to become a whole series all under the category of The Mantle of Prosperity, which I started to teach on. And so what I'm going to teach today will build on that previous message.

If you didn't watch that previous message, I suggest that you go and watch or listen to it after this. We're looking at laws. And when you look at the term law, we realize that there are different kinds of law.

There are laws of command and prohibition. And that's usually when we think of the law. Thou shalt and thou shalt not.

But there's another kind of law which I would call the law of function and operation. It's more a principle of the way things work, like the law of gravity. And so I would like to look at that kind of law today.

And when we're speaking about the laws of financial prosperity, I'd like to present to you some principles based on the word of God, that which, when applied correctly, will lead to financial prosperity. Now, the whole world operates by laws. And we have natural laws.

Firstly, and then we have spiritual laws also. Now, unbelievers tend to function mostly in the natural laws. We as believers have so much more available to us.

We have some extra laws that we can use, which are the laws of the spirit, which gives us an advantage over them. And we tend to often envy unbelievers who are prospering and they're doing so well. Even the psalmist cried out to the Lord and said, Lord, it's not fair.

Why are you blessing the bad guy? And I think we've all been there. People out there are not serving the law. They're serving the devil and they're prospering.

And we are not. But you know, unbelievers only have limited resources. And we as believers actually have far more available to us than them.

Why then is it that unbelievers are prospering and God's people are not? Perhaps we're ignorant of God's laws that he's given us. Perhaps we don't know how to apply those laws and make them work in our lives. When God first called out his chosen people, the nation of Israel, he promised them a land that flows with milk and honey.

He promised them everything, every kind of blessing, especially in the natural. God wants us to prosper in the natural. And if you're going to preach against that, you're flogging a dead horse.

You're wasting your time because the word of God is so clear that God intends us to prosper, specifically in the financial realm. So why then are we struggling along to get our needs met? I think it's time to change this, don't you? Here's the bad news. Nothing is automatic.

It's going to take an effort to change things. There's no such thing as the automatic millionaire. Now, some people out there might disagree with me.

There's even books by that title, automatic millionaire. It's a popular teaching out there in the world. And effectively, it means that if you manage your finances correctly and save well, you'll become a millionaire automatically.

Effectively, it means you'll end up with a whole lot of money available after you've lived a life without all the things you really want. You know, I don't find that anywhere in the world. I don't find that God ever told us to be stingy and to hold back and to skimp and scrape.

I'm going to save all my money and then one day when I'm old, I will have money to retire. Well, yeah, I'm old, but I don't feel old. I thank the Lord I never spent my younger years not enjoying some of the blessings that God had for me.

You can spend your whole life struggling along, doing without, so one day when you're old and you're too old to do anything with it, now you're going to have the money. That's the automatic millionaire. And then God wants you to be prosperous now.

He wants you to enjoy now. He wants you to see that thing that you desire and get it now, not in 10 years time. God's way is not, let's take the little we have and manage it well and skimp and scrape and save until we have enough money to buy what we want.

Now, that's one way of getting money in the bank. There's a better way and that's to increase the size of your income. Which one would you rather have? Stupid question.

Well, you know, I can't increase my income. You see, that's why you're poor. Because that's the mentality and the thinking that most people have got in their minds.

Now, it's a good practice to save. But saving needs to take place in times of prosperity, not while you're lacking. Joseph made Pharaoh wealthy in Egypt.

They got rich that way. But they saved during prosperity so that when poverty and lack came, there was enough to go around. And that's another subject altogether.

And we'll be looking at that separately in a different teaching altogether. So I'm not throwing it away. But right now, I want us to look at the more important thing.

And that is, how can we do something to improve our current financial situation? Well, the key lies in knowing the laws of prosperity. Would you like to know what they are? Should I just leave you there? You're foolish, wouldn't it? Let's look at some of the laws that are already in motion. We have, firstly, the natural laws.

Now, God made them. And they've been there from the beginning. But a few intelligent people studied these.

And one of them was a guy by the name of Isaac Newton. And he put together three laws, which became known as Newton's laws of motion. Now, Newton didn't create these laws.

