Creativity from Your Spirit

The reason you are not wealthy and they are is because they are using what they have got. But you are too lazy to use what you have because you are waiting for God to do it.

You might say to me,

"I am a Christian. I will just pray and the wealth will fall on me."

No I'm afraid it is not going to fall on you. It doesn't happen that way.

God has placed the ability within your human spirit. Even an unbeliever has a human spirit. And within the human Spirit God has placed a creative ability.

Animals don't have that ability, so everything that animals do they do by a built in force called instinct. So animals succeed in this world using that instinct.

But you as a human being don't have instinct. You have an unprogrammed spirit. You have a spirit that has the ability to come up with new things that nobody has ever done before.

The Power of Creativity

Man is the only creature that can originate new things because you have a new power in your spirit. You can get revelation in your spirit. You can have an idea come up from deep within.

As a believer you have even more than that because you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you and you can get revelation from God right from within your spirit.

That revelation and that submitting to the Spirit will produce a force that is the most powerful force in this world. Because it is the force by which God created the very worlds; the force of faith.

The Scripture says that God created the worlds through faith. The Scripture tells us that faith brings the blessing of God into our lives.

All of that is available to you. Where? In your human spirit.

So how many new things have you created in the last while? How many new ideas did you come up with?

You say, "Well I do my job every day. I go to work from 9 to 5 and do the best that I can.

I work hard and trust that my boss will pay me at the end of the month. And if I work hard maybe I will get an increase every now and then and my needs will be provided."

But you go along like a mule that is just harnessed. It has blinkers on and just does the same thing. It just does what it is told. It doesn't take any creativity to be that way.

You say, "I can't understand why I'm not getting wealthy."

The reason is because you are not using what God gave you. You are not using the resources of your spirit to be original, creative and come up with something new.

Use the Creativity You Have

You might say,

"Well I'm not capable of just going out and starting my own business."

Perhaps you are not. But you are capable of being creative in the job that you have. You are capable of coming up with new ways of doing your work, and impressing your boss so much that he promotes you and increases your income.

And what do you know; your finances begin to increase. Have you ever thought about that?

You say, "You know I just do what I need to do."

No, be honest with yourself. You do as little as you need to do so you don't get fired. That is why you are poor, because you are not using the creative power of your spirit.

Using Intellect from Your Soul

God has also given us an ability in our souls.

Our souls are a bit different to our spirits. In our souls we have the mind, emotions and will, but the mind or intellect is the most powerful thing that God has given us.

Because of that ability that God has given us, we are able to study. We are able to research and learn new things. We are able to increase our intellectual capability and increase our knowledge.

But sitting reading books and studying, watching videos and listening to tapes is hard work isn't it? Going to school while a lecturer drones on and on and writing examinations is hard work, and you say,

"I don't feel like doing that."

It's much easier for me to pray and say,

"God, please bless me. Finances, you come."

Then when it doesn't happen you get mad and say,

"God doesn't want to bless me. What is wrong with Him?"

God says, "I have given you an intellectual ability. What are you doing with it? I have given you a good brain and an ability to accumulate knowledge."

What did you learn this week? What did you learn this month? In fact what new things have you learned this year? Come on, be honest.

You say, "I don't really need to learn anything new because I know how to do my job."

Well that is why you are sitting in that same job, earning the same salary. And eventually somebody else who knows a bit more than you is going to come in, and they are going to say,

"I would rather employ this guy than you."

Then they will let you go and put him in your job because he is going to do it a bit better than you.

Do you want to be promoted in your job? They are not going to promote you because you have been faithful for 30 years. They are going to promote you because you are better; because you know more and you are more capable.

How are you going to do that? You are going to have to increase your knowledge. The moment you do that, you now have the capability of producing more.

Do you want abundance? Then increase the abundance of the creative ability of your spirit. Increase the abundance of your mind and the things that you know.

Using Your Body to Work

God has also given you a body. Do you know that we have a body that is so much different to the animals?

You know you have to feel sorry for an animal. We see the dogs and we throw them down a little treat or a bone or something like that. Then they have to get in there and try and attack it with their mouths.

They try and put their paw on the treat to hold it in place while they pulling at it. They really battle to get it. You think to yourself,

"You know if that was me I would just pick it up, hold it in my hands and direct it to the right part of my teeth and hold it while I chew."

A dog can't do that though because it doesn't have hands. God has given you two parts of your body to do things with. He has given you a lot more, but those two things are probably the most productive part of your body for you to use.

Your hands give you the ability to do work that can produce wealth. Your two hands can make you wealthy. What are you doing with them? You might say,

"I'm not very physically strong and capable."

Can you write with a pen, or are you able to type on a keyboard? Do you know how much wealth you can produce by typing or by writing?

You could produce knowledge by writing books and selling them. You could do physical work with your hands. You can mold and make things or do artistic work and sell it. There are so many things that you can do like that.

It requires diligence and it requires hard work. What are you doing to develop the skills that are in your body?

It doesn't just refer to your hands. How about the whole of your body? How much effort have you made to make your body the most efficient piece of machinery that you have to work with?

It is Up to You

You need to be able to do that so that your spirit is producing new ideas and being creative. And the knowledge that you have in your soul is also increasing, so that you are getting better and better all the time.

If you can do that then here is what is going to happen. The better you get, the better it will get for you. The better you are, the better things will be for you. You might say to me,

"I wish things would get better."

If you want things to get better, then you are going to have to get better.

You say, "I have been praying for this. I have been praying, 'Lord, please make things better.' "

Well what is God doing?

You say, "Well you know God isn't doing anything. I'm still waiting for Him."

Did you try tapping into your spirit and asking God to give you a new revelation? Did you try spending a bit of time in the Word to increase that revelation?

Have you spent time reading books and studying principles; studying the Word to increase your knowledge? Have you tried doing professional studies of different kinds of works or skills?

Have you studied to increase your artistic abilities so that you can play better music, write better or act - whatever it is that you have?

What have you done? How capable is your body of doing what it will take to produce the kind of work that will make you productive?

If you are not prepared to do that then don't cry that you are in poverty and lack. Don't cry and complain against the Lord and say,

"It's not fair. Everybody else has everything. Look at those unbelievers. They have everything!"

Because they are not lazy like you. They don't know God, so they are not sitting on their backsides waiting for Him to do everything like you are.

You say, "Well I'm a Christian. God should do things for me."

He has already done it from the beginning - 2000 years ago on the cross of Calvary. God is waiting for you to get better. And soon as you get better things will get better for you.

When this happens then you are going to begin to walk in the kind of blessing of provision that God intended for you.

There is a lot more to it than this though because you may have problems when you try to do this. You might say to me,

"I am ready to do that. I am more than ready to use all the abilities that God has given me, but I can't seem to get it right."

That is because there are additional complications and we have an enemy out there. In the next section I am going to cover that in a bit more detail.

I am going to show you the kind of problems that we can face. I will show you the things that stop us from moving into this, and how we can overcome and walk in victory and blessing. Then we will walk in the kind of prosperity that God has for us.