He discovered them. Okay, let's be clear on that. I'm going to give you Newton's laws.

And you're going to get a science lesson today. You might think I'm giving you heavy stuff because you don't like science. But you'll see why I'm sharing them shortly.

This is Newton's first law of motion. Every object persists in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that by forces that are impressed on it. In other words, this object is going to stay right there until some force makes it move.

See? And if an object is moving through the air like a ball flying, it's going to carry on in a straight line, unless some other force knocks it off and makes it go in a different direction. And you understand Newton's first law of motion. Newton's second law of motion is a bit more complex.

I was going to leave it out, but I'm going to try and tie it into what we're teaching. Very mathematical. They said force is equal to the change in momentum per change in time.

Or a constant mass. Force equals mass times acceleration. Now the thing I want you to remember there is the acceleration.

The key to a force having its power is acceleration, okay? And that's the part I'm going to emphasize when we take it further. Newton's third law of motion. You probably know this one already.

It says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. And now Newton's first law of motion is a principle we call inertia. The force it takes to move something from being stationary.

You know, you try and push a car, it's pretty heavy, but once it gets moving it becomes easier, okay? It's a principle of inertia. Sometimes it's also called resistance to change. And now we're talking about something more psychological.

It's also known as the power of habit. It's very difficult to break that habit. It's getting into a rut and it's difficult to get out of the rut.

It's being in a comfort zone and it's difficult to move out of your comfort zone. It's going to take a force to make that happen. Those are all natural laws, okay? Those are Newton's laws of motion.

Next we have Liz Krauss's laws of spiritual blessing. Did I create these? No, like Newton, I discovered them, okay? I discovered them and I mentioned them in quite a lot of detail in a series known as the way of blessing, which few people have taken the effort to go and study because if they had they would be prospering already. It's a very detailed study on how to live a life of total blessing in all realms.

And the principles are laid out step by step and in a lot of detail, which is probably why nobody bothers. There's just too many principles and too much reading. So I'm going to give you one little piece from the new way of blessing today.

And that's the four spiritual laws that I laid out. These are the four laws. Number one, the spiritual realm is greater.

Than the physical realm. God created the physical world from the realm of the spirit. And changes in the physical realm come about when spiritual power is brought to act upon the physical realm.

Kind of links with Newton, doesn't it? But we're looking at it spiritually now. Law number two, the power to bring about a change in the physical realm. Is released through speaking words.

That power that brings change is released through speaking words. That's because words actually contain spiritual power. Our words are far more powerful than we realize.

Now the power that is released through our words is determined by the forces that we release as we speak those words. The forces that we release from our spirit when we speak words. That is what is going to make things happen in this physical realm.

Number three, there has to be a blueprint to create something. There's got to be a picture in the mind of what it's going to look like when it's made. If you're going to sit down and create something, you don't just go about it in a haphazard way and it accidentally comes out.

You know, sometimes we do that as a cop out as Aaron did. When Moses came and said, Aaron, what are you doing? What did you do here? And Aaron had made this golden calf for them to worship. Well, we know how Aaron did it.

He took all the gold, melted it, and then he sculpted it with instruments. He doesn't know what he told Moses. He said, oh no, no, I just took the gold and I threw it in the fire and this is what came out.

Oh, come off it. Moses wasn't that stupid. You know, and sometimes we make the same cop out, you know.

This is just what happened. Now, the only way, the only thing you create with that is a lump of ugly mud. You know, like a child pushes the mud together and says, see, mom, that's a picture of you.

They had good intentions. See, there's got to be a clear picture. What's it going to look like when it's made? If you don't know what it's going to look like, where are you going to start and how are you going to do it? You've got to be specific.

So if you're going to bring a force to bring change in the physical realm, what kind of change are you expecting? It must be very specific, not vague or haphazard. And then law number four is this. The creator, the person who creates something, has the power to control the creation that they made.

It belongs to them. We have a term that we use in this world for that. It's called copyright.

I created it. I hold the copyright. Whatever you create is yours.

It belongs to you to use and for you to use in any way that you choose. OK, so we have Newton's three laws of motion. We have Les Krauss's three laws of the spirit.

Let's try and bring these together now. How do these laws affect our finances? Hey, this is the big question we're wanting to answer today. How do they affect our finances? Well, let's look at the natural effects first.

We can look at it this way. You will remain in a state of lack unless some action is taken to change it. Your current activities and circumstances will not change unless some force is applied to them to bring about a change.

Well, I'm just praying and waiting and hoping. You know, some people use that expression, I'm waiting for my ship to come in. How do you know where that expression comes from? Maybe you never used it.

English I grew up is a common expression. I'm waiting for my ship to come in. In fact, what the person is saying is I'm hoping that I just come into some money one day and when it does, then I'll be able to afford it and buy this.

And you know, whenever somebody tells me that, I say to them, when did you send out the ship? I'm waiting for my ship to come in. Well, if you didn't send one out, how is it going to come in? You know, Solomon got wealthy by sending out the ships of Tarshish. They'd go away and come back loaded, loaded down with treasures and peacocks for some reason.

Yes, it was valuable in those days. Now, you cannot change your financial circumstances without applying a pressure. But the pressure that you apply must be a steadily increasing effort.

See, this is where the acceleration comes in, must be a steadily increasing effort. And here's the one we've all found out. Any attempt to change your financial circumstances is met by immediate opposition.

If you think you're going to accumulate money by saving, something's going to break. Somebody's going to demand that money of you. The taxes will want something.

Somebody will force you to give that money away. For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. When your action is, I'm going to improve my finances, I'll tell you what, immediately an opposite reaction comes and says, oh no, you don't.

See, that's why a single action is not enough. The action has to be maintained. Not only that, it must steadily increase.

In fact, it must become a way of life. Oh, it's not going to work. See, that's the natural effects.

Let's look at the spiritual effects. Okay, it takes spiritual power to change your financial circumstances. That spiritual power must be released through speaking words.

It must be directed at the condition of lack. You must have a clear financial goal to begin with. Otherwise, how will you know when you've reached it? Unfortunately, sometimes when we reach the goal, we stop the effort.

Then we wonder why it quickly disappears again. We've got to maintain and we've got to accelerate. Again, lastly, you have a right to enjoy the results.

You don't have to feel guilty about it. You don't have to worry about all those poor starving people out there while I'm wealthy. Isn't it amazing how people are so quick to condemn somebody who prospers and says, wasting all that money when there's people out there starving.

You know, they even said that to the poor woman who came and poured her gift over Jesus and broke that expensive perfume and poured it on his feet. Oh, that money could have been used for the poor. Jesus said, you'll always have the poor with you.

Me, you won't always have. She did a good thing. Don't condemn her.

Okay, let's see how we usually experience these things. These are the most common experiences they have. Most of us suffer from financial inertia.

We wait for finances to change. Thing just sits there, just won't move. And we wait and we pray and we beg and we plead and we hint and we nag.

It's not going to happen. Now, most of us, we find it hard to change our financial habits. What are some of those financial habits? Firstly, we tend to become complacent when our needs are met.

You know, the children of Israel, they got their manor every day. They didn't have to work for it. They didn't have to make any extra effort.

They got exactly what they needed every day. Their needs were met. I guess if manor tasted really great, they would have been happy.

And they would have become complacent and said, you know, why should we go to all the effort of going into the promised land? We've got to fight and work hard to get what we need. But our bread is just provided every day. Why don't we just carry on living this way? You know, how many people have never entered their promised land because they've become content? Well, you know, I'd like to have a lot of money, but we get enough interest to meet our basic needs.

We got enough money to eat and to live fairly comfortably. And, you know, as long as it continues that way, as long as I have a job and an income, why should I go and make all that extra effort? I'd rather just chill out and have fun and watch TV. I don't feel like making the effort.

I'm content. We become complacent. We also become complacent by the fact that we have a regular guaranteed income.

And, yes, we'd like to get an increase. Maybe you get an annual increase in your job or whatever. But, you know, we're making it through.

And we believe in God for more finance. And we're praying and awaiting and hoping. But, you know, things aren't too bad right now.

Okay. So now, finally, you come to the place, you say, no, no, I'm going to change this. I'm going to change this.

I'm tired of living like this. I'm going to do something about it. Here's your first experience.

Immediate opposition. Where's that opposition coming from? Well, firstly, it comes from people. You're going to do what? You're going to go and study and qualify, become an accountant or something? Are you mad? You're going to take on a second job? What are you going to do? Or, look, you know you're not qualified to do anything better than what you do.

You're wasting your time and money, even wanting to do it. Amazing how people offer advice you never asked for. Especially when it's advice that's no use to you.

But people are quite willing to help you fail. So that they have an excuse for their own failure. They don't want you to rise up.

Otherwise, it makes them look bad. And then our opposition comes from the demonic realm because Satan does not want you to be blessed. He doesn't want you to prosper.

So you can be sure that the moment you make up your mind to change your financial status, you are going to get a demonic attack. In the spirit, almost immediately. In fact, I would say that the desire for financial prosperity is probably the thing that Satan fears the most in believers.

Because he knows that if they succeed and they have the finance, they are going to destroy his realm very quickly. Because they are going to have in their hands something that they can use to extend the kingdom of God in this world. Plus, they're going to walk in blessing.

It reminds him of when he came down and saw Adam having this glorious time in the Garden of Eden. He doesn't like it. The moment you choose to prosper financially, count on it.

You are going to come under attack almost immediately. Like the seed that was sown on the ground that was hard, the birds came and took it away immediately. Satan will come and take that idea out of you and say, what a stupid idea.

He'll do his best. And then the third source of opposition comes from your very own heart. In principle, the Bible calls the flesh the selfish, sinful part of us.

It doesn't want to experience what God has. And then the third experience that we often have is we fail to accelerate. We start out with a big bang.

Baba, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And maybe last a couple of days. And then it's not fun anymore. It becomes work now.

You know, it takes effort now. It's something you've got to apply yourself to now. You don't maintain the same efforts.

You start out great, but then it just peters out. I think all of us have experienced that one sometime or another. And then as believers, this is the biggest mistake that Christians make.

They leave out the supernatural. They see only the natural sources. Well, you know, if I'm going to make money, there's a possible source of money.

Well, you know, maybe my rich relative that's nearing the end of their life, maybe they'll die and leave me something in their world. Maybe somebody will have a dream from the Lord where he tells them to give me money. Maybe somebody will win a car and give it to me.

Where is it going to come from? We always look to the natural for the source of our financial provision. Of course, that's where it's coming from, isn't it? It's coming from this world. So we start to look which source.

Maybe I'll get a tax return. Maybe my boss will give me a sudden increase in pay because he likes me so much. You know, that's another subject altogether.

We'll look at that when we get to it. See, when you try to do things with your own effort, you're going to fail. And in the end, if you're thinking that hard work is going to produce this, and that's the mistake that the strong drivers make because they're work oriented.

I will do it. I will push. I will work extra hours.

I will make the effort to produce this finance. But you leave the Lord out. You put all your time into your work.

And you say, as soon as I get time, I'll give the Lord some of my time. Do the same with our money. As soon as I get money, I'll give the Lord some of my money.

And then the biggest failure we make of all is we forget to speak the right words. Our language becomes filled with failure. I don't know what we're going to do.

I don't know how I'm going to pay that bill. That's due next month. There's no sign of income or money on the horizon.

My bills are taking up all of my income. How am I going to pay that bill when it comes? Oh, what am I going to do? And our words are filled with negativity and fear and worry. And we express what's in our heart.

But you know what? You're always going to express what's in your heart. When you start saying that, you're telling everybody what's in your heart. Well, what's in your heart is not the word of God.

What's in your heart is not the promises of God. What's in your heart is not the revelation of the spirit of God. Your heart is filled with what you've picked up in the world round about you, see.

So you're going to have to make an effort to speak the right words. Because it's not going to come naturally. But here's a strange principle with words.

The more often you speak words, the easier it becomes. Because you find as you repeat these words over and over again, they begin to sink deep down into you. And they begin to find a resting place in your heart.

And eventually, those words that you've been speaking, that you've been feeding in, they start coming out again. Often when you least expect them. They come out in your dreams.

They come out in your conversation. That's when the power is released. That's a whole big subject, which I've talked in a lot of detail, in the Way of Blessing.

And if you want to skip ahead on everything I'm teaching here, go and get the Way of Blessing. It's got three volumes. It's very detailed.

The first one already is going to give you a lot of the principles that you need. So let's try and bring this all together. And see if we can formulate some laws for financial prosperity.

Okay. Law number one. Wealth is never automatic.

You will remain in a state of lack or not having enough unless you do something about it. I think we know that one. Law number two.

Financial prosperity. Wealth is produced by effort. I think we all know that one too.

The scripture says, if any man will not work, now they let him eat. Now do you know that most poor people work really hard? Why don't they become wealthy? If they work hard and it takes work to produce wealth, why is it that hardworking people very often remain poor? What about that? The answer is simple. Work is not enough.

You can be working yourself to the bone and still be poor. Why is that? Because principle three is true wealth can only be produced by spiritual power. And it takes two things.

Actions or work and words added to it. Words and actions must always work together to bring about a release of spiritual power into this physical realm to bring a change in the physical realm. The moment you add words to your work, your work changes.

Somebody said, you must learn to not work hard but work smart. Well, how do you work smart? By tapping into what's inside of you. And you know how that's released? Through words.

In the midst of your words, revelation will kick out. An idea will come to you that you hadn't thought of before. Have you ever sat down with somebody and began to share with them some of your plans and what you're hoping to do? And while you're speaking to them, you suddenly come up with an idea.

You think, you know what, I think I'll try that. Now that I think about it, I actually haven't done that. Where did that idea come from? Came while you were speaking.

It come up out of your spirit. Now, whatever your spiritual source is, may not be strong enough. You may be applying a force.

See, I'm going to move that object. I'm pushing as hard as I can. You know, at times like that, I call my son.

He's strong. John, come and move this for me, will you please? How strong is your spiritual power? You know, I'm pushing as hard as I can. I'm praying as hard as I can.

I'm believing as hard as I can. But it's not moving. You've got to increase the spiritual power.

Even unbelievers eventually come to the place where they realize if they're going to bring change, drastic change, they're going to need more than natural principles. And so they start looking for a spiritual source to enhance that power. 99 times out of 100, the last thing they think of looking for is God.

Have you noticed that all the so-called success philosophies of this world get into Eastern religion? All of them. They're all teaching you how to meditate and to apply all the laws of karma and yoga and how to develop the cheese. They all know it because they know that they need a spiritual power.

But they want to acknowledge the spiritual power, the greatest spiritual power of all. You see, that is why and why you as a believer have more than them. Don't ever be guilty of getting caught in what they're doing.

Well, you know, I just do yoga for fun because it's good exercise. Be careful. I tried that once and found my spiritual life began to suffer.

I was just doing exercises to get fit. You don't know what you're mixing with. You don't know what you're getting into.

But you're open in your heart too. So yeah, demons can enhance that power. But the true power actually lies in the human spirit.

That's what the true power is. Well, if demons can enhance it, how much more can the Holy Spirit enhance that power? And he does it in two ways. He does it first by dwelling inside of us.

And releasing an anointing that comes from deep within us, which we call the internal anointing. Those of you that are on my school of the supernatural, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about here because we studied this in some detail. You have the internal anointing coming from within your spirits.

And then the Holy Spirit can come upon you externally from without. And we call that the external anointing. And actually, that is the more powerful anointing.

The one that most believers don't know how to use or to obtain. Used to relying only on the internal anointing. But you need both if you're going to see something powerful and miraculous take place in your income.

You know, I'm believing for a 10% increase in my income. You got enough faith for that? Okay. How about if I were to say to you, would you like to double your income within the next six months? I know you're going to smile and you say, you know, if you think my boss is going to double my income, then you don't know my boss.

He just saw the wrong source. He just saw the wrong source for your income, didn't you? You saw a human person or a natural source as the source of your income. And while you think that way, you'll remain exactly where you are.

Until your boss decides to get generous, and he may be one of those who'd like to keep you on the same income for the next 10 years. And if you're happy to continue, that's what you're going to get. But when you bring the power of God to bear, the miraculous power of God, it's the power that heals the sick.

It's the power that turns water into wine. It's a power that stops the seed and the storm. It's a power that causes a limb to grow that didn't exist.

You think he could grow your bank account? You think he could grow your income? He is God. He can do all of these things. But if you've never bothered to learn how to tap into and receive his power, you'll never experience that or know it in any area of your life.

So you must increase the spiritual power, and then you must release it. Okay. Well, let's locate the source of the spiritual power.

It lies deep down inside of you. And it actually has several parts to it. There are, in fact, three different forces that operate in that power.

Again, if you read the Way of Blessing, I've given detailed study on these three forces. On what they are, and how to develop them, and how to use them. Locate its source.

And then once you've located that source, start tapping into that source. It's a lot deeper than your mind. They don't just try and figure it out in your mind.

It comes deep down, your spirit deep within you. And it comes from the spirit of God. On the outside.

As these combine together, as the external power of God comes upon you, he fills you up from within, and it starts to bubble and gush up inside of you. And the power is highly increased. Once you increase that power now, you can release it to bring the results you're looking for.

How do you do that? Two simple ways. Actions combined with words. Actions combined with words.

You do it by making a commitment. You follow through. Sometimes it helps to tell other people what you're planning to do.

Because when you fail, they'll remind you. I thought you said you were going to. Well, you know, I'm going to lose 10 kgs.

I'm going on a diet. Next time you meet your friends, what are they going to say to you? Say, how's the diet going? How many kgs you lost so far? Well, to tell you the truth, the diet only lasted two days. No, you don't need to know that.

Well, I'm working my way there. I'm getting there. I'm getting there.

Make a commitment to follow through. Enlist somebody to stand with you in agreement and to nag you and remind you that you keep doing it. Then steadily increase the release of the power.

How do we do that? More words. More actions. More words, more actions.

Put extra time in. Put extra effort in. Once you reach a stage, don't stop.

Go to the next stage. Sometimes we set our goals too small. Well, you know, I'll be happy with a, you know, just a 250 rand increase in my pay.

So you're going to make enough effort to get that, then you stop. You know, we get money from both South Africa and outside countries, especially from America, the mighty dollar and its power. And so sometimes when I, when I'm believing God for finance, a figure comes to my mind.

And you know, it's one thing to say I'm believing for a thousand rand. It's not too difficult to say I'm believing for a thousand dollars. We're talking 15,000.

Takes a little bit more, eh? We set our goal too small. And when we reach that goal, we stop. Always set yourself a goal that's beyond what you've reached.

So that you keep reaching. And if you don't reach, you make extra effort, then you accelerate, and you keep going until you reach it. And then once you reach it, make a bigger goal.

I've applied these principles, based largely on the way of blessing. We applied it for many years living in Mexico, entirely dependent on income that we received from people. And I got to the place where I could say, we believe in God for $500, a lot of money.

And you know, over time, as we continued, $500 would come in. Somebody else would give us $500. Eventually $500 wasn't such a big figure.

So I raised it. We believe in God for $1,500 now. Wow, that's a lot of money.

It kept getting bigger. And you know what? God began to provide. Because our faith grew.

As we keep working, we didn't stop. We kept working towards it. See, make a commitment and follow it through.

It was coming back to South Africa, we started at the bottom all over again. Nobody's got money here. Boy, for me to get $100 out of somebody is going to take a miracle.

So I'm going to need a lot more faith. Thank the Lord we still get money from America. And around the world, because you know what? We're ministering to people.

But you see, people are not our source. The Lord is our source. You must see the Lord as the provider of your need, not people, not organizations, not employers.

You do that, your faith will die. Make a commitment to follow through and steadily increase your words and your actions on a regular basis. That's all to do with releasing spiritual power.

Point number six, spiritual power must be maintained. And by this, I mean, it's not given intentionally. It's given in shots.

Think of it not as a gun that fires bullets, but a laser that fires a constant beam. Spiritual power is more like a laser than a bunch of bullets that we shoot. Okay, so you fire your laser, you keep it on, and then you increase its intensity.

Why? Because your needs will always increase. You're not going to need less next year than what you needed this year. That's a fact of life.

And I dare say, as soon as you start to receive some of the things you've desired, your desires are going to increase. Oh, Lord, I really desire a new car. Oh, Lord.

And finally, you get your new car, secondhand, 10-year-old, reasonable car. You see everybody else driving around in these brand new SUVs and fancy cars. I tell you what, your desire is going to increase.

Oh, Lord, I thank the Lord we got the car, but I want a better one now. We finally got a house, but I want a better one now. Is anything wrong with that? Not at all.

The only thing is, you're going to have to accelerate what you were doing to get the first one. See why you have to accelerate? Why you have to keep going? Because it's a continual thing. Now, if you stop moving forward, you'll go backwards.

I think somebody wrote a book once entitled, Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Backwards. The story of my life, one stage. The moment you stop going forward, you don't stop.

You're on a conveyor belt. You're walking against the escalator. Have you ever tried going the opposite direction on an escalator? Takes a lot of effort.

Escalator is going down, you want to go up. You have to run fast to keep up with it. The moment you stop, you're going down.

That's really what life is like, folks. We're fighting against these things all the time. So, the laws of financial prosperity, wealth is never automatic.

Wealth is produced by effort. True wealth can only be produced by spiritual power. The spiritual source must be increased and the spiritual power must be released.

And the spiritual power must be maintained. If you apply all of these spiritual laws, then you could say, I'm becoming an automatic millionaire. There's nothing automatic about it, was there? But that's what's going to happen.

It will be the natural result. You'll do that. So, where then do you stand right now? You need finances? And all say yes at the same time.

Are you stuck in a rut? Many people are. Have you become complacent? Are you satisfied just to keep going as long as your basic needs are met? What's it going to take to motivate you? Will it take a disaster or a sudden demand? What if the taxman suddenly sends you a bill? And says, I want 5,000 Rand from you by the end of the month. I don't have that kind of money available after we've paid our bills and I don't have that kind of money saved up.

Well, you don't get a choice here, do you? Because they're not going to say, oh, shame, shame, we understand. We want our money, we want it now. What are you going to do? I tell you what you're going to do.

You're going to say, what is that message again that I heard him preach? Let me go and listen to it and see how I can get money in now, right? Sudden demands, sudden unexpected disasters. The car breaks down and they want thousands to fix it. But you can't go to work without your car.

We thank the Lord for taxis, but you know what? It's inconvenient and expensive. Are you waiting for some disaster? Before you will rise up and enter into all that God has for you. Guilty as charged.

I've been there, done that. Because I didn't maintain my commitment. I became complacent.

I managed to raise my income to a level where it's satisfactory. We're having enough. We stop.

We stop applying principles. I preached the principles of the way of blessing 25 years ago. And they work if you work them.

But when things get easy enough, we stop. We're open target for the enemy to attack us and to destroy us. So what will it take to motivate you? A disaster? Or perhaps a word of hope from the Lord? Well, I trust I'm giving you a word of hope from the Lord today.

It's going to motivate you to say, I'm going to do something about this. And set yourself a good target. I want so much extra a month and don't make it small.

I like to think in terms of multiples. I want twice the income I've been getting. I've been getting that for the last 10 years.

What are the chances of a doubling? The chances are very good if I do it God's way. Because he's able to create out of nothing. If I will pay the price.

So that's the next question. Are you prepared? Pay the price. Now, make sure that you are prepared before you take your first action.

Otherwise, your first action is just going to... Don't go off half-cocked. Don't go off after hearing the vision say, hey, I'm going to do it. Yeah, yeah, I'm going to do it.

Bam, let's go do it. Do what? Make more money. How? Think it through.

Listen to this little voice deep inside of you. The Lord's voice in your spirit. Get yourself charged up and ready.

And say, it's going to cost me so many extra hours. Those of you who have followed through study courses. I've had to make that commitment.

Because you're going to have to do so many hours of study before you're going to qualify. And man, sometimes you just want to sit and watch the movie on TV. No, I've got to study.

See, you've got to follow through. You've got to make that commitment. Well, we've got a lot of principles today.

Because today, I'm only presenting you with laws. What are some practical ways of applying these laws in our lives? Where do I start first? Where do I go next? How do I make this work practically in my life? Well, if you don't want to wait for me to teach it, you can go and read The Way of Blessing. And I'm promoting The Way of Blessing today.

Because every single person should be reading it. At times, we've given that book away free to people who are battling financially, knowing that it has the power in it to make them wealthy. You know what they do with it? Use it as a coffee coaster or something.

They don't read it. Well, now that I got the book, I'm going to prosper. How many courses have you bought like that thinking they're going to help you? You didn't make the effort to study them.

So if you want to, if you're really good moving on this, start with the first volume and work your way through the second and the third. By the time you finish the first volume, you're going to already have far more detail in some of the principles I've shared today. And you'll be well on your way to changing your life, not only on finances.

I deal with health, wealth, and relationships. We survived in Mexico having no income, having three families to support. Applying the principles of the way of blessing, because we didn't have any choice.

Children were crying for food. We had to do something. Go for walks on the beach.

We talk and pray. I'd cry out to the Lord. And I'd get into the word.

As he taught me those principles, we applied them and made them work. And for 17 years, we survived in a foreign country where we couldn't speak the language. We were not allowed to gain income from the country.

It had to come from outside. Purely applying those principles. We do work folks.

Not just preaching theory yet. But I will be giving you more detail. I will be covering additional messages in the theme.

This is only our second one in the series. So watch out for them. They'll probably be preached on a Sunday like this.

So you're welcome to attend. I've started to announce my messages ahead of time. So people know, if you're not on our WhatsApp fellowship group, get there.

So you'll get notified. And next time, maybe next week, may not. The Lord may give me a subject from another series next week.

Because I've got several going at the same time. But I will be getting to that subject next. And I'll be giving you some more practical ways of actually applying the laws of financial prosperity.

Changing your financial circumstances. That you can rise up and walk in the blessing of the Lord. And to know the prosperity that he desires for you.

Amen. Father, I thank you for your word. Thank you for your anointing that went out with your word.

And I ask that each one that heard it now, will respond not only to the word that they heard, but to the word that's speaking in their hearts right now. So Holy Spirit, I'm asking you to challenge. To convict.

To convince. Because you want your people to prosper. I ask you to help them dispel all the lies that they've been told.

All the false teaching that they've been given. That it's a blessing to be poor. I pray that as your word has gone forth, it has displaced some of these things.

And encouraged and given you hope. Because that's the way you work, Lord. Always presenting the positive.

And so I pray for each one now. That's watching this or listening to it. And I ask that you open their heart and their understanding.

And I ask that you will bless them. Lift them up. That they can become a model to this world.

That people will be coming to them and saying, how do you do it? I don't understand. You've got less than what I have. But you're doing better than me.

How do you do it? That's the way you want us to be, Lord. Forgive me for also making the mistake of letting some of these powerful principles slip. Of becoming complacent.

I ask that you convict each one who's fallen into this complacency. And shake them out of it now. They can rise up.

Stand boldly in this world as a model and an image of what a child of God should look like. Of what one who is blessed by the Lord should look like. Know, Lord, that this is what you desire for each one of us.

So I thank you for it in Jesus' name.
